THE FOOD OF LIFE

 

THE FOOD OF LIFE

It seems like eons

Ago now=

But back BEFORE

The Corona virus=

I used to receive communion=

THE FOOD OF LIFE

As often as possible

But I still TRY to

Receive GOD'S EUCHARIST daily=

In a spiritual way

I RECEIVE Jesus=

I receive God the Father-

I receive the

SPIRIT OF GOD=

In my heart=in my mind=

And IN MY SOUL

“O God=you are MY GOD

Whom I seek=

For you my flesh pines

And my soul thirsts

Like the earth

Parched-lifeless-

And without water” Psalm 63:2

THE FOOD OF LIFE

The food of Jesus=

Receiving him EVERY DAY

Receiving=the body and blood

Of Jesus=IN my heart=

In my mind=

And in my SOUL

There is something LACKING

In our humanity

That cries out for relief

CHRIST=in his humanity=

Knew thirst well

At the end of his life-

He cried out=

“I THIRST”

And what he received

Was a rag

SOAKED in vinegar=

Oh how mean=we human beings can be

I THIRST FOR GOD!

I thirst for Jesus-

I thirst for

THE FOOD OF LIFE!

The body and blood of Jesus

But I take it in my

Heart=in my mind=

And in my SOUL DAILY=

Lacking heavenly food

“Do not work

For FOOD that spoils=

But for FOOD

That endures to eternal life

Which the SON OF MAN

Will give you=

For on him

God the Father

Has placed HIS SEAL of approval” John 6:27

“But FOOD

Does not bring us

Near to God

We are no worse

If we do not eat=

And no better if we do” 1 Corinthians 8:8

That is physical food=

But receiving Christ spiritually=

Receiving THE FOOD OF LIFE

Gives us ETERNAL LIFE

With Christ Jesus

“The Son of Man

Must be lifted up=

That everyone who believes

May have ETERNAL LIFE in him” John 3:15

Taking in

THE FOOD OF LIFE=

Today=and every day

Of my life=SPIRITUALLY SPEAKING
