JOURNAL=5-31-15=BELIEVE “When they ALL saw him-they WORSHIPED-but they DOUBTED” Matthew 28:17 We LIVE in a scientific age-we ALL want PROOF of everything-but WHERE GOD is concerned-it is a misnomer-because WE FIND GOD in faith-we find GOD by believing-WE BELIEVE despite the lack of evidence YET the circumstantial EVIDENCE for God is all around us-the sun-the moon-the green grass-and trees-OUR VERY OWN LIVES The WOMEN in the above example had already ANNOUNCED the incredible news to the disciples-Jesus is NO LONGER in the tomb-he is ALIVE in their midst-they BELIEVED-yet they doubted Jesus told the disciples that he would live-that he would RISE from the dead-even with PROOF-with Jesus right in front of them-the human condition was shining through-THEY WANTED to believe-yet they questioned and they doubted HOW about you and me? DO you believe the Scriptures-do you BELIEVE-the eyewitness testimony-WE PROFESS that Jesus is ALIVE-that God is ALIVE in this world-but do you really BELIEVE IT? I can only ANSWER for MYSELF-I was never so sure of anything in my ENTIRE LIFE-GOD IS ALIVE-JESUS IS ALIVE-He is alive IN YOU AND IN ME Dear Lord-we PRAY that we may be witnesses to you in this world-we may be WITNESSES to you-even when FAITH AND DOUBT coexist WE BELIEVE! It is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us-and a great day for having FAITH in God and for BELIEVING that Jesus Christ is ALIVE-and in our very midst it is a GREAT DAY for BELIEVING WITNESS 8-3-13 BELIEVE The best magic Doesn’t trick you IT MAKES YOU BELIEVE And that’s WHAT happened to me Believe In the GOODNESS of God BELIEVE In the KINDNESS of others GOD SAVED My life He has kept me alive Over and over again God is good BELIEVE Believe in the goodness of God Believe in miracles Believe in the MAGIC Of ordinary days Believe OUR GOD IS ALIVE “Jesus said, ‘I tell you the truth If you have faith and do not doubt Not only Can you do what was done To the fig tree But you can also say To the mountain ‘Go throw yourself into the sea’ And it will be done If you BELIEVE You will receive Whatever you ask for in prayer’” Matthew 21:22 BELIEVE Believe in God Believe in others SO MANY have helped me on my way Along my journey BELIEVE-in the KINDNESS of others GOD will not disappoint FAMILY will not disappoint FRIENDS will not disappoint THE BEST MAGIC IS GOD The next best magic is FAMILY And the next best magic Is your friends JUST BELIEVE “He (John the Baptist) came as a witness To testify Concerning that BELIEF So that through him ALL MEN WILL BELIEVE” John 1:7 “He himself Was NOT the light (JESUS was) He came only as a witness To the light The true light That gives light to every man Was coming into the world” John 1:8 & 9 And if you Do not believe In John’s testimony Or believe In my faith and testimony BELIEVE IN THE MIRACLES For no miracle Was ever performed by Jesus Without faith By the one Who received the miracle “WHY then Do you accuse me of blasphemy Because I said ‘I am God’s Son’ Do not believe me Unless I do what my Father does But if I do it Even though you do not believe me BELIEVE THE MIRACLES That you may know and understand That the Father is in me And I in the Father” John 10:37 & 38 Dear Lord-WE BELIEVE Robert P. JOURNAL=5-30-15=WHAT WOULD YOU ASK FOR? “WHEN I was young and innocent-I sought wisdom........” Sirach 51:13 MOST of us KNOW about King David's-son-Solomon-asking for WISDOM-when he was granted one WISH from God-but did you know that there was a another man pursuing WISDOM-a man by the name of Sirach In the book of Sirach-he speaks about LOOKING BACK on a lifetime of seeking God's will and experiencing God's guidance-FROM eighteen to eighty he “BURNED WITH DESIRE” for God's WISDOM SO I ASK YOU-have you been burning with desire to do GOD'S WILL-have you been burning with desire for seeking the WISDOM OF GOD-Solomon eventually throws away his gift of wisdom-by seeking pagan or alien wives-but what about Sirach-he makes no such mention-and what about you and me WHAT WOULD you ask for IF GOD granted you one wish-I would ask for UNENDING LIFE with God and Christ-and to LIVE in the HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD forever-and I would do my VERY BEST not to throw it all away-like SOLOMON-by choosing the wrong mate SO REMEMBER-as you go through your journey of life-to ALWAYS keep knocking on the door of God for WISDOM-and ask for the guidance to not make bad decisions-and IF we do-as we all have done at one time or another-KEEP IN MIND we worship a FORGIVING AND MERCIFUL GOD-who will always give us another chance-IF we are really and truly TRYING to get it RIGHT It is NEVER TOO LATE to open the door to God and to WISDOM it is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in God's LOVE for us and a great day to be “burning with desire” for the wisdom of God WITTNESS 5-6-13 WHAT WOULD YOU ASK FOR As David was dying He bestowed on his son, Solomon, his kingship And he told his son-Solomon To walk in the ways of the Lord And to keep God’s laws and requirements As written In the book of Moses And that God would “keep his promise” That someone from David’s descendants Would always sit on the throne After David does in fact die The Lord appears to Solomon and says, “Ask for whatever you want me To give to you” 1 Kings 3:5 So Solomon asks for, “A discerning heart To govern your people And to distinguish between right and wrong” 1 Kings 3:9 In other words---WISDOM God was so pleased With Solomon’s answer That he bestows on him, “Riches and honor So that in your lifetime You will have no equal among kings” 1 Kings 3:13 If you were Solomon What would you have asked for Basically, wisdom is practical insight The skill of living successfully And it begins With FEAR OF THE LORD In Solomon’s own words, he writes, “The FEAR of the Lord Is the beginning of knowledge For fools despise wisdom and discipline” Proverbs 1:7 Unfortunately for Solomon He made some bad choices with women Is there any of us men That can’t identify with that At least once in our life The Bible says That he-Solomon-had over 700 wives And as he grew older He let his wives Turn his heart toward other gods And that his heart Was NOT fully devoted To the one true God As his father-David’s-had been So Solomon---As ADAM did before him Chose to follow a woman over God God becomes angry at Solomon Because he DID NOT keep his covenant With God So God Let’s his kingdom become divided HOW MANY of us Have become LOST in life BOTH men and women By becoming enamored with someone of the opposite sex With a dubious reputation So dear friends---like Solomon before us We pray for WISDOM But NOT just any wisdom We pray for SPIRITUAL WISDOM And the FAITH to see it through “The man Without the spirit Does not accept the things That come from the spirit of God For they are foolishness to him And he cannot understand them Because they are spiritually discerned” 1 Corinthians 2:14 Dear Lord, humbly, we your people Ask you for one more thing That the SPIRIT OF GOD BE PRESENT IN OUR LIVES In Jesus’ name, we pray……. WHAT ABOUT ME?

WHAT ABOUT ME? Do you ever Feel like GOD LOVES other people Or even someone else MORE than he loves you I THINK it is a COMMON FEELING WHEN things Are going right in someone else' life Or sometimes SEEMINGLY every one else' life But our own When we Have serious health difficulties When we Have serious financial issues Or even When relationship Or family problems ARISE Though we know We shouldn't do it We look to The guy or gal BESIDE US Who are seemingly going Great guns And we wonder Why me-or WHAT ABOUT ME? We could LEARN A great lesson From the 21st chapter of Saint John's GOSPEL “Jesus said to Peter (regarding the disciple that Jesus loved) 'WHAT if I want him To REMAIN until I come What concern of it is yours? YOU MUST FOLLOW ME” John 21:22 Jesus was telling Peter As HE IS telling us today That his relationship With other people HIS RELATIONSHIP with other apostles and disciples ISN'T any of our business We are To be concerned ONLY with our own relationship With God and Jesus UNLESS We are called upon To ENCOURAGE ANOTHER Or HELP someone else ALL we need to do Is focus Or listen For his call And FOLLOW WHERE he leads us STILL you ask WHERE is the JUSTICE In that-or WHAT ABOUT ME? God will not forget Jesus will not forget JUSTICE for the righteous “For the Lord Is RIGHTEOUS He loves justice The upright Will see his FACE” Psalm 11:7 “MANY seek an audience With a ruler But it is FROM the Lord That one gets JUSTICE” Proverbs 29:26 So please-don't ever say “WHAT ABOUT JUSTICE?” You will receive your justice From God In the end-God WILL JUSTIFY YOU “WHO will bring Any charge Against those Whom God has CHOSEN It is GOD WHO JUSTIFIES” Romans 8:33 Dear Lord-WE PRAY HELP US To FOLLOW YOU In love and faith And NEVER SAY “WHAT ABOUT ME?” We are JUSTIFIED BY YOUR GRACE Robert P. JOURNAL=5-29-15=ANGER MANAGEMENT “On entering the temple area-he began to DRIVE OUT those selling and buying there-he overturned the table of the money changers........” Mark 11:15 Have you ever lost your temper-or has anyone ever LOST their temper on you-and have you ever rationalized your behavior by saying Jesus lost his temper too-by saying-Jesus threw the moneychangers out of the temple-and that the rest of us sinners are ENTITLED to anger BUT the TRUTH IS-anger is NEVER the Christian thing to do-it must be TENDERED WITH LOVE-JESUS' ANGER was without sin-he KNEW the intentions of the moneychangers-and he knew that no one would be harmed by his rebuke-the rest of us-have NO such wisdom And it is ONLY in our hindsight that we can see HOW we hurt someone-and how we could have tempered our attack with a little less anger-and a little MORE LOVE-Jesus had a RIGHTEOUS ANGER ANGER is an issue for MANY of us in today' world But PLEASE remember the BIG picture WE are here to ACCOMPLISH the RIGHTEOUSNESS Of God It is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE! In GOD'S LOVE for us WITNESS May 16th, 2013 ANGER MANAGEMENT One of the Most wasted emotions That we have is anger We get angry We tell someone off We write someone A nasty letter For what A split moment to feel better But it almost NEVER changes anything-long-term But what about God What does God Do with his anger When we disappoint him God told Moses, “The Lord, The Lord The compassionate and gracious God Slow to anger-abounding in love And faithfulness Maintaining love to thousands And forgiving wickedness, rebelliousness, and sin” Exodus 34:6 & 7 Maybe that’s what the Lord Wants us to do-forgive wickedness Maybe we are first To go to our brother and sister And talk with them “Therefore If you are offering your gift At the altar And there remember That your brother Has something against you Leave your gift there In front of the altar First go And be reconciled to your brother Then come and offer your gift’’ Matthew 5:23 & 24 And if You have already tried this And the person Proved themselves unreasonable I suggest You pray for them For God To change their heart And do your best To AVOID them Anger is A POWERFUL emotion But if We truly forgive the other person We can move Closer to becoming a better person And move CLOSER TO GOD I am NOT saying Do not feel anger But I am saying Temper your anger with mercy “The Lord Is compassionate and gracious Slow to anger ABOUNDING IN LOVE” Psalm 103:8 I am saying Before you blast someone verbally Before you fire off An e-mail Or write a nasty letter Think of what The Lord would do “This is how we should pray …….. JOURNAL=5-28-15=BREATHE A LITTLE “By the WORD of the Lord-the heavens were made-by the BREATH of his mouth-ALL their host” Psalm 33:6 God says the word “Be!”-and with that utterance-the sun-the moon-and stars-and ALL of God's creation are BREATHED into being WE too breathe-WE may NOT be able to create the world into being-or anything into being for that matter-BUT we can utter love-peace-and kindness into our brothers and sisters-in Christ-and with the proper words-we can BREATHE a little HOPE into another human being LIFE is sacred-with the breath of our lives-we can HONOR those who came before us-OUR VERY OWN FAMILY-and by living the PROPER VALUES-we can set the tone for those who come after us What kind of LEGACY are we leaving for those who come after us? JOURNAL=5-27-15=TAKE A LOOK........A GOOD LONG LOOK “HE began to tell them what was going to HAPPEN to him” Mark 10:32 BEFORE it happened-Jesus pulled his disciples aside-and told them what was going to happen to him-He told them he would be seized-tortured-and put to death-LOOKING back now-WE REALIZE he KNEW exactly what he was talking about it-but let's face it-WE-HIS DISCIPLES of today-would probably have NOT paid any more attention to him-than his disciples of yesteryear did-CAN YOU just IMAGINE what was going through his mind My disciples-MY FRIENDS-are ALL going to desert me-and leave me to be humiliated and die all alone-ARE YOU EMBARASSED?-I AM-WHAT are we going to say to him-IF we are FORTUNATE enough to meet him at the end of our life it is A GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us-and a great to FINALLY REALIZE-if we haven't already-what our LORD and Savior-Jesus Christ did for us-and a great day to BEGIN TO GIVE some portion of our life back to him TAKE A LOOK---TAKE A GOOD LONG LOOK There’s a man Out there on the hill With something on his back Walking, struggling Trying to move along He was Made to do this By a man By the name of Pilate Because He fell out of favor With the people But he picked up the cross Willingly And moved right along He fell once, He fell twice And even a third time But he kept getting back up The people all knew It was wrong Take a look At this man Take a good long look The people of his day Did not want To confront their sins The same as me and you today They keep---we keep Living out of coldness Living out of ingratitude Living out of selfishness Denying the needs of one another Along the way On his walk with the cross He met his Mother Along the way He wept for the women of Jerusalem--- And the people of his day Take a look Take a very long good look He knew That these sins Had to be confronted He knew That these sins Had to be carried Had to be put away Keep looking See that cross That cross that he is carrying It is the perfect definition of his love For you and for me The greatest love, he once said, “Is to lay down one’s life For his friends” He is stripped Take a look He is crucified Take a very long look He dies And is put in the tomb Keep on looking His carrying of the cross Is the answer to ALL of our needs His perfect compassion His perfect love Jesus The Lamb of God Jesus The perfect life Jesus The perfect love Hanging out there in the tree For you and for me Take a look TAKE A GOOD LONG LOOK Robert P. JOURNAL=5-26-15=THE LAST SHALL BE FIRST “Jesus said: 'Amen-I say to you-there is no one who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands-for my sake and the sake and the sake of the gospel-who will not RECEIVE a hundred times more now in this present age: houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands-with persecutions-and ETERNAL LIFE in the age to come'” Mark 10:29-30 Have you ever finished LAST at something in life-or been CHOSEN last for something-NOT a very good feeling is it-yet Jesus tells us those that are last-will be FIRST in GOD'S KINGDOM-how comforting-when the world leaves us in its wake-God tells us-Jesus tells us-WE ARE still fist with him And as for the above example-ALL we have to do is LOOK TO the story of JOB-who lost everything-yet God gave him everything back and MORE-SO what do we have to give up to FOLLOW Jesus in today's world-WE have to RENOUNCE LIVING by the worldly values of-sex-money- and science first-and LIVE BY GOD'S VALUES of LOVE-FAMILY-kindness-and forgiveness first-WE HAVE to make GOD FIRST in our hearts BY HOLDING God first-we become loving and living vessels of GOD'S KINGDOM-WE are no longer slaves to a willful and selfish love-but we are DRAWN CLOSER and closer to him as we DRIFT further away form the values that the world teaches us-and we FINISH FIRST in the heart of God-just as JOB DID it is a great day to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us and a great day for making GOD number 1 in our hearts “The Last Shall Be First” In the 20th Chapter Of Saint Matthew’s Gospel Jesus tells the parable Of a landowner hiring workers He hires Some workers for the morning He hires Some in Mid-day And he hires some Late in the day When it comes time For payment He pays them All the same wages Is Jesus being unfair What is Jesus Trying to teach us Jesus is not being unfair Because he paid everyone What he promised to pay them I think here again Jesus is trying to teach us God’s ways Are not our ways I think he is Trying to teach us That it makes no difference When you come to God As long as YOU DO Come to God And I think Jesus Is trying to teach us That the payment Is the same for us No matter when we come to God As long as We do come to God And that payment Is GOD’S UNDYING LOVE FOR US Robert P. JOURNAL=5-25-15=ENDURANCE=THE LONG HAUL “You are my SHELTER-from distress-you will PRESERVE ME” Psalm 32:7 LIFE is a long JOURNEY-at some point of time in LIFE-we have ALL suffered from depression or DESPAIR-sometimes-it is a question of WHY should we go on-but we MUST all remember that life is a long haul-and that the circumstances of today-PROBABLY WILL NOT be our circumstances of tomorrow-ESPECIALLY with GOD AND JESUS in our lives THE PSALMIST encourages us to ALLOW OURSELVES to FEEL the LOVE that GOD has for us-for the TRUTH is: GOD'S TENDER CARE for us ENDURES no matter what is happening in our lives-WE are CHOSEN by God-and that alone-GIVES OUR LIFE-meaning and PURPOSE-BEYOND today and tomorrow-a life that has meaning for the long haul-a LIFE that endures FOREVER it is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us-and a great day to ENDURE our hardships-for we are LOVED by God and Jesus Christ-who has FREED us from sin-and gives us HOPE FOREVER And PLEASE join me in PRAYING for our soldiers who are RESPONSIBLE for the physical freedom we have ENJOYED-and continue to enjoy in TODAY'S WORLD WITNESS 3-07-13 ENDURANCE---THE LONG HAUL Where are you In your personal relationship with God Are your enduring The trials of your life Are you loving God Despite the troubles in your life Are you letting him Love you “For everything That was written in the past So that through ENDURANCE And the encouragement of the scriptures We might have HOPE” Romans 15:4 We are going to have problems In this life Of that we can be sure So we may as well Stick to God So he can be there for us And we can be there For one another Turning our troubles Into blessings Turning our problems into HOPE “May the God Who gives ENDURANCE and encouragement Give you a spirit of unity Among yourselves As you follow Christ Jesus So that with one heart and mouth You may glorify the God and Father Of our Lord Jesus Christ” Romans 15;5 & 6 Be in it With God Be in it For the long haul ENDURE means To carry us through Despite our hardships God is BUILDING Something in you A LIFE THAT WILL LAST Long after you have left This world For you are ROCK You have built your life On the WORD OF GOD NOT the word Of man You-me-us- We are in it For the long haul NOT transitory rewards Dear Lord We pray for a life BUILT on your word A life that will last For we KNOW That righteousness and love ENDURES forever “He has scattered abroad His gifts to the poor His righteousness ENDURES forever His horn will be lifted high in honor” Isaiah 112:9 “Give thanks to the Lord For he is GOOD His life ENDURES FOREVER” Psalm 136:1 So we know That if we build our lives On the WORD OF GOD Our lives and love Will ENDURE for the LONG HAUL Our lives will LAST FOREVER Robert P. JOURNAL=5-21-15=GOD WANTS YOU TO BE HAPPY “I MADE known to them your name-and I will make it known-that the LOVE with which you loved me may be in them and I in them” John 17:26 Jesus made GOD THE FATHER known all over the world-that may be a little outside of what we are able to do-but because of us-you and me-MORE PEOPLE should come to God-or at least be a little STRONGER in their FAITH because of us GOD wants you to be HAPPY in your life-and he wants you to be HAPPIER because you are DRAWING CLOSER to God in your life-HE may not give you everything you ask for-but he WILL give you all that you NEED Jesus laid it out for ALL of us: GOD LOVES US He taught us the beautiful parables-He performed the WONDROUS MIRACLES-and he lived-died-and RESURRECTED in life-even death could not contain him TALK about being happy-talk about a HAPPY ENDING-for him-and for us BELIEVERS-now it is UP TO US to PROCLAIM to the world that this life on earth can have a HAPPY ENDING-and that we can look forward to spending ALL OF ETERNITY with God and Jesus Dear GOD-Dear Lord=THANK YOU for loving us it is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us-and a GREAT DAY to PROCLAIM GOD'S LOVE for us-what a HAPPY ENDING GOD WANTS YOU TO BE HAPPY GOD wants you To be totally happy That is-FOR SURE But he may differ On what he thinks Might bring about your happiness He wants you To FIND your happiness (your joy) in him NOT IN The things of this world As a matter of fact JOY-another word for happiness Is one of the FRUITS Of the spirit “BUT the fruit of the spirit Is love-joy (happiness)- Peace-patience-kindness- Goodness-faithfulness- Gentleness-and self-control Against such things There is no law” Galatians 5:22-23 “IF you do these things HAPPY are you IF you do them” John 13:17 God wants you To be happy HE REALLY DOES Are you currently happy? YES-NO-or it depends IF you are HAPPY in the Lord Nothing external to you Can make you unhappy You can be unhappy In things or situations Going on In your life But you can still be happy In the Lord And in life “But may the righteous Be glad And rejoice before God May they be happy And joyful” Psalm 68:3 “A happy heart Makes the face CHEERFUL But heartache Crushes the spirit” Proverbs 15:3 And nothing Crushes the spirit Like trying to find happiness In the wrong things Things-material possessions Won't make you happy Addictions Won't make you happy LUST-sexual perversion Won't make you happy GOD KNOWS All of this So he wants you To turn to him God wants you To be happy God wants you To find your joy IN HIM “I have told you this So that my JOY May be in you And your joy May be COMPLETE MY command is this: LOVE each other As I have loved you Greater love Has no one than this That he lay down his life For his friends” John 15-11-13 God wants you To be happy And the ironic thing is this: You can only find happiness In giving yourself away To a cause GREATER than yourself Love God and truly love others And you will find TRUE HAPPINESS Robert P. JOURNAL=5-20-15=GOODNESS “AS YOU sent me into the world-so I sent them into the world” John 17:18 WHAT an awesome PRIVILEGE Jesus and God the FATHER-gave the apostles-and to us-his apostles and disciples in this modern day world-to go out into the the world-and LIVE EXAMPLES of good lives like Jesus himself did-and to live lives testifying with the very spirit he gives us-HIS HOLY SPIRIT-his very own spirit-the SPIRIT OF GOD Jesus' ENTIRE LIFE was the revelation of GOD'S THOUGHTS and GOD'S PRESENCE in the world back then-and continues to INFLUENCE US today in every day life-OUR LIVES too are meant to REVEAL something of God by what we DO and say ALL FORMS of human goodness are reflections of GOD'S GOODNESS-particularly those that are doing GOOD-in HONOR of Christ-sometimes we can see REFLECTIONS of God in others-and sometimes we can even see God in ourselves DEAR LORD-you sent us into the world to REFLECT YOU by doing good-let us BE FAITHFUL to our CALLING it is a GREAT DAY to be alive in GOD'S LOVE for us-and a great day to be REFLECTIONS OF GOD-by doing GOOD in the world WITNESS 4-03-13 GOODNESS I have heard the saying Many times in life that “It does not matter If we believe in God As long as we are good people” They hope That by being good To please God---IF there is one And if there is no God They hope for the approval of men I salute these people For the good that they do But in the heart of a Christian There is a different process The true Christian knows That any good that he or she does Comes from the Christ-like life That lives inside of him or her The true Christian Does NOT think That God will love us If we are good He or she knows better The true Christian knows That God already loves us And that God will make us good Because he does love us Like Saint Paul said, “No longer I But Christ who lives in me” That is where Our goodness comes from---FROM CHRIST And we know as Christians That we are NOT perfect That sometimes we will do wrong Even if it is NOT our intention By the mere fact that we ARE human But we will repent After each stumble And go on Trying to do good again Because of the Christ-like life That lives inside each and every one of us And we know That goodness does live within us Because when Christ ascended Into heaven He left his very own spirit behind “But the fruit of the spirit is love, Joy, peace, patience, kindness, GOODNESS, Faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control Against such things There is no law” Galatians 5:22-23 And so We keep trying to do good Even when we fall short We pick ourselves up We dust ourselves off And we try to do good ALL OVER AGAIN We let God himself RESURRECT us As he-God himself-resurrected Christ And when we come to the end of our journey We long to hear the words “Well done GOOD and faithful servant” Robert P. JOURNAL=5-19-15=REPLACING WORRY WITH FAITH “I PRAY for them-I do NOT pray for the world-but for the ONES you have given me-because they are yours-and everything of mine is YOURS-and everything of yours is mine........” John 17:8-9 Jesus was PRAYING for his apostles and his disciples of yesteryear-and us too-FOR US BELIEVERS-for we are HIS apostles and disciples of today-the 21st century-and it is UP TO US to bring NEW BELIEVERS to God and Christ-for Jesus' mission-and our mission is ONLY ½ way complete-for less than ½ the world BELIEVE IN CHRIST I don't KNOW about you-but Jesus is the ONLY PERSON that I have heard of-that CONQUERED DEATH-for he KNEW something that no one else seems to KNOW-HE KNEW to put ALL of his HOPES in the Father/HIS FATHER-and he knew to STEP OUTSIDE of himself-he PRAYED FOR OTHERS I don't know WHY I LIVED through all the things I have lived through-and I certainly am NOT comparing myself to Jesus-or even anyone else in this world-but WHEN my moment of TRUTH came on my 22nd birthday-I prayed to LIVE for others-and that is certainly the way my life has gone-and I sincerely THANK God and Jesus for chance upon chance to keep getting it right-and I WILL keep trying if GOD AND JESUS keep giving me chances Jesus PRAYED that GOD would continue to HOLD US TIGHT-it was a stunning act of FAITH on his part-and that is our call to REPLACE WORRY WITH FAITH as Jesus himself did-to STEP OUTSIDE of ourselves and PRAY FOR OTHERS at our own time of PERSONAL CRISIS-this is THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE of Jesus giving his own life for us ALL Dear Lord-WE PRAY-that WHEN trouble surrounds us-that you HELP US remember others-and their intentions-IN OUR PRAYERS it is a great day to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us and a great day for STEPPING OUTSIDE of ourselves for the sake of others WITNESS 9-11-13 REPLACING WORRY WITH FAITH How do you Handle your worry How do you handle Your anxiety We all Have a multitude Of worry In our life Worry abut health Worry about money Worry about broken relationships We all have A multitude of worries A multitude of anxieties That we Can do nothing about Luckily for us In the Sermon on the Mount In the 6th chapter Of Saint Matthew’s Gospel Jesus tells us How to handle worry God has everything Under control “Seek first The Kingdom of God And his righteousness And all those things ( the necessities of life ) Will be given to you as well” Worry worry everywhere Everywhere that I turn Everywhere that I look Something or someone else Is coming at me Like never before “Do not worry About tomorrow For tomorrow Will worry about itself Each day Has trouble enough Of its own” So please Don’t worry Whatever your troubles May be God has everything Under control Seek first The Kingdom of God God---and his righteousness Has it all under control So give your worries to God And your anxiety too And your worry Will be replaced faith Replaced by The peace of God Which transcends all understanding Do not worry about tomorrow For today Has trouble enough Of its own Give all your worries and anxieties To God God will give you peace God has it ALL Under control Robert P. GOD LOVES YOU AND SO DO I!

GOD LOVES YOU!- and so do I I often tell people- “GOD LOVES YOU!- And so do I” Imagine-my surprise WHEN I ran across That very saying At a Christian book store On plaques and coffee cups Needless to say I bought a couple I have also ran across That saying In religious books-poems-banners- And bumper stickers DO YOU really believe that GOD DOES love you And more importantly DO YOU LOVE GOD And Do you remain LOYAL to the Lord “AS the Father loves me- So I also love you REMAIN in my love” John 15:9 The message that “GOD LOVES YOU!” Should make us feel At peace And make it easier For us To RETURN our love to God By the way SO DO I That is what As Christians We are called to do Jesus said: “LOVE ONE ANOTHER” John 15:12 So I ask you again Do you love God And do you LOVE OTHERS Do you STILL LOVE God WHEN some tragedy or illness strikes Or when someone CLOSE to you passes away Do I QUESTION my love For God In these moments Or do I REMAIN LOYAL TO GOD “And HOPE (in God) Does not disappoint us Because God has POURED OUT His love Into our hearts By the Holy Spirit Whom he has GIVEN US” Romans 5:5 And while We are LOVING ONE ANOTHER Let us remember That the ancient Greek philosophy USED three words to express LOVE Philia-is a common friendship- KIND OF LOVE Eros-is an affection Or sexual kind of love And AGAPE is an UNCONDITIONAL kind of love The kind of love GOD has for us And the kind of love (IF we are TRUE CHRISTIANS) We are to have for each other AS CHRIST'S DISCIPLES “Let NO DEBT remain outstanding Except the CONTINUING DEBT To LOVE one another For he who loves His fellow man Has FULFILLED the law” Romans 13:8 SO CONTINUE to love God And each other Through illness and physical pain Through financial hardship And through relationship difficulties BE CONSISTENT to this In good times and bad What could be More unconditional than that GOD LOVES YOU! JOURNAL=5-18-15=THE SIMPLE TOUCH OF GOD “Behold-the hour is coming and has ARRIVED when each of you will be SCATTERED to his own home-and you will leave me ALONE-BUT-I am NOT ALONE-because the Father is with me-I have told you this so that you might have PEACE IN ME” John 16: 32-33 DO YOU HAVE-the PRESENCE of God in your life-IF YOU DO-you are NEVER alone-you always have the FATHER-HIS SON-and their HOLY SPIRIT living within you-and you have GOD'S SPIRIT-always-IF you want him-for the FATHER doesn't say no to his children-IF it is GOOD for us THE DISCIPLES loved Jesus-and were with him constantly-THEY saw him perform miracle after miracle-and had already seen JESUS' POWER over death in the PRESENCE of Lazarus-and in the son of the widow Nain-yet when Jesus' time came-for suffering and death-almost ALL abandoned him-yet it really didn't matter-because Jesus' FULFILLMENT had to come over suffering and death-which had to come from HIS FATHER IT IS the SAME for us-WE SHARE our love with our FAMILIES-and our interaction with them IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT-yet when it comes time for us to FACE our suffering-NO ONE can do it for us-but we can LEAN ON the PRESENCE OF GOD-the PRESENCE of our GODLY FATHER-as Jesus himself did-That is WHY we should always REMAIN OPEN to the PRESENCE OF GOD within us it is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us and a GREAT DAY to REMAIN OPEN to the SIMPLE TOUCH OF GOD THE SIMPLE TOUCH OF GOD The simple touch of God Is-for me The simple touch of God IS-for you WELL-The simple touch of God IS FOREVER and for everyone That is What happened to me God has TOUCHED me God has touched my heart And he has NEVER let me go TOUCH me heart Touch my soul Touch me TOUCH US FORVER MORE 2,000 years ago After Jesus Resurrected He appeared to his disciples and said: “PEACE be with you…….. JOURNAL=5-17-15=FACE-TO-FACE WITH GOD “NO ONE has ever seen God-Yet-IF we LOVE ONE ANOTHER-God REMAINS in us-and his love is BROUGHT to perfection in us” 1 John 4:12 IT IS TRUE-that no one has seen the face of God-but MANY have seen GOD'S ONLY SON-Jesus Christ-the second person of the TRINITY And Jesus is in every one of us in this world-he is IN the people at every intersection in Miami asking for money to feed their family-he is in the men and women in every VA hospital in this country-he is in the homeless mother and their children-he is in the mentally ill-and he is every one of us and whatever our needs are That is WHY it is so IMPORTANT that we LOVE our neighbor-WHOEVER they may be-and the NEEDY are in every country and culture in this world-WE KNOW that loving OUR NEIGHBOR is doing the WILL OF GOD-because it is the second commandment of Christ-and is EVERY bit as important as the first-he once TOLD US And so-WHILE we may never see the ACTUAL FACE of GOD-we know what Jesus looks like-and we see him again and again in the MARGINALIZED PEOPLE of this world So go out into the world-and see a person in NEED and you will seethe FACE of God-the face of CHRIST-and by HELPING someone-it will BRING GOD'S LOVE to perfection in you it is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us-and a great day-for spreading GOD'S LOVE to someone in need FACE-TO-FACE WITH GOD Have you ever Wanted to see God FACE-TO-FACE I thought I wanted to But I don't I would feel ASHAMED For some Of the things I have done in my life And feel unworthy INFERIOR Too low To see God FACE-TO-FACE Yet that Is exactly What God tells us That if we are UPRIGHT AND JUST We will see God's face “The Lord is RIGHTEOUS He loves just deeds The upright Shall see his face” Psalm 11:7 Nevertheless ASSUMING I am upright and just I STILL DON'T want to see his face I would just feel SO INFERIOR I HOPE I never see his face UNTIL judgment time At which time I will hang my head low AND NOT look up Jacob saw his face After wrestling with God All night “So Jacob Called the place Peniel,” Saying, “It is because I saw God face-to-face And yet my life Was spared” Genesis 32:30 Yet Jacob NEVER Describes The Lord's FACE The MOST that we know Is that Moses' face became RADIANTLY ALIVE “WHEN Moses Came down from Mount Sinai With the two tablets In his hands He was not aware That his face was radiant Because he had spoken with the Lord” Exodus 34:29 So we KNOW God's face Must be radiant Like the sun “LET the light of your face SHINE upon us O Lord” Psalm 4:6 No-GOD'S FACE Is too bright For any of us To actually visibly see While in this world I think the most That we can hope for IS to be in God's PRESENCE SPIRITUALLY speaking And that our friendship Will GROW with God HEART-to-HEART And as God DRAWS us closer and closer To him We can begin To see The face of God in us “FOR GOD, who said 'LET the light SHINE out of darkness' Made his light SHINE in our hearts To give us The light of the knowledge Of the GLORY of God In the FACE of Christ” 2 Corinthians 4:6 For it was Christ Who was-who is And who ALWAYS will be THE FACE OF GOD ON EARTH Robert P. JOURNAL=5-16-15=A NEWNESS IN THE LORD “ALL you peoples-clap your hands-shout to God with cries of gladness” Psalm 47:2 Did you KNOW today is a SPECIAL DAY? JOURNAL=5-15-15=FOR OR AGAINST “WHATEVER you ask the Father in my name HE WILL GIVE TO YOU” John 16:23 I guess I have two questions for you: DO YOU believe that God answers PRAYERS? And DO YOU BELIEVE that God wants GOOD things for you and your life? I BELIEVE that the answer to BOTH questions are a DEFINITE YES-and I BELIEVE that GOD does want GOOD things for us IN OUR LIFE-but I BELIEVE-we have to get tuned in to GOD'S PLAN for us-I BELIEVE that we have to want what GOD wants for us-IN HIS NAME MANY YEARS ago-I made a deathbed PROMISE: “to LIVE for my family-friends-and ALL PEOPLE everywhere”-as long as I was TRYING to do things my own way-MY LIFE was going nowhere-but ONCE I really sat down and took my PROMISE SERIOUSLY-I FEEL so much better about things-and my life really DOES MAKE SENSE “IF GOD is for us-WHAT DIFFERENCE does it make as to who or what is against us”-BY PUTTING GOD and FAMILY first-WE CAN AND WILL succeed against all odds-I WAS THERE when my father and mother both died-I HAVE SISTERS that call me REGULARLY and HELP me in infinite ways-I HAVE four beautiful nieces and a wonderful extended family-as well as childhood friends and friends from ALL over the country and ALL over the world I AM HAPPY-I believe I am succeeding at life-because I LEARNED the values of God-GOD AND Family first-love-forgiveness-and KINDNESS-what can be any more important than that I am succeeding in spite of himself-by first trying to do things the world's way=sex=money and science VERSUS love-forgiveness-and kindness=I AM among ALL people most humbly BLESSED and you can be too-IF you try it THE GODLY WAY it is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us-and a great day to KNOW that GOD is for you-and WANTS GOOD THINGS for you-in your life FOR OR AGAINST IF God is for us What does it matter Who or what is against us For all the powers In this universe Cannot stand up To the POWER of GOD'S LOVE “And we know That all things WORK TOGETHER for God To them that love God To them Who are called According to HIS PURPOSE” Romans 8:28 So when the world CONSPIRES to knock us down To HIT us With everything it's got IT IS GOD Who will stand up For us WHAT else do we need? “IF GOD is for us WHO can be against us?” Romans 8:31 “IT is God that JUSTIFIES US” Romans 8:33 World Hit us with your best shot You are not Going to take us down “For ALL THINGS Work together for those WHO LOVE HIM” Our justification Comes from God NOT from this world GOD SAYS He will love us No matter what “For I am persuaded That neither death-nor life Nor angels-nor principalities Nor powers-Nor things present Nor things to come Nor height-nor depth Nor any other creature Shall be able To separate us From the Love of God Which is In Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans 8:38-39 Got that We are a SUCCESS BY THE POWER of God's love For our HOPE IS IN GOD Not in the things Of this world We are Justified by God And our hope Lies in God alone WHERE our justification comes from JUSTIFICATION means To be FREED from guilt or blame BY FAITH God is for us He lived for us He died for us “For we maintain That a man Is justified by faith Apart from observing the law “IS God the God of the Jews only Is he not the God Of the GENTILES too Yes-of Gentiles too” Romans 3:8-28-29 God is FOR US And our hope Comes from God alone And even though We sometimes Get confused along the way GOD picks us back up And puts us On the ROAD TO HOPE The road of faith The road of love “For we are SAVED BY HOPE But hope that is seen Is not hope Who hopes For what he already has But if we hope For what we do not Yet have WE WAIT for it patiently” Romans 8:24-25 GOD IS FOR US And for now That is ALL we need to KNOW Robert P. JOURNAL=5-14-15=WHAT GOES UP........ “So then the Lord Jesus-after he spoke to them-was taken up into heaven-and took his seat at the RIGHT HAND of God” Mark 16:19 The apostles did more than preach about Jesus-they SHARED the personal stories of their own development of Jesus-THEY had a LOVE RELATIONSHIP with Jesus-and today we are NO DIFFERENT-we too have a love relationship with Jesus-and we too-NEED to stand up and tell our LOVE RELATIONSHIP stories-of HOW he has made a difference for us in this world THE only way to bring people to God-to bring people to Jesus-is to SHARE OUR STORIES OF LOVE-PEOPLES' HEARTS need to change about God-before their minds can change-TODAY is ARGUABLY the most important day in the development of the church-Jesus ASCENDS into heaven-leaving his HOLY SPIRIT behind in the hearts of the apostles and disciples-THIS is where our HEARTS of fire and enthusiasm come for evangelization It was time for the apostles to go out on their own-they were ready-Jesus knew it-God knew it-and it is time for us to be READY too it is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in God's LOVE for us-and a great day-for us to be ready too-to STEP forward-and speak for GOD AND JESUS in today's world WHAT GOES UP........ Today is What is KNOWN by Catholics And some Christian faiths As Ascension Thursday It commemorates The bodily ascension Of Jesus into heaven And it is celebrated On a Thursday The fortieth day after Easter “After his suffering he showed himself To these men And gave many convincing proofs That he was ALIVE He appeared to them Over a period Of forty days And spoke about The kingdom of God” Acts 1:3 And he told them: “It is not for you To know The times or dates The Father has set By his own authority But you will receive POWER when the Holy Spirit Comes on you And you will be my witnesses In Jerusalem And in all of Judea and Samaria And to the ends of the earth” Acts 1:7-8 And WE will be His witnesses too To ALL the end s of the earth PREPARING for the Lord WAITING for the Lord ….....MUST COME DOWN And ten days later The spirit came And descended upon the believers As it will descend on us In ten days=June 8th, 2014 The Holy Spirit descends on them And upon us “The BELIEVERS Who were all gathered In one room saw 'What looked like Tongues of fire Which spread on And touched each person there They were ALL filled With the Holy Spirit And began to talk In other languages As the spirit Enabled them to speak'” Acts 2:1-4 The apostles and disciples Did their work And are long gone From this world Estimates and statistics Show that there are 1.2 billion Catholics And up to a total of 2.7 billion Christians Out of the 7 billion people On our planet The SPIRIT is descending on us This Sunday June 8th, 2014 BE practicing Catholics and/or Christians In today's world CATCH GOD'S FIRE And spread THE WORD OF GOD In thought-in word-in deed AND IN LOVE Most importantly In love You CANNOT be a disciple of Christ UNLESS you are loving God And loving others CATCH THE FIRE Be a DISCIPLE of God and Christ TODAY Dear Lord-We pray That we may ALWAYS LOVE And use the gifts Of the Holy Spirit And SPREAD the gospel of love Of God And our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Robert P. JOURNAL=5-13-15=LIFE IS AN OPEN BOOK TEST “Then Paul stood up at the Areopagus and said: 'You Arthenians-I see in EVERY RESPECT you are very religious'” Acts 17:22 Do people say that you are religious? I HOPE NOT-People say that I am religious and-I HATE IT-I like the word SPIRITUAL-spiritual in the sense that I LOVE GOD-and I love others-I don't like to be thought of as one who just OBEYS a set of rules-or am associated with 2000 years of killing or crime-in the name of various religions BUT I do like to be ASSOCIATED as ONE-who has a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with God and Jesus-and ONE who totally LOVES GOD and others-and one who is associated with GOD because of his teachings in the bible Saint Paul did HIS HOMEWORK-before ever uttering a SINGLE WORD in the name of God and Jesus-HE TOURED cities-temples-and familiarized himself with SOME of their great thinkers and writers-BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY-he KNEW the teachings of Jesus-Paul took the TIME to get to KNOW the people he was going to address IT IS the same way with us-WE NEED to know and study bible-WE need to learn the teachings of Jesus-and we do that by listening to our priests and pastors-and we do that by ALWAYS OPENING and reading the good book LIKE Paul-before we utter any words-we need to do our HOME WORK-and most of ALL we need to live what we learn-BY LOVING-BY FORGIVING-and being KIND to one another-We must get to KNOW the people we are ADDRESSING-by taking time-energy-and LOVE-when we are addressing the people we want to CONNECT with-And we must BEGIN each day by OPENING THE BOOK it is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in God's LOVE for us-and it as a GREAT DAY for opening the GOOD BOOK-and using our time-our energy-and OUR LOVE in connecting with others and a GREAT DAY to live what we learn WITNESS 9-13-13 LIFE IS AN OPEN BOOK TEST When I was in school I used to love To hear the instructor say, “It’s an open book test” In my early days I used to think That would make the test much easier What I found out was--- It made the test harder ---much harder Because I found out That the questions Were much much harder And if you didn’t know Where to look for the answers Often times---You just ran out of time My friends Life is a lot like this The Bible is comprised Of 66 different books---chapters if you will 72 books---if you are Catholic It has every answer To life’s questions and problems in it And it even Gives us a few answers That all of us can use At all times Answers like, prayer, “Do not Be anxious about anything But in everything By prayer and petition With thanksgiving Present your request to God And the peace of God Which transcends all understanding Will guard your hearts And your minds in Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:6-7 Answers like, forgiveness, “I tell you, NOT seven times But seventy times seven” Matthew 18:22 Answers like love, “Love the Lord your God With all your heart And with all your soul And with all your mind And with all your strength ……………… Love your neighbor as yourself There is no commandment Greater than these” Mark 12:30-31 Catch-all answers For every single question--- to be sure On how to treat others, “If your enemy is hungry Feed him If he is thirsty Give him something to drink In doing this You will keep burning coals on his head DO NOT be overcome by evil But OVERCOME evil with GOOD” Romans 12:21-21 We have ALL the answers To live We just need to OPEN THE BOOK Robert P. JOURNAL=5-12-15=THE GRIND “FOR IF I do not go-the ADVOCATE will not come to you” John 16:7 WE are coming to about that TIME again-WHERE Jesus ASCENDS into heaven and leaves HIS SPIRIT-behind in us-to those who are his disciples-WHO want to LIVE in his SPIRIT-and his spirit-HIS HOLY SPIRIT-speaks through us-at least those of us who are trying MIGHTY HARD-to stay in HIS spirit-and trying to LIVE in his spirit UNFORTUNATELY-at times-the burdens of life become exceedingly heavy-and it is NOT always easy to stay in the SPIRIT—but it is through FAITH that we must know and recognize that the SPIRIT is as CLOSE as our next breadth-and is with us in the midst of life-or THE GRIND-as I have come to KNOW it And so as OUR LORD and SAVIOR ascends into heaven-PLEASE REMEMBER to slow yourself down and breathe in the SPIRIT-for he is as CLOSE as your next breadth it is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us-and a great day to ALLOW the SPIRIT OF JESUS to speak through you THE GRIND MANY of us Work in full-time M-thru-F jobs We struggle To get through the week By Wednesday We are worn out LOOKING for the weekend OUR week day jobs Are known as THE GRIND Do NOT let yourself Wear out KEEP your hunger and your thirst For God In your hearts and minds “BEWARE That your hearts Do not become drowsy For carousing and drunkenness And the anxieties of daily life” Luke 21:34 Do NOT let the daily grind Wear you out By KEEPING The hunger and the thirst for God FIRST-in your life It can SUSTAIN YOU Through all of your battles “They shall NOT hunger nor thirst Neither shall the heat Nor sun smite them For HE that hath mercy On them Shall lead them Even by The springs of water Shall he guide them” Isaiah 49:10 OVERCOME the grind Of life By SEEKING OUT GOD LET your hunger and thirst For God SUSTAIN YOU In every situation “BLESSED are they who hunger and Thirst for RIGHTEOUSNESS” Matthew 5:6 OVERCOME the grind By hungering and thirsting FOR GOD FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS I want GOOD things For my sisters For their families For my friends ALL GOOD PEOPLE I hunger and thirst For FAMILY That HELPS one another For a country That UNITES together For a world THAT WORKS TOGETHER Yet the daily grind Of the world Wears us all down That is WHY We need to hunger and thirst FOR GOD I look for COMMUNION with Christ And UNITY with the ONE GOD of LOVE For us ALL Dear Holy Spirit WHISPER the TRUTH of God's love The truth of GOD'S OWN SPIRIT To overcome the grind WE hunger and thirst for God “BEHOLD the days come Saith the Lord God That I will send a famine In the land Not a famine of bread Not a thirst for water But of HEARING The words of God” Amos 8:11 My friends WE LIVE In such a time A famine For the TRUE words of God Dear Lord-we pray That we OVERCOME The weekly grind By hungering and thirsting FOR THE WORDS OF GOD Robert P. JOURNAL=5-11-15=PERSISTENCE “I have told you this so that you nay NOT fall away” John 16:1 Jesus KNEW that it would be DIFFICULT for his disciples to HANG ON IN FAITH-He also knows that it is difficult for us-BUT no matter how difficult it does get-we MUST PERSIST-we must hang on IN FAITH WE ALL go through dry times in life-WHERE finding-and STAYING CLOSE to God is difficult-but we must PERSIST in prayer-NO MATTER how far away GOD does seem-During these times-we must REMIND ourselves that GOD ANDJESUS are truly with us-no matter how difficult it is-for us-to FEEL THE PRESENCE of God NO matter how long GOD seems to be gone-we must HANG ON IN FAITH-even IF it takes months or years to feel him again-SOME PEOPLE-like MOTHER TERESA-have enough FAITH to hang on-even without FEELING the presence of God So that is my PRAYER-that you-that me-can PERSIST in PRAYER AND FAITH-even when GOD does NOT feel so close it is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us-and a great day for hanging in there in FAITH-PERSISTING even in dry times-UNTIL we FEEL GOD'S PRESENCE once again-and CARRY it on to COMPLETION WITNESS 4-26-13 PERSISTENCE We are Never going to be perfect As our Lord and Savior Was perfect We are human We have limitations We have weaknesses That doesn’t mean We should give up And keep striving To get better It just means That we must recognize That we are NOT God Accept it Keep learning more about ourselves And keep ourselves moving In that positive direction To becomes as close to God---and Christ As we can---for us PERSISTENCE Do you know what persistence means Persistence means to--- Refuse to give up It means to persevere It means That when we slip up From time to time And we will It means for us To continue to stand firm in our faith---to persevere It means for us To continue to believe In God’s plan and love for us It means that we should NOT LISTEN To those internal and external voices That are telling us That we don’t measure up And that we never will WE MUST KNOW That when we begin to doubt ourselves That GOD STILL BELIEVES in us “My sheep listen to my voice I KNOW THEM---and they know me I give them eternal life And they shall NEVER PERISH NO ONE can snatch them Out of my hand My Father Who has given them to me Is GREATER THAN ALL NO ONE can snatch them Out of my Father’s hand I and the Father are ONE” John 10:27-30 So we must persist In our faith We must persevere In our faith It is Our persistence and perseverance That touches God---NOT OUR PERFECTION As he knows---he ALONE is perfect “I thank my God Every time I remember you In all my prayers For all of you I always pray with joy Because of our partnership In the Gospel From the first day until now Being confident of this That he who began A good work in you Will carry it on to completion Until the day of Christ Jesus” 1 Philippians 3-6 PERSIST AND PERSEVERE in faith God loves you Robert P. JOURNAL=5-10-15=OVERCOMING DISCOURAGEMENT “As the Father loves me-I ALSO LOVE YOU-REMAIN IN ME” John 15:9 Have you ever become discouraged with life-maybe LOST a little bit of HOPE-wondering HOW you are going to get through it-WELL we can—IF we make our HOME in God-make our home in Jesus Jesus was CONSISTENTLY AWARE of his FATHER'S GREAT LOVE for him-maybe that is HOW he was able to LOVE so generously and selflessly-but we can do that too-for GOD OUR FATHER loves us in the SAME way MAYBE when we become discouraged with life-WHEN we are having difficulty LOVING the people in our lives-we have LOST TOUCH with our FATHER'S GREAT LOVE for us-perhaps we have become too busy or too distracted and are NOT PRAYING with our PURE HEART-or reflecting on GOD-daily within our lives Jesus tells us to to “REMAIN IN MY LOVE”-IF we do that-we will be stable-and we WILL BE PERSISTENT in our love for God and OUR LOVE FOR OTHERS-In other words-make your HOME in God-MAKE your home in Jesus-LET THEIR LOVE for you and their love for others-FLOW THROUGH you-to EVERYONE you TOUCH with your life IF we really make our home in GOD-and our home in Jesus-we really can't help but to OVERCOME the discouragement we face in life-and we really can't help but to LOVE OTHERS it is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us-and a great day for overcoming the discouragement in our lives-by SELFLESSLY ABIDING in GOD'S LOVE for us JOURNAL WITNESS 7-19-13 OVERCOMING DISCOURAGEMENT We often become Discouraged or disappointed On our life’s journey Sometimes it’s just The ordinary things of life Our job isn’t going right We score badly on a test In school Someone looks at us The wrong way Or says the wrong thing At the wrong time Or it could be Something more major Like a health diagnosis Bad finances Or a relationship breaking apart In ANY case The question becomes How do we overcome being discouraged And WHERE Do we find HOPE In the book of Joshua God appoints Joshua To succeed Moses And Joshua is wondering If he has what it takes AS YOU AND I Sometimes wonder IF we have what it takes To overcome our obstacles And SUCCEED in life God tells Joshua “Have I not commanded you Be strong and courageous Do not be terrified DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED For the Lord your God Will be with you WHEREVER YOU GO” Joshua 1:9 And I tell you BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS In whatever obstacles You are facing in life WIN FROM WITHIN WE HAVE what it takes The Lord your God The Lord my God OUR GOD IS WITH US Of whom or what Should we be afraid “WHY are you so downcast Oh my soul Why so disturbed within me PUT YOUR HOPE IN GOD For I will yet praise him My Savior-and my God” Psalm 42:5-6 So in Psalm 42 We find the answer To being discouraged PUT YOUR HOPE IN GOD And WHAT EXACTLY Is this thing called HOPE It is KNOWING That when we run into discouragement And into difficulty That tomorrow can be-and WILL BE BETTER If we just TRUST IN GOD “Therefore Prepare your minds for action Be self-controlled Set your hope Rely on the GRACE To be given you When Jesus Christ is REVEALED” 1 Peter 1:13-14 And Jesus Christ Has been REVEALED To you and me So we have the POWER WITHIN us TO OVERCOME every discouragement in our life You have WHAT IT TAKES WIN FROM WITHIN Find your hope IN GOD Robert P. JOURNAL=5-9-15=VISION-SECOND SIGHT “During the night-Paul had a VISION-A Macedonian stood before him and IMPLORED HIM with these words-'COME OVER to Macedonia-and HELP US'” Acts 16:9 HAVE you ever had a VISION for your life-OR had you a vision when YOUNG-and your life has TURNED OUT exactly as planned-I have to tell you-IF your life has turned out exactly as planned-YOU ARE UNLIKE the rest of us-who have had to MAKE a mistake-or two (or many more) ALONG THE WAY WITH the EXCEPTION of Jesus himself-I don't think anybody's PLAN for their life has gone exactly as planned-and even Jesus asked for the cup to BYPASS him-but he had the FAITH to say to his Father-”NOT MY WILL BUT YOURS” In the above example-Paul had a VISION of a MACEDONIAN calling for HELP-and this vision INSPIRED Paul and his disciples to CROSS the AEGEAN SEA to the city of Philippi-and with that the GOSPEL arrived in Europe-thus the GOOD NEWS challenged the pagan religion of ROME-and though PERSECUTED-continued on its worldwide mission SO IF you have ever made a MISTAKE-it is TIME to FORGIVE yourself-NONE of us get it right 100% of the time-but WHAT IS IMPORTANT-is that we get it RIGHT in the LONG RUN-and FULFILL GOD'S MISSION for our life WHERE is your BIBLE right now? PICK it up ONCE in awhile-it has a WEALTH of answers in it: ANSWERS LIKE: LOVE God and your neighbor-RESPECT OTHERS and LIVE with KINDNESS-honesty-integrity-and TRY to bring PEACE and UNITY to the world LIVE the TIME-tested message of Jesus-HE HAD VISION it is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us-and a great day to forgive yourself for the PAST-and BEGIN LIVING ANEW with the VISION OF GOD AND Jesus VISION-SECOND SIGHT Do you think God has vision for your LIFE VISION is defined as the faculty Or state of being able to SEE: A SUPERNATURAL apparition Maybe call it DESTINY Maybe call it FATE But I BELIEVE That God has a PLAN for all of our lives And it is ALL GOOD If we-just cooperate And if we don't cooperate GOD GIVES us another chance Call it SECOND SIGHT-if you will Like Saint Paul Who when he was Saul Didn't get it right But in SECOND SIGHT-As Paul He went on To be-perhaps the GREATEST APOSTLE of Christ That the world has ever seen “So then-King Agrippa-I was NOT disobedient To the VISION from heaven” Acts 26:19 LIKE Saint Paul I did not get it right The first time I was CONVINCED That God's plan FOR MY LIFE Was through a family And children of my own But NOW I AM CONVINCED That I-as all of you BELONG to the FAMILY OF GOD And we ARE to BUILD UP GOD'S KINGDOM In this world “BEHOLD-the Kingdom of God IS AMONG YOU” Luke 17:21 SCIENCE has made Wonderful strides In the partial and nearly complete restoration Of human beings' sight But of course GOD'S PLAN Is even more complete Of course-we have Peter and Paul and ALL the other apostles and disciples Who after getting it wrong Went on To BUILD the KINGDOM SECOND SIGHT And it is NOT ONLY for our churches today But it is ENCUMBENT On you and me To do WHAT we can In thought In word And in deed To build up the kingdom Maybe you Are like me And ONLY can do it Through the written word Due to a disability-or a time factor Or some other limitation REMEMBER “The PEN Is mightier than the sword” Regardless Of what it may be YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS are wanted In the building up Of the KINGDOM GOD'S VISION IS PERFECT But for us It may need A SECOND SIGHT OUR VISION Can become PERFECT Through the HEALING SIGHT Of our Lord “PRECIOUS in the sight of the LORD Is the death of his saints” Psalm 116:15 NOT only the death Of his saints BUT ALSO THE LIVES Dear Lord-WE PRAY That when We get the original plan Of our lives wrong That you BESTOW on us Like you did for Peter and Paul SECOND SIGHT And with another chance WE SEE our lives With the 20/20 VISION That you gave us And we USE this gift IN THE BUILDING UP Of the kingdom Of God Robert p. JOURNAL=5-7-16=LOYALTY-THE FATHER OF LIES “As the FATHER loves me-so I ALSO LOVE YOU-REMAIN in me” John 15:9 God loves you-DO YOU believe that-I REALLY DO BELIEVE that GOD LOVES ME-and you-IN FACT-GOD loves each and every one of us---ONE of my favorite sayings has been-”GOD LOVES YOU!-and so do I”-for some time-I was totally surprised WHEN I saw a plaque and coffee cup that reads exactly that THIS MESSAGE should make us feel GOOD and at PEACE-and RETURN OUR LOVE to God-yet when difficult circumstances or illness come upon us-I think-ONCE AGAIN-we truly question whether or not God really does loves us-IF GOD really does LOVE us-why did this person die-or WHY did God ALLOW this to happen to us-maybe even OUR LOVE for God wanes- There are MANY KINDS of love in this world-but GOD'S LOVES for us-is ALWAYS there-regardless of the circumstances of our life-and our LOVE FOR GOD must be the same-SO WHEN you are facing spiritually-physically-or mentally hurting situations-we MUST NOT deny the reality of GOD'S LOVE for us-and we must be CONSISTENT in our love for God and CONTINUE to BELIEVE and PROFESS in GOD'S UNCONDITIONAL LOVE for us LOYALTY/? THE FATHER OF LIES LOYALTY IS one of the single Greatest qualities That we can have In a mate Or a FRIEND LOYALTY is defined as “The state or quality of being loyal FAITHFUL to commitments or obligations FIDELITY And that is WHAT OUR GOD is to us FAITHFUL-LOYAL-LOVING towards us Because we are his children And he LOVES us As a father or mother would love their own children “YET to all who received him To those who believed In his name He gave the right To BECOME children of God- CHILDREN born NOT out of a natural descent NOR of human decision OR a husbands' will BUT BORN OF GOD” John 1:12-13 That's our GOD LOYAL to a fault HE BELIEVES in us The same way OUR OWN FATHER or mother would And we should be loyal Back to God In the same way BY LOVING GOD BY LOVING OTHERS And by Forgiving others “I DON'T THINK GOD wants me to die But if he does PLEASE BLESS my mother and father, my family, and my friends IT would be harder on them I would be gone BUT if GOD wants me to live I would live FOR my family, my friends, And for all people everywhere” (myself on my deathbed when I was 22) Have I KEPT the commitment HAVE I Been LOYAL to it Well I am alive ALMOST 37 years later And while I don't have a mate To be loyal to OR to be loyal to me I have MANY Family and friends WHO have stood up FOR ME LOYALTY YOU BET And I have To wonder IF the reason WHY there is so many divorces SO many broken friendships IF it isn't Because of The lack of God IN OUR WORLD People listening to THE FATHER of lies Instead of the FATHER of- THE GOD OF LOVE Speaking about the devil JESUS said (after being accused of being the devil), “You belong to your father The devil And you want to carry out Your father's desire He was a murderer From the beginning NOT HOLDING to the truth For there is No truth in him WHEN he lies He speaks his native language FOR he is a liar AND the father of lies” John 8:44-45 LOYALTY=one of he greatest qualities We can possess I HOPE You are LOYAL to God To your family and friendships And I HOPE That I am too Robert P. JOURNAL=5-6-15=TIME=HONOR IT “Just as a branch cannot bear fruit on its own-UNLESS-it REMAINS on the vine so neither can you- unless you REMAIN IN ME” John 15:4 WE WERE MADE for finding God in our lives-and once we find him-we are to HOLD on to him-ALL the days of our life-and NEVER LET GO GOD grants us 70 years-80 if are strong-and some of us-even get a little more TIME than that-but we should TREASURE our time with God-treasure our time with others-LOVE-LOVE-LOVE-as much as you can-for that is THE ONLY THING that makes a lasting difference in this world-and we KNOW-through the life of Jesus Christ that LOVE NEVER DIES And when life gets tough-WHEN life gets difficult-SIMPLY SERVE your TIME on your knees-but NEVER let go OF THE PRESENCE of God-he really IS the VINE-and we really are the branches-he will lead us back to our feet ABIDE IN GOD-abide in Christ-GIVE all your time to LOVING THEM-and LOVING OTHERS-and your LIFE-your time on earth-WILL MAKE a lasting difference in this world it is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us and a great day for giving OUR TIME to God-who will DRAW US closer and closer to him-ALL the days of our life TIME-HONOR IT We live in an INFINITE world Of TIME We don't know WHEN it began And we don't know IF and when it will end UNLESS GOD Decides to end it But we also know The amount of time We have in this world IS FINITE OUR LIVES will one day end TIME=HONOR IT LIVE your life with love Live your life in honesty And with INTEGRITY LOVE OFTEN-forgive much MAKE this world a better place “For a thousand years In your sight Are as yesterday........” Psalm 90:4 IF you ever have the time Read ALL of psalm 90 It is a MESSAGE About the beautiful fragility Of human life For God TIME IS INFINITE But for us Whose time is limited We are always LOSING it-wasting it-and then wishing We could make it LAST FOREVER ONE THING is certain At some point In our life We will run out of time SO TREASURE it-HONOR IT Make the most of it Time is limited Time is precious Make the most of it Honor your person LOVE everyone LOVE everything Even if you don't like Someone or something “The Lord is a refuge For the oppressed A STRONGHOLD In times of trouble” Psalm 9:9 He has certainly Been that for me WITHOUT GOD I wouldn't Even be here “MY TIMES Are in your hands Deliver me From my enemies And from those Who pursue me” Psalm 31:15 TIME-TREASURE IT-HONOR IT It does not Last forever It can be gone In the wink Of an eye However old you are Make the most of your time Starting tomorrow “The LENGTH Of our days Is seventy years- Or eighty IF we are strong” Psalm 90:10 Dear lord-WE PRAY Let us never forget That we Are the WORK of your hands HELP US to HONOR our time the passing of hours And days As we MOVE Into your world OF ETERNITY WE HONOR you Lord And we honor the TIME That you have given us Robert P. JOURNAL=5-5-15=REBUILD MY CHURCH “LET ALL your works give you thanks-O LORD and let your faithful ones BLESS YOU” Psalm 145:10 Jesus was GOD ON EARTH walking the streets-towns-and VILLAGES of Israel-over 2000 years ago-Many FEEL that Saint Francis was the CLOSEST THING to Jesus that ever walked the earth-HE was even afflicted with the stigmata-the sufferings and wounds of Christ He was a BLESSING to the Lord-HOW about you-how about me-DO WE WANT to be BLESSINGS to the Lord too-at first-Saint Francis thought he was to physically REBUILD the church-at San DAMIANO-but in fact-he was BEING CALLED to REBUILD the moral integrity of the church I KNOW many people physically REBUILDING churches-and I think that is great-but I THINK-like Saint Francis-more than that-WE ARE BEING CALLED to once again UNITE the church beyond our theological differences-HOW have we gotten it so wrong for SO LONG SO WHEREVER your talents are-physically reconstructing churches-BUILDING new churches-or working to UNITE OUR CHURCH under GOD-and under Jesus-I BELIEVE-GOD CALLS on us to USE our talents and be a BLESSING TO THE LORD it is A GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us and a great for LOVING GOD-for LOVING OTHERS and a great day for working to REBUILD GOD'S and Jesus' church-and being a BLESSING TO THE LORD REBUILD MY CHURCH Approximately 1,000 years ago Saint Francis-heard the words “Francis-go and rebuild my church Which is falling into ruins” Saint Francis Heard these words While kneeling before the crucifix At the church of San Damiano He took these words literally And with the HELP Of his friends Began repairing the church building Only later Did he realize That God Was asking him to rebuild The SPIRITUAL LIFE Of the church Which he did-spiritually By founding the FRANCISCANS The Poor Clares And taking vowels of poverty REJECTING all privileges And following Christ And the gospel Today-32-or 33,000 Christian churches The Catholic abuse scandal And many atrocities Over the years In the name of religion Has caused great distrust Of religion In secular society And it is UP TO each and everyone Of us IN TODAY'S WORLD To REBUILD the church REBUILD the trust And we do so By living lives That reflect God That reflect Christ In our every day lives “Bob, John, Richard , Frank, etc., etc., etc., Suzie, Carol, Lin, Lori, etc., etc., etc., GO AND REBUILD MY CHURCH” Don't look to anyone else THE FUTURE is upon us And it is up to us NOW To REBUILD THE CHURCH Love, forgive, BE KIND To everyone Leave no room for doubt BUILD UNITY “HOW good it is WHEN brothers (and sisters) LIVE TOGETHER IN UNITY” Psalm 133:1 And Jesus preached: “I in them And you in me May they be brought To COMPLETE UNITY To let the world know That you have sent me And have loved them Even As you have loved me” John 17:23 Pope Francis Is off to a great start In trying To rebuild the church He knows that LOVE IS INCLUSIVE And it is Up to each and every one Of us To reach across theological differences And build-REBUILD ONE church-OUT OF LOVE “IT is he Who gave some To be apostles Some to be prophets Some to be evangelists And some To be Pastors and teachers To PREPARE God's people For words of service So that The body of Christ May be built up Until WE ALL reach UNITY In the faith And in the knowledge Of the SON OF GOD And become mature Attaining the WHOLE measure Of the FULLNESS OF CHRIST” Ephesians 4:11-13 LIKE Saint Francis Before us It falls to each And everyone to “GO AND REBUILD MY CHURCH” Robert P. JOURNAL=5-04-15=FALSE IDOLS “WE PROCLAIM to you good news that you should TURN from these idols to the LIVING GOD........” Acts 14:15 ARE you putting anyone or anything ABOVE God and family in your life? IF you are-I have some NEWS for you-YOU are worshiping idols above God and FAMILY-for there is NOTHING more important than GOD AND FAMILY in this world-in your life In the above scenario-the Lycaonians TRY to make Paul and Barnabas into REPLACEMENT GODS-and that is something-we are NEVER supposed to do-WE FIXATE on the POPE-we fixate on church leaders-we WORSHIP on sports athletes and actors/and actresses-but it IS ONLY God and Jesus who can make the DIFFERENCE in our lives-who can solve-or HELP US SOLVE our problems WE WANT our spouse or significant other to be our “soul mate”-and we want our friends to ALWAYS put us first-or to FILL our empty spirit-but it is ONLY GOD-ONLY Jesus that can sustain this burden-and after them-OUR FAMILY-they are the ones who ARE-or at least-who should be the ones there for us-DON'T LOOK ELSEWHERE to fill this void The apostles don't condemn the Lycaonians for getting it wrong-but they do APPEAL to them to ask the RIGHT QUESTIONS: WHO will heal me? Who will SAVE me? AND the ANSWER is: ONLY GOD-ONLY JESUS-with the assistance of our families it is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us-and a GREAT DAY for putting GOD AND FAMILY ABOVE everything else in this world WITNESS 9-16-13 FALSE IDOLS Do you know what idolatry is Basically it is Putting something before God And it has been going on Since the beginning of time Satan said to Eve, “Did God really say “You must not eat from any tree In the garden” Eve responds, “We may eat from trees in the garden But God did say “You must not eat fruit From the fruit That is in the middle of the garden And you must not touch it Or you will die” Eve and Adam Chose evil, chose Satan, chose fruit Over the Word of God Strike 1 Fast forward about 1400 years And we find the Lord Saying to Moses, “Tell the Israelites this: You have seen for yourselves That I have spoken to you from heaven Do not make any gods To be along side me Do not make for yourselves Gods of silver or gods of gold” Exodus 20:22-23 As the Lord is finishing speaking To Moses on Mount Sinai Aaron and the Israelite people Are finishing building a golden calf To put on an altar to worship Then they said, “These are your gods O Israel Who brought you up out of Egypt” Exodus 32:4 Moses goes back down the mountain Only to find the people Worshiping the golden calf Moses becomes so angry That he destroys the two tablets of testimony “The tablets were the work of God The writing was the writing of God Engraved on the tablets” Exodus 32:16 Fast forward about 600 years And we find God himself In the form of Jesus Christ Walking the earth He teaches us The two greatest commandments He teaches us About forgiveness He teaches us the Beatitudes And gives us The Sermon on the Mount Only to be betrayed By a friend---with a kiss For 30 pieces of silver But he leaves with us the SPIRIT The third person of the TRINITY Known as our counselor And active in the lives of his believers But how many “TRUE” believers are left? We are worshiping The gods of materialism The gods of sexual promiscuity The gods of pornography The gods of drug and alcohol addiction And Lord only knows what else EVERY DEPRAVITY Known to man I beseech you-me-ALL of us To return to God And IF you haven’t already done so Put GOD AND FAMILY FIRST “God is spirit And his worshipers Must worship in spirit and truth” Have fun with your life But keep God where he should be NUMBER 1 IN YOUR LIFE Robert P. JOURNAL=5-3-15=BE KIND TO ONE ANOTHER “Then Barnabas took charge of him(Paul) and brought him to the APOSTLES........” Acts 9:27 ARE YOU a sensitive person? IF you are-contrary to the opinion of many people in today's world-it is A VERY GOOD THING-sensitivity is KINDNESS-concern-and AWARENESS of peoples' needs and feelings And it is STEPPING FORWARD in HELPING a person meet their needs before they even KNOW what their needs are-and this is what Barnabas did for Paul-Barnabas was a FRIEND of the 12 apostles-and Barnabas took RESPONSIBILITY for introducing Paul to the TWELVE WITHOUT this SENSITIVE INTERCESSION by Barnabas-PAUL may have NEVER MET the twelve-for they were AFRAID of him-for his former life of PERSECUTING Christians-Barnabas' approval of Paul made all the difference for Paul going on to be a WORLD-CLASS PREACHER-and affecting millions of people EVEN TODAY WHO has HELPED you in becoming the person and Christian you are today? WHO HAVE YOU HELPED with your kindness and spirituality in helping another person on their JOURNEY through life? SENSITIVITY is a beautiful virtue-and NOT a lot of people seem to possess it anymore-WHO can you reach out to-WHO may FEEL ALONE-to be a part of your group it is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us-and a great for being SENSITIVE and KIND to someone in NEED BE KIND TO ONE ANOTHER In chapter 22 Of Saint Matthew's GOSPEL Jesus gives us The two greatest commandments Of course The first commandment is: “LOVE the Lord your God With all your heart With all your soul And with ALL your mind” Matthew 22:37 “And the second Is like Unto it Thou shalt love thy neighbor As thyself” Matthew 22:39 And INCLUDED In LOVING our neighbor Is BEING KIND to that person “For you have said My KINDNESS Is established forever” Psalm 89:3 In other words Be kind to everyone AT ALL TIMES VERY difficult to do But something We can all aspire to do And while We should be kind To everyone We should be especially kind To the NEEDY “He who despises his neighbors SINS BUT BLESSED Is he Who is kind to the NEEDY” Proverbs 14:21 “He who OPPRESSES the poor Shows contempt For their maker But whoever IS KIND to the needy HONORS GOD” Proverbs 14:31 And it doesn't often Take a lot of effort To be KIND to someone A warm smile A handshake A HUG Maybe a birthday Or a get-well card Just some little action That says: “I KNOW What you are going through And I know What you have been through” Just some little action That lets a person Know that You CARE about them And in James 1 James tells us WHAT PURE RELIGION IS “RELIGION that God Our Father Accepts as PURE AND FAULTLESS Is this: TO LOOK AFTER orphans and widows In their distress And to keep oneself From being polluted By the world” James 1:27 So LOVE ONE ANOTHER and always remember To keep being KIND Robert P. JOURNAL=5-2-15=WHERE DID OUR HOPE GO “So they shook the dust from their feet in PROTEST against them and went to Iconium” Acts 13:51 WE ALL face some very difficult situations in life-and ONE of the questions we MUST ASK ourselves-IS-WHEN should we leave and WHEN should we STAY? This is what Paul and Barnabas were facing from the people who were hearing their preaching-they were FACING a lot of verbal abuse-FINALLY-the two had had enough rejection so they left for another city I THINK what we NEED to ask ourselves-when we are deciding to stay or go-IS WHETHER-we are in actuality-making a difference in the life of another-and at what COST There is NO SIMPLE ANSWER as to when to leave and when to stay-but one thing I ask myself is: AM I actually making a difference in the life of another-some people are just are just plain users-and we need to recognize WHEN we are just being used-we can actually tell ONE PERSON recently told me that they “BELIEVE IN GOD” because of me-So GIVING another person HOPE AGAIN always means something-but ALL CREDIT ALWAYS GOES to the SPIRIT of God-because the SPIRIT puts you in situations to make a difference-IF YOU BUT ASK ONE thing I KNOW IS: you should NEVER accept abuse of any kind-for this is NOT GOD'S WILL for anyone-much thought must be GIVEN-and sometimes we may even NEED the help of a SPIRITUAL MENTOR-before making s decision STAY CLOSE to God-stay close to Christ-and STAY close to the SPIRIT-and NEVER let another human being take your HOPE away-and ALWAYS try to encourage and BUILD HOPE in others it is A GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us-and a great day for BUILDING HOPE in another human being-by giving them the HOPE OF GOD and the HOPE of Christ-and ENCOURAGING THEM WITNESS 1-12-13 WHERE DID OUR HOPE GO I road The public bus today Saw all the blank stares Saw the long and desolate faces Saw the look of hopelessness In so so many of us I ask myself I ask you WHERE DID OUR HOPE GO Perhaps you are Putting your hope In all the wrong things Hope is NOT visible It is the looking As to what is to come It is KNOWING that There is something better “For in this hope we were saved But hope that is seen Is no hope at all Who hopes for What he already has But if we hope For what we do not yet have We WAIT for it patiently” Romans 8:24 Perhaps you have a chronic illness No known cause---no known cure God forbid Maybe even a terminal illness Perhaps you are looking For a scientific miracle I wish for one for you too Just remember All miracles begin and end with THE POWER of God WHERE DID OUR HOPE GO “Put your hope in God For I will yet praise him My Savior and my God” Psalm 42:5 Perhaps you have Serious financial difficulties Can’t feed your family Or even yourself PUT YOUR HOPE IN GOD “Command those who are rich In this present world Not to be arrogant Not to put their hope in wealth Which is so uncertain Bu to put their hope in God” 1 Timothy 6:17 Where did our hope go Perhaps we are putting it in All the wrong places PUT YOUR HOPE IN GOD People have failed you Broken relationships abound A broken family An estranged parent or child PUT YOUR HOPE IN GOD “Not only so But we also rejoice in our sufferings Because we know that suffering produces perseverance Perseverance---character And character---hope And hope DOES NOT DISAPPOINT US Because God has pored out his love Into our hearts By the Holy Spirit Whom he has given us” Romans 5:3-5 WHERE DID OR HOPE GO Nowhere---maybe it has been Just a little bit replaced PUT YOUR HOPE IN GOD Robert P.
