There once
Was a famous person
Who played cards
All the time
Word had got around town
From a reliable source
That the world
Was going to end
People were running here
People were
Running there
The whole town
Was in a panic
Except this one man
He just kept
Playing cards
Finally a woman
Approached him and said,
“Charles, don’t you have
Something to do
Some affairs
To put in order”
Charles looked at the woman
And said,
“What could be more important
Than playing cards
With our Lord”
