Of OUR baby Jesus


Let it LIFT our faith HIGHER

LIFT IT HIGHER!


STILL the theme of conversion=
The theme
Of SPIRITUAL RENEWAL
Is strongly present


And Saint Paul urges us
“To put on
The Lord Jesus Christ
And make NO PROVISION
For the desires
Of the flesh” Romans 13:14


We are always SADDENED
By the revelation of sexual abuse
Of children


ESPECIALLY by priests and bishops
Within the CATHOLIC CHURCH


So the NEED for spiritual
Renewal on the part
Of us all
Is especially CLEAR


So this ADVENT=let the
SCRIPTURES=urge you to LIFT
YOUR FAITH HIGHER


As we PRAY for all of
Those in NEED for forgiveness
And those in need
To have their lives-
HELPED in being rebuilt


“But may the righteous
Be glad=
And rejoice before God


May they be happy
And JOYFUL” Psalm 68:3


“BE JOYFUL in hope
Patient in affliction
Faithful in prayer


Share with
The Lord's people
Who are in need


Practice hospitality” Romans 12:12-13


Yes the season of ADVENT
Can LIFT US HIGHER


With the positive messages
Of the Old Testament=and
The INSPIRING EXAMPLES
Of the HOLY FAMILY


They can NOURISH our hearts
And INSPIRE us
To use our time and energy


To BUILD a more JUST
And peaceful world


Let us all LIFT OUR FAITH

Before Jesus
There was John
Andrew was a disciple of John


One day
Jesus was walking
Beside the Sea of Galilee
He saw two brothers
Who were fishermen
And he said to them,


“Come follow me
And I will make you fishers of men”


They immediately
Laid down their polls
And decided
To follow this mysterious man


Later on
Andrew was the one
Who found the little boy
With the two fish
And the five barley loaves


And immediately
A miracle was done


After Jesus’ Resurrection
We don’t know where
But we know
He preached God’s word
Wherever he could


Today
There are many churches
Named in his honor
And he is
The patron Saint of Scotland and Russia


Tradition states
If you say a certain prayer
Between today and Christmas ( 15 times )
A miracle may be possible


Today, November 30^th, is his feast day

BE COMPASSIONATE=FEEL THE PAIN OF OTHERS

BE COMPASSIONATE=
FEEL THE PAIN OF OTHERS


Jesus was nothing-if not COMPASSIONATE


He HEALED-
Almost everyone that asked


He PRAYED for those
Who were lost=including his own cousin
John the Baptist


He was so sorrowful
In John's death
That he pulled away
From his followers and friends
And went away to PRAY
And grieve for John


He was there for EVERYONE in NEED-
Especially his friend Lazarus-
And his sisters Martha and Mary-
WHEN he brought Lazarus
Back to life


“When Jesus disembarked
And saw the vast crowd
His heart was moved
With pity for them


And he CURED their sick” Matthew 14:14


Jesus-
With his heart BROKEN over John
REACHES OUT and embraces the crowd


He HEALS them
He even feeds them


That is why us-
The FOLLOWERS of Christ
In today's world
NEED to be their for others


GIVE someone a ride
When you can-
VISIT the sick and the broken hearted
And when you can do nothing else
Offer WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT
To others


We need to be COMPASSIONATE
In today's world
We need to FEEL the pain
Of other
Just like Jesus did


We need to offer HOPE
To others in any way we can


BE COMPASSIONATE-
BE THERE for others


“The Lord is gracious
And righteous


Our God
Is FULL OF COMPASSION” Psalm 116:5


“You will again
Have COMPASSION on us


You will tread our sins underfoot
And hurl all our iniquities
Into the depths of the sea” Micah 7:19


“PRAISE be to the God and Father
Of our Lord Jesus Christ


THE FATHER OF COMPASSION
And the God of ALL comfort
Who comforts us
In all our troubles


So that we CAN comfort those
In any trouble

That we in fact overcame
PREPARES US


To be COMPASSIONATE
To be there FOR OTHERS
In need


Our God-our LORD Jesus Christ

That no only do we
FEEL YOUR healing grace


But that we have the COMPASSION
To PASS it on to others

Well whatever happens in
This world=NEVER FORGET
We are on=
The eternal path

OUR FATHER notices everything
About us=in fact=he NOTICES
So much=that he determined
We need a SAVIOR=and

Jesus noticed things too=
Amid the hustle and bustle
Of the TEMPLE courtyard


He noticed something
GOOD AND BEAUTIFUL=a poor widow

Our God-
Notices everything about us=
HE IS EVERYWHERE!


God not only notices
The bad things that
We do=He NOTICES
All the GOOD THINGS
That we do too


Sometimes we forget that
He notices us when we
Are KIND to our family=
And our friends


Our God NOTICES US
When we are patient
When we are KIND


God notices us=
He sees EVERYTHING we
Say and do
He sees EVERY THOUGHT
That we have

“For the Lord

His sentence on earth

The dying thief=
Is a man=NOTICING
Perhaps=for the first time
In his life


What it means
To belong to
The KINGDOM OF GOD


He is feeling
A right relationship
Of justice and of compassion
With the Lord


AT HOME WITH JESUS!


He feels at HOME
With Jesus


He sees the KINGDOM
Embroiled in the
BODY of Jesus


He is feeling=AT HOME
With this man Jesus=
He is
LOOKING to go
To the KINGDOM OF GOD
With him=to be at HOME

OPPRESSION must not stand

GOD FEELS IT TOO


When things go WRONG
In this world=in our
Very own lives=God FEELS
It too


He is very AWARE of
Our lives and what is going on
In them=and he doesn't want
Bad things=to happen to us


He is WEEPING with us=
GOD FEELS IT TOO!


“As he drew near
He saw the city
And WEPT over it........” Luke 19:41


Jesus was lamenting
Over the FUTURE
Of Jerusalem


Which was brutally
DESTROYED by the Romans
In 70 AD


This story is FOUND only
In Luke's gospel=and was
WRITTEN between 80 and 90 AD
After the destruction had happened


Jesus felt the SORROW
And PAIN of his people
In Jerusalem


And he feels the SORROW
And PAIN of each one of us too


And everything we are
Going through
In our lives


GOD FEELS IT TOO


“My eyes grow weak
With SORROW=
They fail
Because of all my foes” Psalm 6:7


“Your sun
Will never set again


And your moon
Will wane no more
The Lord will be


Your everlasting light
And your days of SORROW
Will end” Isaiah 60:20


“Godly SORROW brings repentance
That leads to salvation


And leaves no regret
But worldly SORROW
Brings death” 2 Corinthians 7:10


The question that goes
THROUGH all of our minds=
When things go wrong
In our lives is


“WHERE IS GOD in
All of this?”


MY REPLY to you is
That God FEELS IT TOO=
And that God is right here
WEEPING with us all


GOD FEELS IT TOO!
God feels our sorrow
And our PAIN


God feels our heartbreak
With us=GOD WEEPS with us
God does FEEL our pain


“Surely he took up
OUR PAIN=and bore
Our suffering


Yet we considered him
Punished by God-
Stricken by him=
And afflicted” Isaiah 53:4


So WHATEVER you are
Going through=feel the
COMFORT OF GOD


And know God
FEELS YOUR PAIN TOO

There is a tendency
To play it SAFE
In this world


To NEVER take a chance
But we should take

We should SHARE
The words of the Lord=
We should LIVE
The words
Of the Lord


DO IT FOR GOD!


“I tell you
To everyone who has-
MORE will be given


But from the one
Who has not=
Even what he has
Will be taken away” Luke 19:26


The servants all knew
That they would be
HELD ACCOUNTABLE


For the nobleman's coin
When he returned


So the third SERVANT
BURIED his coin=
He played it SAFE


What could be
The harm in that?
The harm is=we
Were given the materials
To BUILD a life
With RETURNS


And to bring people
BACK TO GOD


DO IT FOR GOD!=
Take a chance=
BUILD a life=bring
A return to the LORD


“If your RETURN
To the ALMIGHTY
You will be restored” Job 22:23


“What shall I RETURN
To the Lord


For all his goodness
To me?” Psalm 116:12


“It will not RETURN
To me empty


But will accomplish
What I desire
And achieve the purpose


For which I sent it” Isaiah 55:11


PLAYING it safe
Was not what
The nobleman wanted


Nor is=playing it SAFE=
What the Lord wants for us
To do-with our lives


He wants us
To BUILD a life
Built on LOVE=and forgiveness
And kindness


SHARE whatever your talents
Are=in this life=VOLUNTEER
In whatever way that we can=
HELP families and help those
IN NEED


DO IT FOR GOD!


“And I tell you
That you are Peter


And on this rock
I will BUILD my church
And the gates of HADES
Will not overcome it” Matthew 16:18


USE your gifts wisely in
This world=build something positive
And maybe someday you will hear=


“Well done=good and faithful servant!” Matthew 25:21

Of RENEWAL and conversion

Jesus gave them all
A GIFT=as he gives us
A gift=he tells them
“YOU ARE FREE NOW”


It is OUR GIFT from God=
All we have to do=
Is say we are SORRY=and we are
COMPLETELY FREE


WE ARE FREE NOW=
And we say thank you
And KEEP moving forward


“He upholds
The cause of the oppressed


And gives food
To the hungry
The Lord sets prisoners free” Psalm 146:7


“So do this=my son
To FREE YOURSELF


Since you have
Fallen into your neighbor's hands
Go--------to the point of exhaustion-------

The Father and CHRIST

Have nothing
To do with the GOSPEL


It is up to us
To SEE THE TRUE MESSAGE
Of God=through the LIFE
Of Jesus


There is ONLY ONE TRUE MESSAGE
Of God the Father=and his SON=
Everything to do
With LOVE=mercy=
And compassion


“Who has believed
OUR MESSAGE=

The Ole’ Flag can still bring on
A glow of emotion, a sigh
When it snaps to an’ stretches out

Its culler’s once were carried with pride

In theatres of war where heroes died
So that others would breathe free air.


I’ve seen it in the sunrise
Sil’vry dew hung on the bars,

The Ole’ Flag, how proud it flies

NOT UNDERESTIMATE=the possible effects sin
Has on others-and OURSELVES


So let us=when called UPON=
TRY to SHINE our light=
In the world for those
FEELING THE PAIN

BRINGING ABOUT THE KINGDOM

BRINGING ABOUT THE KINGDOM


As CHRISTIANS=it is our duty
To BRING about
The KINGDOM of God
As best=as we can


Winston Churchill once said=
“Fear is a reaction-
COURAGE is a DECISION”


And our decision should be
To live the WORD OF GOD
As best as we can=
That is
WHAT GOOD CHRISTIANS DO


“It is my choice
To die
At the hands
Of men


With the HOPE GOD GIVES
Of being raised up
By him” 2 Maccabees 7:14


These brothers had COURAGE
Along with a HOPE
And a deep FAITH
IN GOD


And that is what
We need=HOPE and DEEP FAITH
In God
To live the WORD=
To bring about
THE KINGDOM OF GOD


Courage=hope=and FAITH
What a formidable combination
When we COMBINE them
In ourselves


To try and BRING
About the KINGDOM
During this life


“They tell
Of the glory
Of your KINGDOM


And speak
Of your might” Psalm 145:11


“How great
Are his signs
How mighty his wonders


His KINGDOM
Is an everlasting KINGDOM
His dominion endures
From generation to generation” Daniel 4:3


In today's world
VERY FEW of us
Will have to die
For the kingdom


But GOD is CALLING
On us
To LIVE for the KINGDOM
To build up a world
That seems to be
LOSING a little more
Each day


It is UP TO US
To live with COURAGE=
HOPE=and FAITH
And help bring about
A KINGDOM
Of RENEWED faith


“Jesus replied=
'Very truly-I tell you


No one can see
The KINGDOM of God
Unless they are BORN AGAIN” John 3:3


“For the KINGDOM of GOD
Is not a matter
Of eating and drinking


But of righteousness-
Peace and joy
In the HOLY SPIRIT


Because anyone who serves CHRIST
In this way
Is pleasing to God
And receives human approval” Romans 14:17-18


We all have DIFFERENT GIFTS
In this world=we just ALL
Need to use them
In BRINGING ABOUT
THE KINGDOM OF GOD


In Jesus' name=and in the name of our KINGDOM LIVING FATHER!

WE ARE THE TEMPLE OF GOD

WE ARE THE TEMPLE OF GOD


I am sure you
Have heard it said
“OUR bodies are our temples”


That makes our bodies
The TEMPLE OF GOD


“Do you not know
That you are
The TEMPLE OF GOD


And that the SPIRIT
Of Go
Dwells in you?” 1 Corinthians 3:16


The truth is
I HAVEN'T always
Treated my body
Like my temple


I am sure that
You haven't always either
But we SHOULD=
The Spirit of God
Really dose dwell INSIDE
Of us


“One thing-
I ask
From the Lord
This only do I seek


That I may DWELL
In the house of the Lord
All the days
Of my life


To gaze on
The beauty of the Lord
And to seek him
IN HIS TEMPLE” Psalm 27:4


I think about ALL the
EXPERIENCES=that I have had
And the people that I have met
In my life


Much=MOST of them REVOLVE
Around MASS=around churches
And even TEMPLES


My body is MY TEMPLE=
We the people are=
Indeed the TEMPLE=the
CHURCH OF GOD


“The Lord
Is in his HOLY TEMPLE


Let all the earth
Be silent-before him” Habakkuk 2:20


“For we are
The TEMPLE of the living God=
As God has said=


'I will live
With them
And walk among them


And I will be
Their God
And they will be
My people'” 2 Corinthians 6:16


Yes we are=our bodies
Are=the LIVING TEMPLES
Of God


MANY of my family experiences=
Have EVOLVED
Around the CATHOLIC CHURCH


Almost all of MY FRIENDS
Are from one church experience
Or another


EACH PLACE that I have been=
I have CELEBRATED images of God=
And Jesus=with the people
I LOVE these people=of ALL
The different FAITHS


Dear LORD=help me
To REVERENCE every place
That I go to today


And DETECT YOUR PRESENCE
In every person
That I meet


For we ALL ARE
THE TEMPLES of the LIVING GOD


In Jesus' name=and in the name=of our FOREVER LIVING FATHER!

GOD MAKES US PERFECT!

GOD MAKES US PERFECT!


There are many DISHONEST
PEOPLE in this world=
In fact=the parable today
Is about a dishonest steward


SCHOLARS believe the dishonest
Steward committed USURY
Against his neighbors


And REPENTED only when
His master found out


Isn't that the way it is=sometimes
With us too=GETTING CAUGHT
By God=by Jesus
Can motivate us=to really CHANGE OUR WAYS


God can=Jesus does and can
Make us PERFECT
They are the
ONLY perfect ones


“And the master commended
The DISHONEST STEWARD
For acting prudently” Luke 16:8


“He said to them=
'You are the ones
Who justify yourselves
In the eyes
Of others


But GOD KNOWS
Your hearts


What people value highly
Is detestable
In God's sight” Luke 16:15


Sometimes it takes
Being CAUGHT
In some kind of wrongdoing


For us to
Really change our ways


But God can TOUCH US=
Jesus can touch us
To really CHANGE OUR HEARTS


When we CHANGE
And try to become Like God=
Though we don't
Really ever reach it


God makes us=Jesus makes
Us PERFECT=In heart=and mind
And soul


Though we have to
CONFESS our sins=and wrongdoing
To God first


“As for God
His way is PERFECT
The Lord's way
Is flawless


He shields all
Who take refuge
In him” Psalm 18:30


“You will keep
IN PERFECT PEACE


Those whose minds
Are steadfast
Because they trust in you” Isaiah 26:3


When we are sorry=CONTRITION
Often starts out half-hearted


Sometimes our heart is ready=
But our minds are NOT=
Sometimes we become AWARE


Only when we think
About the consequences


But God=in his MERCY-
SMILES on us=
His ways are PERFECT
And he has
HIS WAY with us


“Every good and PERFECT GIFT
Is from above


Coming down from the Father
Of the heavenly lights
Who does not change
Like shifting shadows” James 1:17


When we ADOPT God's WAYS
We become PERFECT too=
GOD'S WAYS make us perfect


In Jesus' name=and in the name of our EVER PERFECT FATHER!

DON'T GIVE UP THE CHASE!


Are you actively SEEKING
GOD with your life?
Are you having trouble
Finding him?


DON'T GIVE UP
THE CHASE!


“This I SEEK=
To dwell


In the house
Of the Lord
All the days
Of my life........” Psalm 27:4


Be like a DOG=have
You ever NOTICED how
They don't give up?


They smell everything=they
Keep on SEARCHING=totally
Trying to find what
Makes them HAPPY


Keep up the CHASE=
Keep up that SEARCH=
You know that it is
The PRESENCE OF GOD
That makes you HAPPY


“Five of you
Will CHASE a hundred
And a hundred of you


Will CHASE ten thousand
And your enemies
Will fall
By the sword
Before you” Leviticus 26:8


“Those who work
Their land
Will have abundant food


But those who CHASE fantasies
Have no sense” Proverbs 12:11


The dog stays FOCUSED
On what he is searching for=
Most of the time


And so it must be
With us=we NEED to stay
Focused on our SEARCH
FOR God


We need to keep UP
THE CHASE=until we find God-
Until we find Jesus
LIVING right here inside of us


Right INSIDE of our
Own HEARTS=our own minds=
And our own SOULS


DON'T GIVE UP THE CHASE!=
Keep on SEARCHING for God
Stay FOCUSED!


“SEARCH me God
And know my heart


Test me and
Know my anxious thoughts” Psalm 139:23


“And if you look for it
As for silver


And SEARCH for it
As for hidden treasure” Proverbs 2:4


“Or suppose a woman
Has ten silver coins
And loses one


Doesn't she light a lamp-
Sweep the house
And SEARCH CAREFULLY
Until she finds it?” Luke 15:8


And that is the way
It is WITH GOD


The harder it is
To find something
The MORE IMPORTANT
That it is


DON'T GIVE UP THE CHASE!


Keep on SEARCHING=until you
FIND GOD and Jesus=living
RIGHT INSIDE of
Your/our VERY OWN SOULS

CARRYING OUR CROSSES

CARRYING OUR CROSSES


You have CROSSES in life=
I do too=And Jesus
Had his own
VERY HEAVY CROSSES


We all have to
CARRY them=to the BEST
Of our abilities=no matter
HOW HEAVY
That they are


“Whoever does not
Carry his OWN CROSS


And come after me
CANNOT be my disciple” Luke 14:27


Do you ever wonder
If you are on
JESUS' list
Of his disciples?


Are you carrying the CROSSES
To the best
Of your ability?


Maybe you are=and I am=
Some of Jesus'
DISCIPLES too


These crosses
Are darn heavy


We stay ACTIVE
On Jesus' approved disciples
List=by CARRYING our crosses


“Carrying his OWN CROSS-
He went out to
The place of the skull
(Which in Aramaic
Is called Golgotha)” John 19:17


“His purpose
Was to create
In himself
One new humanity
Out of the two=


Thus making peace
And in one body
To reconcile both of them to God
THROUGH THE CROSS


By which he
Put to death
Their hostility” Ephesians 2:16


“And having disarmed
The powers-
And authorities


He has made a public spectacle
Out of them
Triumphing over them
BY THE CROSS” Colossians 2:15


We all have
MANY CROSSES


Those people in the
Senior LIVING CENTER=
They have many crosses


They are JESUS' DISCIPLES too=
Those people carrying
CHRONIC ILLNESSES-
They have worries=anxieties=
And CROSSES


They are
APPROVED DISCIPLES TOO


We are TRYING
To CARRY our crosses
To the best of
Our ability


Jesus carried a HEAVY
WOODEN CROSS=and internally
A much heavier one


He kept walking
ALL THE WAY to Calgary
And did not turn back


KEEP walking and carrying
Your cross=you are HIS DISCIPLE TOO


“What Jesus did here
In Cana of Galilee
Was the first


Of the signs
Through which
He revealed his glory


And his DISCIPLES
Believed in him” John 2:11


KEEP carrying YOUR CROSS=if it
Is not heavy
It is NOT A CROSS
