PRAYING FOR A CHANGED HEART= FROM TRANSFORMATION-TO SURRENDER I think ALL true Christians PRAY for a changed heart In today's world PRAYS for a heart That LIVES with God and his VIRTUES Not living in this world Dear Lord-we pray For you to CHANGE US From living in a world Of sin SINS like the seven deadly sins: Pride-greed-lust-envy- Gluttony-Wrath-and sloth INTO a person LIVING with the FRUITS Of the HOLY SPIRIT-like what Is in Galatians 5:22 Dear Lord-PLEASE CHANGE us into: “LOVE-joy-peace-forbearance-KINDNESS- Goodness-faithfulness-GENTLENESS-and Self-control” What a person we would be IF we possessed ALL Of these qualities But transformation doesn't come All at once A CHANGED HEART Comes in a series of small steps “If you really CHANGE your ways And your actions And deal with each other-JUSTLY If you do NOT oppress The foreigner The fatherless-or the widow And do not shed INNOCENT BLOOD in this place ….....” Jeremiah 7:5-8 CHANGE your ways Be TRANSFORMED by God Into a person and a creature OF GOD'S NOT belonging to this world BECOME a creature That is TURNED INTO LOVE Just like Jesus-himself “Jesus said in reply 'You do not know What you are asking- CAN you drink the chalice That I am going to drink?” Matthew 20:22 This was Jesus' RESPONSE To the/a MOTHER'S REQUEST- The mother of James and John That they sit at his right- And at his left hand-WAS And they did drink From the cup After being CHANGED Through total transformation According to Christ's and God's WILL And YOU AND I Will drink of the cup also AFTER totally SURRENDERING our will To God's “I will give thanks To you Lord With ALL my heart I will tell Of all your wonderful deeds” Psalm 9:1 “Let LOVE and FAITHFULNESS Never leave you BIND them around your neck WRITE them On the TABLET Of your heart” Proverbs 3:3 Dear Lord-write your laws OF LOVE-FORGIVENESS-and KINDNESS On my heart I SURRENDER ALL to you CHANGE me into LOVE itself Just as Jesus-YOUR SON-was Dear Lord- WE your APOSTLES and disciples of today Are FULL of good thoughts We pray to be TRANSFORMED In small steps-into LOVE- Just like Jesus was We give up our willpower And PRAY for a changed heart Into love Totally RELYING on your GRACE O LORD Dear Lord-in your name LET IT BE Robert P.
