GOING BEYOND MAN'S LAWS INTO GOD'S

GOING BEYOND MAN'S LAWS INTO GOD'S There is a set of rules For every aspect of humanity There are local laws There are state laws There are federal laws And there are church rules But there is also a MORALITY That lives DEEP within each and every one of us And it tells us truly What is right and wrong And then there are GOD'S LAWS Which are truly Going beyond man's Into another dimension This is WHERE we find Jesus today In the XIII chapter Of Saint Luke's gospel “But the leader Of the synagogue Indignant that Jesus Had cured on the sabbath Said to the crowd in reply, 'There are six days When work should be done Come on those days To be cured NOT on the sabbath day' The Lord said to them In reply, 'HYPOCRITES'” Luke 13:14-15 The sabbath was serious business And those that followed it Felt Jesus Was making a mockery of it IF he was A great spiritual leader WHY was he breaking the rules? But Jesus UNDERSTOOD something That the church leaders did not He understood who he was And he understood That laws was The BEGINNING of morality NOT the end He understood That he had to go BEYOND human laws To get the right outcome And we need to understand That too In the above story Jesus heals a woman Who had been crippled for eighteen years By a spirit WHICH one of us Wouldn't want to be HEALED After being sick for eighteen years Sabbath day or not Or which one of us Wouldn't want our son or daughter Or relative or friend healed GOING BEYOND man's laws Into God's “DELIGHT is in The law of the Lord And who meditates On the law day and night” Psalm 1:2 “The law of the Lord Is PERFECT- Refreshing the soul” Psalm 19:7 “The law of their God Is in their hearts Their feet do not slip” Psalm 37:31 It is not enough To just follow the rules We must GO BEYOND To do what God is asking us In every situation A great example of this is In Luke chapter 10, “The PARABLE of the GOOD SAMARITAN” The priest and the Levite Pass by and do nothing But the SAMARITAN stops- Bandages him- Takes him to the inn- And pays the innkeeper To take care of him Until he returns The Samaritan was thought To be morally inferior Yet here he was Doing what was MORALLY RIGHT And going the extra mile Dear Lord-we PRAY- That as followers of Jesus You always HELP US To go BEYOND man's laws Live according to GOD'S LAWS And always do What is morally right Just as you yourself Always did In Jesus' name Robert P.
