THERE IS A COST=BUT BENEFITS TOO

Today can be

A TOUGH GOSPEL

For some of us to read

For in it=Jesus describes

Some awful things

That can happen to us=

If we CHOOSE

To follow him=

If we choose

To BECOME his disciple

Betrayal=arrest=imprisonment=

Unspeakable suffering=

And even death=

The EVENTS of his

Very own life

“Jesus said to the crowd'=

'They will seize and persecute you........'” Luke 21:12

We KNOW for a fact

That throughout history=EVEN TODAY=

Some Christians

Follow the same path

That Jesus himself lived

We call them MARTYRS=

But we can be martyrs too

In a living sense

By GIVING our lives to God

And Jesus=

Throughout much PAIN AND SUFFERING

But there are SOME BENEFITS TOO=

A LOVE with God and Jesus

Like no one else has

A love with ALL OTHER PEOPLE

Which UNITES us with God

DON'T UNDERESTIMATE the love

Of God and Jesus=

Don't ever underestimate

This LOVE

That is an INTENSE HUMAN BENEFIT

“But now

That you have been

Set free from sin

And have become

Slaves of God

THE BENEFIT you reap

Leads to holiness

And the result

Is eternal life” Romans 6:22

“All this is

For your BENEFIT

So that the grace

That is reaching

More and more people

May cause thanksgiving

To overflow

To the glory of God” 2 Corinthians 4:15

But don't UNDERESTIMATE

The pain either

The PAIN of when

Our loved ones=and friends

CEASE to become practicing Christians

The polarization WITHIN

The Catholic

And the Christian communities

TRYING to uphold

Our Christian ideals=when there

Is LITTLE SUPPORT in society

But all this is worth it

For ONE DAY in the

BENEFIT of of love

With God and Jesus

“Others have done the hard work=

And you have reaped

The BENEFITS of their labor” John 4:38

Following Jesus will COST

You something=somehow

But it will LEAD to

THE BENEFIT of a LOVE

That is eternal=and SOUL SHATTERING

Dear Lord=help us to bear=

The cost of your discipleship

For YOUR ETERNAL LOVE

In Jesus' name=and in the name of our living=ALL LOVING FATHER
