TODAY-we BEGIN the celebration of Lent with ASH WEDNESDAY-I URGE you to COMMIT to GOD this LENT like never before-this world NEEDS GOD-FOLLOWERS and Christ-followers-it NEEDS whole-hearted disciples like NEVER BEFORE-to put it another way and to paraphrase a FAMOUS SONG-”what the world needs now is LOVE-SWEET LOVE”


THIS LENT-commit to GOD with your whole heart-and commit to loving others with your whole heart-GIVE ALL of yourself in whatever way you have to give-TIME-MONEY-PRAYER-make this LENT the Lent of your life-in order to move CLOSER to the goal-that of being whole-hearted 21^st century disciples of God and Jesus Christ


it is A GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us-and a great day for BEGINNING to move even closer to GOD




GIVING TO GOD


Time---money---prayer
Give to God
And give to others
Whatever and whenever you can
For if it is
Given with the proper spirit
God can make it grow---100 fold


“For if the willingness is there
The gift is acceptable
According to what one has
Not according to what he does not”


Some of us
Have no money
Some of us
Have only time and prayer
And some of us
Have only prayer


But it does not matter
For if the willingness
Is there
It is a gift
Acceptable to God our loving Father


In Luke 21
Luke tells the story
Of Jesus seeing all the rich
Putting their gifts
In to the Temple treasury


He then saw a poor widow
Putting in 2 copper coins


He said,
“I tell you truth
This poor widow
Has put in more than
All the others


All these people
Gave their gifts
Out of their wealth
But she out of her poverty
Put in all she had
To live on”


Time---money---prayer
Give to God
And give to others
All of
What you can
And God our loving Father
Will reward you
According to God’s master plan


“I the Lord search the heart
And examine the mind
To reward a man
According to his conduct
According to what his deeds deserve” Jeremiah 17:10


Time---money---prayer
Give it to God
And give it to others
ALL of what you can
