JESUS=OUR MODEL ON VALENTINES DAY
(AND EVERY DAY)




GOD is the author
OF LOVE
And Jesus was his SON


The example he sent us
To teach us
HOW TO LOVE


NOT ONLY on Valentine's day
BUT every day of our lives


“And a voice from heaven said,


'THIS is my SON
Whom I love
With him
I am well pleased” Matthew 3:17


TODAY is Valentine's Day
A day
In which
Many people
Have problems with


And the REASON
People have problems with today
Is that
They don't feel accepted
They don't feel LOVED


IF Jesus taught us just one thing
Through his life-IT WAS LOVE


He LIVED his life for love
He died for love


And he lived his life
WITH COMPASSION


He fed the poor
He healed the sick
He reached out
To the UNWANTED


He reduced the Ten Commandments
Into two


An EXPERT in law was trying to test Jesus,
“Teacher-which is
The GREATEST commandment in the law?”


“Jesus replied,
'LOVE the Lord your God
With all your heart
And with all your soul
And with all your mind


This IS the first
And greatest commandment


And the second is
Like it


LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR
As yourself


ALL the law and the prophets
HANG ON these commandments” Matthew 22:36-40


So WHEN
Your child is left off
The valentine list


WHEN you are breaking up
From that spouse
You once loved


WHEN you are thinking
About your spouse
Who has passed on


GO to the BIBLE
And read about LOVE


Specifically 1 Corinthians 13:4
GIVES a definition of love
(“LOVE is patient-LOVE is KIND........”)


And 1 John 4:7-21
(TELLS us that GOD IS LOVE)


“Let us LOVE ONE ANOTHER
For love
Is of God
And EVERY one
That loves
Is BORN OF GOD
And should KNOW GOD” 1 John 4:7


SOMEHOW-in today's culture
This has become a day
That emphasizes
A purely ROMANTIC notion
Of love
(red roses and chocolate candies)


But I tell you
That that IS NOT SO


Any “TRUE”love
(parental-spousal-friend-or LOVE OF GOD)


Has obligations
BEYOND candy and flowers


ALONG with the joy
That love offers
Comes hardships and tragedies


GOD IS LOVE
Jesus is love
THEY stick with you
Through the hard
And difficult times


GOD IS PERFECT LOVE


Jesus was
The PERFECT EXAMPLE of love
That walked this earth


“EVERY good gift
And every PERFECT GIFT
Is from ABOVE” James 1:17


GOD IS LOVE
Jesus IS LOVE


And they BOTH LOVE YOU
