NEVER NO MORE TO DIE!
NEVER NO MORE TO DIE!=
The apostles were COMPANIONS
Of Jesus=for years=they had
HEARD all about his MISSION
And his TEACHINGS
On at least three occasions=Jesus
Told his apostles he would die
And RISE AGAIN
But when they came upon
The EMPTY TOMB=where
Jesus had been buried
They did not GRASP the
REALITY of the situation
They did not grasp
The reality of the RESURRECTION
“For they did not yet
UNDERSTAND the Scripture=
That he had to
RISE from the dead” John 20:9
This EASTER SUNDAY=some two thousand
Years LATER=we do NOT
Yet FULLY understand
The RESURRECTION either
NEVER=NO MORE=TO DIE
Jesus had RAISED=
The widow Nain's SON=
And he had raised
His friend=named Lazarus
The widow Nain's son and
Lazarus had to yet
DIE AGAIN
But Jesus ROSE to a NEW
And GLORIFIED LIFE=Never
No MORE to die
Jesus would RISE=and=
LIVE IN ETERNITY for
ALL OF TIME
“Your throne was ESTABLISHED
Long ago
You are
From ALL ETERNITY” Psalm 93:2
“He has made
EVERYTHING=beautiful in its time
He has also
Set ETERNITY
In the human heart
Yet no one can fathom
What GOD has done
From beginning to end” Ecclesiastes 3:11
This EASTER=let us GRASP=
Let us UNDERSTAND=that if we
LIVE with Jesus
Though we may LEAVE
This world=we will LIVE
With Jesus IN ETERNITY
NEVER NO MORE TO DIE
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!=
I LOVE YOU ALL!

THERE IS NO DOUBT ABOUT GOD
THERE IS NO DOUBT ABOUT GOD
Despite the fact that some
Two thousand years ago=all HOPE
Had seemed LOST
There is NO DOUBT about God=
About Jesus=they are=he is
A SURE THING
“If then=we have DIED with Christ=
We BELIEVE that we
Shall also LIVE with him” Romans 6:8
UNLESS you were baptized
As an ADULT=I am
Pretty sure that you do NOT
Remember your BAPTISM
I wonder even IF you have
Any PHOTOGRAPHS=I don't think
That I have any
But I was BAPTIZED on
My parents' FIRST wedding anniversary=roughly
Three weeks after I was born=
February 6th, 1955
EVERY GOOD FRIDAY since then
I have died and ROSE
With Christ=mostly in Pittsburgh, Pa.=
But for the last sixteen years
In Miami, Florida
And for all of my ETERNITY=
Because of my baptism=I
Will RISE again and I
Will LIVE FOREVER in CHRIST
I=WE=because of our BAPTISM
Will NOT be defeated=
There is NO DOUBT ABOUT GOD
“Immediately=Jesus reached out
His hand and CAUGHT him=
'You of little faith,' he said
WHY did you doubt?'” Matthew 14:31
“'Peace be with you!'=then he
Said to Thomas=
'PUT your finger here=see
My hands=
REACH OUT your hand
And put it
Into my side
STOP DOUBTING and believe'
“Thomas said to him=
'MY Lord and MY GOD'” John 20:26-28
There is NEVER any doubt
About God
We die when we LIVE
Out of pride and selfishness
LIKE so many of us do
But God is always
FAITHFUL to us=
Our JOURNEY beginning at Baptism
Leads to the PROMISED LAND
Of God
There is NO DOUBT ABOUT GOD
When we travel with Jesus
We see the LIGHT=
Shining through the darkness=
And we EMERGE in victory
We LIVE in the light
Of Jesus=for all of ETERNITY
“Many Lord are asking=
'WHO will bring
Us prosperity?'
Let the LIGHT of
Your face=SHINE on us” Psalm 4:6
“But you
Are a CHOSEN PEOPLE
A royal priesthood
A holy nation
GOD'S SPECIAL POSSESSION
That you may DECLARE
The praises of him
Who called you
Out of darkness
INTO his wonderful LIGHT” 1 Peter 2:9
We are a LIGHT that
CONQUERS DARKNESS=
ETERNAL life
Breaks THROUGH to us
Yes I REMEMBER=there
Is NO DOUBT about God
For ALL of ETERNITY

GIVING OUR LIFE IN RETURN
GIVING OUR LIFE IN RETURN
Dear Jesus=you GAVE your life
For me=you gave ALL
You had for me=for US
The LEAST that I can do too=
IS give my LIFE back
To you IN RETURN
And in the hospitalization=that BEGAN
On my 22nd birthday=I PROMISED
To do just that
“To LIVE for my family=friends=
And ALL PEOPLE everywhere”
I OWE YOU=we owe you=
It all=dear LORD
“When Jesus had taken the wine
He said='It is FINISHED'=
And BOWING his head
He handed OVER his SPIRIT” John 19:30
What Jesus did for the people
Of HIS TIME=he did
For all of us too
He SHOWED how deeply
He LOVES all of us=even
When we FAIL to love him
In RETURN
The LEAST that we can do
Is GIVE our lives BACK to God=
Return them to him=
To the very BEST of our ability
“What shall I RETURN
To the Lord
For all his GOODNESS
to me?” Psalm 116:12
“So is my WORD
That goes out from
My mouth
It will
NOT RETURN to me empty
But will ACCOMPLISH
What I desire
And ACHIEVE the purpose
For which I sent it” Isaiah 55:11
“I will GIVE them
A HEART to know me
That I am the Lord
They will be
My people
And I will be
THEIR GOD
For they will RETURN
To me
With ALL their HEART” Jeremiah 24:7
GIVING our life in RETURN
Back to God=is
The least that we can do
Jesus SHOWED us how
To RETURN his love
And SHARE it
With others
He PROMISED us that
Our relationship with him
Will last BEYOND this life
In fact=he promised us
That it would LAST an eternity
He gave us ALL he had=
And BEYOND=he left nothing
UNDONE
That is why he
Could say=
“IT IS FINISHED”
He went ABOVE and BEYOND
For us
Let us LOOK at our lives
And SEE how we can RETURN
Some portion of our lives
BACK TO HIM
“Those who LOOK to him
Are RADIANT
Their faces are NEVER covered
With shame” Psalm 34:5
Jesus INVITES us to LOOK
At our lives and SEE
What we
STILL need to do
Let us LOVINGLY and COMPASSIONATELY
Accept who we are
And give our BEST=IN RETURN
To the LORD our God
We are GRATEFUL dear Lord=for
What you did=and HUMBLY
OFFER our lives in RETURN

CHRIST IS OUR MODEL FOR GIVING
CHRIST IS OUR MODEL FOR GIVING
Jesus IS the MODEL
For all GIVING=the total giving
Of OURSELVES
This is the LAST SUPPER=
The final meal of Jesus with his apostles=
He is the TOTAL MODEL=for
All Christian living=and Christian giving
“I have given you
A MODEL to follow
So that
As I have done for you
You SHOULD also do” John 13:15
We TOO=should totally
GIVE of ourselves
As Jesus did
We see the HUMAN CONDITION
Of Jesus=we SEE the total giving
Of himself
SACRIFICES in action=the WASHING
Of the feet=PRAYER & WORSHIP=
SACRED food tasted and
TRANSFORMED into his
Body and blood
We WITNESS the total giving
Of Jesus=the LEAST we can do
Is GIVE what we can
Of ourselves
Christ is OUR MODEL for giving!
“JOIN together in following
My EXAMPLE=brothers and sisters=
And just as you
Have us as a MODEL=
Keep your eyes
On those who LIVE
As we do” Philippians 3:17
“And so you became
A MODEL to all the BELIEVERS
In Macedonia and Achaia
The Lord's MESSAGE rang out
For you=NOT only
In Macedonia and Achaia--------
Your FAITH in God
Has become known EVERYWHERE” 1 Thessalonians 1:7-8
“We did this
Not because
We did have the right
To such HELP
But in order
To OFFER OURSELVES
As a MODEL
For you to IMITATE” 2 Thessalonians 3:9
CHRIST is the MODEL=as Saint
Paul is a model
We=too=NEED to be a
Model for GIVING in today's world
On this night some
Two thousand years ago
The world CLOSED IN on Jesus
We see words of BETRAYAL=and
Jesus keeping the NEW COVENANT=
For all of time
Jesus=TOTALLY=gave of himself=
The least that we can do=IS to
CONTINUE to GIVE of ourselves
Through selfless ACTS of giving
To HELP OTHERS
“But when you
GIVE to the needy
Do NOT
Let your left hand
KNOW what your right hand
Is doing
So that your giving
May be in SECRET
Then your Father
Who sees what is done
In secret=
Will REWARD YOU” Matthew 6:3-4
LIVING is giving=and GIVING
Is living
Let CHRIST be your MODEL
FOR ALL OF ETERNITY

OUR COMPANION=WE ARE NOT ALONE!
OUR COMPANION=WE ARE NOT ALONE!
Jesus had to DO IT
All alone=he had to
TAKE the CROSS
He had to FACE the PAIN=
The HUMILIATION=and the suffering
Of body and SPIRIT
He had to
ENDURE IT ALL
“I gave my back
To those who beat me
My cheeks to those
Who PLUCKED my beard” Isaiah 50:6
Because he was FULLY HUMAN
He did not
Escape the STRUGGLE
He FACED the suffering and
During his agony in the GARDEN
He actually sweats blood
And is OVERCOME by sorrow
“Since the children
Have flesh and blood
He too SHARED
In their HUMANITY=
So that by his death
He might BREAK the
POWER of him
Who HOLDS the power of death--------
That is-the DEVIL----------
And FREE those
Who ALL their lives
Were held in SLAVERY
By their FEAR OF DEATH” Hebrews 2:14-15
We too=are FULLY HUMAN=
But we have our COMPANION
In Jesus
Who doesn't desert us
Who does NOT ABANDON US=
So we are NEVER alone
In our suffering
Jesus=our FRIEND=our constant
COMPANION=is always with us
He never lets us alone
“But it is you=
A MAN like myself
My COMPANION
My CLOSE FRIEND” Psalm 55:13
“I=John=your brother and COMPANION
In the suffering
And kingdom and PATIENT ENDURANCE
That are OURS in Jesus
Was on the island of Patmos
Because of
The WORD of God
And the TESTIMONY of Jesus” Revelation 1:9
But our poor Jesus
Was ALONE=Jesus goes to
His disciples with HUMILITY
And ASKS them to keep
WATCH=with him
In his GREAT hour of NEED
He is asking for SUPPORT
But they all=WE ALL=
LET HIM DOWN
But we NEVER walk alone
Our God=our Jesus
ALWAYS WALK with us
“BLESSED are those
Who have learned
To ACCLAIM you
Who WALK
In the light
Of your PRESENCE=LORD” Psalm 89:15
“When you WALK=
They will GUIDE YOU
When you sleep
They will watch over you
When you wake
They will speak to you” Proverbs 6:22
Thank God=that when we SUFFER=
We have JESUS=for our COMPANION
That we are NOT ALONE=
We have SOMEONE=who has
Been there BEFORE US

FOR THE GREATER GOOD
FOR THE GREATER GOOD
Do you GIVE all you have=
For the GREATER GOOD?
Do you give ALL that
You have for GOD?
This week we CELEBRATE
Jesus= who gave ALL of himself
For the GREATER GOOD
For ALL OF US
“Though I thought
I had TOILED in vain
And for nothing
USELESSLY=spent my strength
Yet my REWARD
IS with the Lord...............” Isaiah 49:4
Jesus felt forsaken
At the end=but his REWARD
Was conquering death=
Was the RESURRECTION
To BE with his Father
For all of eternity
He did it all
For the GREATER GOOD
In this world
“For the Lord is GOOD
And his love
ENDURES FOREVER
His faithfulness CONTINUES
Through all generations” Psalm 100:5
“A GOOD person
Leaves an inheritance
For their children's children
But a sinner's wealth
Is stored up
For the RIGHTEOUS” Proverbs 13:22
“Likewise EVERY good tree
Bears GOOD fruit
But a bad tree
Bears bad fruit” Matthew 7:17
Jesus felt FORSAKEN=at the very end
And who could blame him=
After giving EVERY OUNCE of himself
For us
And having every one
Of us=TURN our backs
On him
“About three in the afternoon
Jesus CRIED out
In a loud voice
'Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?'
(which means=My God=My God=
WHY have you forsaken me?”) Matthew 27:46
I get it=sometimes I feel
UNAPPRECIATED in this world=
As we all do
We feel our efforts are WASTED
But God is
USING our experiences
For the GREATER GOOD
We need to=like Jesus
To set our HEARTS
On the rewards in HEAVEN
And NOT material rewards
In this world
“Do not be afraid=Abram=
I am your SHIELD
Your very great REWARD” Genesis 15:1
“By them
Your SERVANT is warned
In keeping them
There is GREAT REWARD” Psalm 19:11
I know I have
DONE my best
In this life
Even though sometimes
I feel disappointed
God USES everything
In his UNFOLDING PLAN
For the GREATER GOOD
I trust and PRAY that God
Will USE my life this way too
And I thank JESUS=the LORD=
For CHANGING this world=forever=
FOR THE GREATEST GOOD

WHAT ARE OUR MOTIVES?
WHAT ARE OUR MOTIVES?
Today=a woman named Mary=takes a
PINT of expensive perfume=and POURS
It on Jesus' feet
And wipes his feet
With her hair
But Judas objected=and said
WHY wasn't the money
GIVEN to the poor
“Judas said this NOT because
He cared
About the POOR
But because
He was a THIEF” John 12:6
Judas' words were very ALTRUISTIC=
But they MASK=
A selfish and DECEITFUL HEART
I wonder what MOTIVATES
His thievery=Is it fear=
Insecurity=a need for CONTROL?
HOW ABOUT US?
How about our ACTIONS
In life?
Do we REALLY LOVE GOD?
Do we really LOVE OTHERS?
Or do we just want something
From God?
WANT something from someone else?
What are
OUR REAL MOTIVES?
Are we PURE=
Straight-forward
In our motives?
The Lord KNOWS
ALL of our hearts
“All a person's ways
Seem PURE to them
But MOTIVES are weighed
By the Lord” Proverbs 16:2
“Therefore=JUDGE NOTHING
Before the appointed time
WAIT until the Lord comes
He will bring to LIGHT
What was hidden in darkness
And will EXPOSE
The MOTIVES of the heart
At that time
Each will RECEIVE
THEIR PRAISE from God” 1 Corinthians 4:5
“When you ASK
You do not receive
Because you ask with
WRONG MOTIVES
That you may spend
What you get
On your PLEASURES” James 4:3
Dear Lord=it is Holy WEEK=
It might be a GOOD TIME
To REFLECT on our MOTIVES
For doing the things
That we do
What makes us act? What
Makes us FEEL what we feel?=
Are we PURE in our MOTIVES
For doing good?
Or are we MASKING our good
In deceit like Judas=
HELP US to do RIGHT O Lord=
This Holy Week=We PRAY
That we are PURE in thought
Deed=and actions=in our LOVE
For you=and in our love
For all OTHERS
Let us DEEPLY PONDER
Our thoughts=words= and actions
This week and pray that we are in LINE
With you dear LORD
“Let the ONE
Who is WISE
Heed these things
And PONDER the loving deeds
Of the Lord” Psalm 107:43
Dear Lord=as we EXAMINE ourselves=
We PRAY that our good deeds
Are MOTIVATED by our TRUST in you
And by our COMPASSION
For others

SURRENDERING AND ACCOMPANYING
We STAND at the EDGE of
HOLY WEEK=
The week where Jesus completely
SURRENDERED himself for us
“Rather=he EMPTIED HIMSELF” Philippians 2:7
And let us ACCOMPANY him
And EMPTY ourselves too=and
MARCH with Jesus as he
MARCHES up Calvary HILL
Let us EMPTY ourselves of
ALL that is evil=
Our PETTY grudges and jealousies=
Our materialism=
Our lying and gossiping
And everything else
FOREIGN to God's GOOD WAYS
SURRENDER with Jesus
The SUFFERING SERVANT of God
Let us ACCOMPANY Jesus
Let us WALK with him
EVERY step of the way
“All these blessings
Will COME on you
And ACCOMPANY you
If you obey
The Lord your God...............” Deuteronomy 28:2
“And these signs
Will ACCOMPANY those
Who believe
In my name
They will DRIVE out demons
They will SPEAK
In new tongues..............” Mark 16:17
“In the same way
FAITH by itself
If it is not ACCOMPANIED
By action
Is dead” James 2:17
Yet Jesus EMBRACES the LIMITS
Of the human condition
All by himself
He RECEIVES with graciousness
The PRECIOUS OIL
Over his head
Do we have the FAITH
And COURAGE to WALK with him
This Holy Week?
Do we have the FAITH
To SURRENDER our sins
And our privileges?
Let us SURRENDER OURSELVES too
This HOLY WEEK=and ACCOMPANY HIM
Through it all
Beginning TODAY
Let us be willing to SUFFER=
IF we are called upon
By our DEAR LORD
“For he has NOT despised
Or SCORNED=the suffering
Of the AFFLICTED ONE
He has not hidden
His face from him
But he has LISTENED
To his CRY for help” Psalm 22:24
Our Jesus=felt the FORSAKENNESS
In both the GARDEN
And on the CROSS
Yet he GIVES his LIFE up
For others
In a FINAL emptying act
Dear Lord=May we ACCOMPANY you
This week=as you HAND OVER
Your life in LOVE
For all of us
FOR ALL OF TIME
In the name of Jesus and
HIS MOST LOVING FATHER

OUR GOD=CHERISHES US
OUR GOD=CHERISHES US!
Our God=the God of POWER
And LOVE=despite ALL our evil=
And our cruelty
CHERISHES US=with a love
Like no other=we BELONG to him
“My DWELLING shall be with them
I will BE their God=
And they shall be
MY PEOPLE” Ezekiel 37:27
And we are HIS people=and
He DWELLS in us=as we SEEK
To dwell in him
The Old Testament
SPEAKS of God's wrath=
God and Israel do BELONG
To each other
God has the POWER
But he also feels the MERCY
For us
And we have the laws=
The COMMANDMENTS=and ALL
Of his LOVE
Our God does
Really CHERISH US
Our God
Really does DWELL
Within us
“The one who gets WISDOM
LOVES LIFE
The one who CHERISHES=
Understanding=will soon PROSPER” Proverbs 19:8
“If I had CHERISHED
Sin in my heart
The LORD
Would NOT have listened” Psalm 66:18
Jesus COMES to us
This HOLY WEEK
First to our CHEERS=
Then to our betrayal
He IS a God
Who WANTS to love on us
Who wants to
DWELL in us
HE CHERISHES US!
He is our God=our Jesus
Who loves us=
Who cherishes=who
Wants to DWELL in us
“Then have them
MAKE a sanctuary
For me
And I will DWELL
Among them
Make this tabernacle
And all its furnishings
EXACTLY like the pattern
I will show you” Exodus 25:8
“I pray that out
Of his glorious riches
He may STRENGTHEN you
With POWER
Though his SPIRIT
In your INNER BEING
So that Christ
May DWELL in your HEARTS
Through FAITH” Ephesians 3:16-17
But LOOK what happened
To Jesus=we smashed him
Like a fly
Yet=despite our cruelty=
OUR GOD CHERISHES US!
He LOVES us forever
And TEACHES us both
To give and receive MERCY

PICKING UP STONES
PICKING UP STONES
Again=today=Jesus=in John=
TESTIFIES that he Is the
SON OF GOD
The Jewish people become
So ENRAGED=they want
To STONE HIM=but he
Slips away
“The JEWS answered him=
'We are NOT stoning you
For a good work
But for blasphemy
You a man
Are MAKING yourself God'” John 10:33
And how about US=when
We come up against=
Someone with a different POINT
OF VIEW than us
Are we ready? To be
PICKING UP STONES
In an argument
Are we really listening
To GAIN a different
Perspective=to HEAR a
Different point of view?
Or are we picking up STONES
To argue?
Dear Lord=HELP US to listen to Jesus
And his words=and help us
To LISTEN to OTHERS
With our FULL ATTENTION
“Listen to my WORDS=Lord=
Consider my lament” Psalm 5:1
“The way of fools
Seems right to them
But the WISE
LISTEN TO ADVICE” Proverbs 12:15
“Then a cloud APPEARED
And a voice
CAME from the cloud
'This is MY SON
Whom I LOVE
LISTEN to him'” Mark 9:7
The PEOPLE picked up STONES
To try and KILL Jesus
But MANY of us
Pick up stones with our WORDS=
And our attempts to GOSSIP=
Slander=or lie about
ANOTHER human being
PICKING UP STONES
And the religious leaders
CONCLUDE that Jesus is
“ONLY A MAN”
That wasn't the truth
He was GOD
Let us NOT LIMIT
One another by using
The word=”ONLY”
“Only a kid”
“Only a person”
“Only a woman”
Let us NEVER pick up stones
To INSULT another human being
And let us all REMEMBER
That no matter who we are
WE CAN make a difference
In this world
If we are acting
In CONJUNCTION
With the WORD OF GOD
Let us be
CONFIDENT in God
“I remain CONFIDENT of this
I will see
The GOODNESS of the Lord
In the land
Of the LIVING” Psalm 27:13
Dear Lord=THIS LENT=
Help us to put down
OUR STONES
And LISTEN
Help us to TREAT all people
And God with respect and REVERENCE

HARD TO UNDERSTAND=WE WILL LIVE FOREVER!
HARD TO UNDERSTAND=
WE WILL LIVE FOREVER
Jesus said MANY things
That were hard
To UNDERSTAND
But ONE of the things
He said=WAS=if you keep
his word=
YOU WILL live forever
“Whoever keeps my word
WILL NEVER SEE DEATH” John 8:51
What a DIFFICULT CONCEPT
To understand
KEEP his word=and we will
LIVE forever
BE KIND=live forever
Love God= and love others=live forever
Forgive=70x7=live forever
Live the BEATITUDES=live forever
DO all of the ABOVE=Live
FOREVER=never see death=
HARD TO UNDERSTAND!
Those who FIRST heard Jesus say this=
THOUGHT he was mad=
Or possessed
EVERYONE dies=RIGHT?
Jesus died right=in the MOST
GRUESOME way=but he
ROSE from the dead
NOW he sits with his Father
LIVING FOREVER
At the right hand
Of his Father=and
LIVING FOREVER!
“But the plans
Of the Lord
STAND firm FOREVER

WE HAVE FREE WILL!
Jesus says EVERYONE
Who commits a sin=is
A SLAVE to sin
Which MEANS everyone of us
Is a slave TO SIN
Jesus answered them=”Amen=amen
I say to you=EVERYONE
Who commits a sin
IS a slave to sin” John 8:34
We have FREE WILL=we can
CHOOSE to sin=in big or small ways=
UNFORTUNATELY=none of us
Get it right=100% of the time
Here in America
We confuse freedom for INDIVIDUALISM
As long as we DON'T HURT
Anyone else=we think we
SHOUD be FREE
To do as we PLEASE
We can also be SLAVES
To pleasure= to compulsion=
And to HEDONISM
WE can ONLY BE FREE=
If we are CHOOSING GOD=
Choosing God OVER everything else
With our FREE WILL

Today we READ about
Jesus getting LOST in
The TEMPLE
Can you just IMAGINE
A 12-year old Jesus
Debating the TORAH
With the rabbis
And RESPECTFULLY talking back
To his mother and step=father?
Joseph and Mary have just
SPENT three days SCOURING the
City looking for Jesus=
BEFORE finding him
In the Temple
Can't you just IMAGINE Jesus
Saying to his parents=
“Why I am fine=wasn't it OBVIOUS
Where I would be?”
“................
NOT finding him
They RETURNED to Jerusalem
To look for him
After three days
They FOUND him
In the temple
Sitting in the MIDST
Of the teachers
LISTENING to them
And asking them QUESTIONS” Luke 2:45-46
Bu what ABOUT US
What about when we
Get LOST during life
How happy we are=just
As his mom and dad were=
When we FIND GOD
When we find Jesus=

RENEW OUR HEARTS TO YOUR MERCY=O LORD
RENEW OUR HEARTS
TO YOUR MERCY=O LORD
Our God is a MERCIFUL GOD=
He LIVES mercy!
He BREATHES mercy on us
EVERY DAY of our lives
“A clean HEART
CREATE for me=
O God
And a steadfast SPIRIT
RENEW within me” Psalm 51:12
Psalm 51 is ONE of
The seven PENITENTIAL psalms=
And it means
“HAVE MERCY ON ME”
Thank God=we live with a
MERCIFUL GOD=a God who forgives=
A God who doesn't
HOLD our sins against us
ASKING for mercy means asking
That our sins=DELIBERATE immoral acts=
Be FORGIVEN
It also means EXPRESSING
LOVE in tangible ways
Our PLEA to God is
To ASK for forgiveness
From whatever KINDS of messes
We have in our lives
Our plea is that for God
To EXTEND MERCY to us
And that we BOTH give and receive=
Mercy to and with OTHERS

For he has HEARD

DIVISION AND UNITY IN THIS WORLD
DIVISION AND UNITY IN THIS WORLD
I believe Jesus wanted
To bring a TOTAL UNIFIED
LOVE to this world
And a UNIFYING LOVE
For EVERY person in this world
But what he ENDED up bringing
Was hatred and DIVISION
To this world
NOT because he was
WHO he was
And who he still IS
But because we are WHO
We are=we can't get
ALONG=with the person sitting
RIGHT beside us=or sometimes
Even ourselves
“So a DIVISION
Occurred in the crowd
Because of him
Some of them
EVEN wanted to arrest him
But NO ONE laid hands
On him” John 7:43-44
The crowd was
Having a very DIFFICULT TIME
KNOWING what was TRUE
About Jesus
They were UNCERTAIN with so many
LIES & RUMORS spread about him
And uncertainty brings about POLARIZATION
And conversations become difficult
EVEN among friends and neighbors
But I honestly BELIEVE=Jesus wanted
To bring a UNITY OF LOVE
To the world=among ALL people
“How GOOD and PLEASANT it is
When GOD'S PEOPLE live
Together in UNITY” Psalm 133:1
“I have given them
The GLORY
That you gave me
That they may be ONE
As we are one---------
So that they may
Be BROUGHT to complete UNITY
THEN the world
Will KNOW that

And have LOVED them
Even as

But there was so MUCH
POLITICAL arguing going on
At the time
A SCAPEGOAT was NEEDED
And it was Jesus
ONE PERSON to
DIE fro all LIVING PEOPLE
One person=
PERFECT in love
“Caiaphas was the one who
ADVISED the JEWISH leaders
That it would be good
If ONE MAN
Died for the people” John 18:14
Jesus was it=Jesus was
The man=put to death
For all of us
For ALL OF LOVE
For all of HUMANITY
“Then one of them=named Caiaphas=
Who was the HIGH PRIEST
That year=spoke up
'You know NOTHING at all!
You do not realize
That it is BETTER for you
That ONE MAN die
For the people than
The whole nation PERISH” John 11:49-50
Even TODAY=we still
ASK the question=
What will END the violence
And RESTORE the community?
LOOK to the CROSS=
OPEN your HEARTS to the LOVE offered=

AN IRISH SAYING=THE LIFE STORY OF SAINT PATRICK
AN IRISH SAYING
May those who love us, love us
And those who don’t love us,

And if he doesn’t turn their hearts

THE LIFE STORY OF SAINT PATRICK
There has been much controversy
Surrounding the life of Saint Patrick
Both as to what he did
And what he didn’t do
Patrick was British by birth
He lived during the fifth century
His father was on the town council
And was a deacon
His grandfather was a priest
When he was young
He was captured by Irish pirates
And was made a slave for 6 years
During these years
Patrick began to pray
And draw close to God
Which was in contrast to his earlier years
When he “knew NOT the true God”
After the 6 years
He escaped or was freed
And did some traveling
But almost starved to death
Patrick returned home to his family
A changed man
And trained to become a priest
After some contact with the Papacy
Patrick succeeded Palladius
To be the first bishop of the Irish
To believe in Christ
Patrick worked principally in Northern Ireland
Organizing the church
And had many missionary journeys
From there
Patrick was not especially learned
But lived with a sincere simplicity
And deep pastoral care
He worked to abolish paganism and idolatry
And made no distinction
Among classes of people
HE LOVED ALL
He himself was ready and willing
To accept imprisonment and death
For his FAITH IN CHRIST
Because of being a slave and fugitive
He learned to completely trust God
The historical Patrick is much different
Than the legendary Patrick
And much more interesting
He DID NOT convert Ireland single-handedly
In fact---it took MANY evangelists
And many generations to accomplish
But make no mistake
He was the PRIMARY INSTRUMENT of God
In getting it all started
He remains the most popular Saint
From Ireland
And he is Ireland’s patron
To this day
His cult spread form Ireland to Europe
In the middle ages
And in modern times
To the United States and Australia
Where it still flourishes on his feast day
Which is March 17th

In the 21st century=
It is PROBABLY easier than ever
To put things ABOVE GOD
Sex=money=drugs=alcohol=ANY=or
ALL of the above=even sports
Or fashion=anything we are
PUTTING AHEAD of God=is an IDOL
And should NOT be there
“They have been
QUICK to turn away
From what I have commanded them
And have MADE themselves an IDOL
Cast in the shape
Of a calf
They have
BOWED down to it
And SACRIFICED to it
And have said
'These are your gods=ISRAEL=
Who have brought you up
OUT OF EGYPT'” Exodus 32:7-8
So we see it wasn't
ANY EASIER for the people
THOUSANDS of years ago
They=too=put things ABOVE God
And a GOLDEN CALF
Of all things
God was going to DESTROY=his people=
But Moses PLEADED for=and
SAVED his people
I WONDER what God
THINKS of us=the people of AMERICA
In today's world
How about you=are you KEEPING God
FIRST=number ONE in your life?

The Lord says
Israel's KING and Redeemer
The Lord Almighty
I am the FIRST

Apart from me

In today's reading=Jesus ASKS
A disabled man=”Do you
WANT to be well?”
As a person=with a CHRONIC
ILLNESS my whole life=I just
WANT to scream=”Heck Yeah”
I am SURE you do too=want to
BE WELL from whatever is AILING you=
It is NOT a trick question=we
ALL have illness or PROBLEMS
That need to be solved
“When Jesus saw him LYING there=
And KNEW that he had
Been ill for a long time
He said to him;
'Do you want to be WELL?'” John 5:6
The man was MADE WELL=and
On the SABBATH=when
The law forbids
But the man is made well
And he picks up his mat=
CARRIES it with him
And WALKS AWAY
Can I ASK you a question?
Do you WANT Jesus to SOLVE
Whatever problems that are
Ailing you?
Maybe Jesus is ASKING ME/US=
WHAT is holding you down? What
Are you waiting for? Don't you TRUST ME?
I wouldn't have GIVEN you a
Chronic illness if you couldn't HANDLE IT=
CHANGE your attitude=TRUST IN ME=the Lord

LIVING IN THE LIGHT
We all make mistakes=we ALL
SIN if you will=and WHEN
We do=it is NOT so easy
To LIVE in the LIGHT
But when we TRY to LIVE
RIGHTEOUS LIVES=God will see
To it that our lives
Are lived in the LIGHT
“But whoever lives the TRUTH
COMES to the light
So that his WORKS
May be clearly SEEN
As DONE in God” John 3:21
When we make MISTAKES=sin=if
You will=we TEND to think
That DENYNG it=will make us
Feel better
NOTHING could be further
From the truth=because often times
WHEN we are in that STATE
Of mind=we don't even
Want to go to church
God wants us to LIVE
In TRUTH=God wants us
To LIVE IN THE LIGHT
God wants to set
Us FREE
LIVING IN THE LIGHT
Of God=sets us FREE
“You-Lord-KEEP
My lamp burning
My God
TURNS my darkness
Into LIGHT” Psalm18:28
“The path
Of the RIGHTEOUS
Is like
The MORNING SUN
SHINING even brighter
Till the FULL LIGHT
Of day” Proverbs 4:18
“In him was LIFE
And that life
Was the LIGHT
Of all mankind
The LIGHT shines
In the darkness
And the darkness
Has NOT overcome it” John 1:4-5
And the darkness
Will NOT overcome us either
IF we keep our lives
TIED to Christ's
We will ALWAYS live in
The LIGHT=live RIGHTEOUS LIVES=
Not perfect lives=by any means
We will still sin=but=
We will be LIVING
In the LIGHT of Christ
LIVING RIGHTEOUS LIVES
LIVING IN THE LIGHT
“Therefore the wicked
Will not stand
In judgment
Nor sinners
In the assemble
of the RIGHTEOUS” Psalm 1:5

The prayer

Is WHERE we were
Meant to be LORD

Penetrate our souls
For God's LIGHT is JOYFUL=

EVEN IF I WERE THE ONLY ONE
EVEN IF I WERE THE ONLY ONE
Unfortunately=we are ALL sinners=
In this world=
But even if I/you/me=were the ONLY ONE
Jesus would have DIED for us
One thousand TIMES over
That IS how much he CARES=
How MUCH he LOVES=each and
EVERY ONE of us
“O God=be MERCIFUL=
To me a sinner” Luke 18:13
Today=we read about TWO MEN=
Who went to the temple to PRAY
We read about the PHARISEE who
Thinks he is BETTER than everyone else=
He PRAYED:
“God I thank you that I am NOT
Like other people--------robbers-
Evildoers-adulterers---or even like
The tax collector
I fast twice a week=and=
I GIVE a tenth of all I get” Luke 18:11-12
The TAX COLLECTOR stood at
A distance and would
NOT even look up
And said:
“God=have MERCY on me
A SINNER” Luke 18:13
The point IS:NONE of us
Are better than anyone else
And none of us are so righteous
That we can
EARN our way into heaven
Jesus calls us to be HUMBLE=
Calls us to be LAST
And he would DIE for
Each one of us
As if we were the ONLY SINNER
In this world=And he did die for
EACH and every one of us
He KNOWS we are not perfect=
And he knows we have ALL
Done some wrong in our life
“I tell you that
In the same way
There will be MORE REJOICING
In HEAVEN=over one sinner=
Who REPENTS=than over
Ninety-nine righteous persons
Who do NOT NEED to repent” Luke 15:7
The point is:there is NONE of us
So righteous=that we
Do NOT need to REPENT
And it is MADE CLEAR
In the ABOVE PARABLE
And yet even IF I
Were the ONLY ONE who
Ever sinned=Jesus=would have
Went to the CROSS for me/for you/for us
He LOVES US that much
He FORGIVES us that much
“Remember this:
Whoever TURNS a sinner
From the error of their way
Will SAVE them from death
And cover over
A MULTITUDE of sins” James 5:20
The point is:NONE of us
Are so self-righteous
That we are without
ANY SIN
Jesus LOVED the TAX COLLECTOR
To death=and he would LOVE us
Till death
And he would have died for us=
Even IF we are/were
The ONLY ONE=the only sinner
HE LOVES US THAT MUCH!

GOD WANTS YOU BACK!
GOD WANTS YOU BACK!
Has ANYONE ever told you that
They are ESTRANGED from
God=and God wouldn't want them
Back?
That is NOT TRUE=for NO MATTER
How LONG you have been away=
God STILL wants you
God still LOVES YOU=do NOT
Let fear and doubt set in
“I will hear their DEFECTION=says the Lord=
I WILL LOVE THEM FREELY” Hosea 14:5
NOTHING can SEPARATE you/us
=From God=unless it is
From our own CHOOSING
For Romans 8:38 tells us
Just such that
“For I am CONVINCED=that
NEITHER death nor life
Neither angels nor demons
Neither the PRESENT
Nor the future
Nor any powers
Neither height nor depth
Nor anything else
In ALL CREATION
Will be able
To SEPARATE us
From the LOVE
Of God
That is
IN Christ Jesus OUR LORD” Romans 8:38-39
God wants you BACK=
NOTHING can separate us
From the LORD-
Our God
You ASK why would
God want you back?
Because that is
WHO God is=that IS
What God does BEST=
Is LOVE
He is the FORGIVING PARENT
Of all his
PRODIGAL sons and daughters
ALL we have to do
Is read and RE-READ Luke 15
To KNOW tho God is
About ONE lost sheep=one LOST coin=
And one lost PRODIGAL SON
Missing his FATHER
“Then Jesus told them THIS PARABLE:
'Suppose one of you has
A hundred sheep
And LOSES one of them
Doesn't he LEAVE the 99=
In the open country=
And go after the LOST SHEEP
Until he finds it?'” Luke 15:3-4
“Or suppose a woman
Has ten SILVER coins
And loses one
Doesn't she LIGHT a lamp
Sweep the house
And SEARCH carefully
Until she FINDS IT?” Luke 15:8
And then we have the PRODIGAL SON=
Who DESERTED the Father=
But the Father forgave him=and
HELD no malice

'Quick=bring the BEST ROBE
And put it on him
Put a RING on his finger
And sandals on his feet
BRING the fattened calf
And kill it
Let's have a FEAST
And CELEBRATE
For this SON of mine

So they began

And this is the WAY
It will be=with YOU AND GOD
If you RETURN TO HIM
GOD LOVES YOU!=he WANTS
You BACK=He holds NOTHING
AGAINST YOU
God TAKES US BACK=because
GOD IS LOVE!=that is WHO HE IS

UNITING WITH THE LORD

We should LIVE in UNITY
With God=and with others
We should look for REASONS
To PRAISE God=and encourage
Others DAILY
Despite all the bad=all the evil
In the world=there IS
So much to be thankful for
So MUCH= to PRAISE
God for
“Come let us=
Sing JOYFULLY to the Lord” Psalm 95:1
In BETWEEN the daily stressful
NEWS that we receive on
The television and computer
Every day
There is SO MUCH
To be THANKFUL for
So much for us
To ENCOURAGE our family and our friends
So easy to REACH OUT
And try to
UNITE with our world
It STARTS in the
Morning=when we wake up
FULLY ALIVE
And CONTINUES when we HEAR
GOOD health news about our
FAMILY and friends
And HITS a beautiful level=
WHEN we UNITE with others
In PRAYER=for common causes
So much to be
THANKFUL for=and=
To UNITE with God and others
PRAISE GOD and encourage others!
“The Lord is MY STRENGTH
And my shield
My HEART=
Trusts in him
And he HELPS me
My heart
LEAPS for joy
And with my song=

MESSENGERS OF GOD!
MESSENGERS OF GOD
Do you KNOW that as 21st century
Apostles=entrusted with the WORD
Of God
That we ARE to SPREAD
The word of God=if not
With our WORDS
At least by LIVING LIVES of love-
Forgiveness=and KINDNESS?
We are MESSENGERS OF GOD
We are ENTRUSTED
With the WORD of God=
We are to SPREAD
The word of God
“He sends forth
His COMMAND to the earth
Swiftly RUNS his word” Psalm 147:15
“SWIFTLY runs his word” conjures up
The IMAGE of an
Olympic torch bearer
But in GOD'S KINGDOM=the host city
Is the ENTIRE WORLD=and EACH one of us
Is the torch bearer
To CARRY the good news
To SPREAD the good news
Of the LORD
MESSENGERS of God
Spreading the WORDS=
RUNNING with the word
We are=MESSENGERS OF GOD!
“ But those
Who HOPE in the Lord
Will RENEW their strength
They will SOAR
On wings like EAGLES
They will RUN
And not grow weary
They will walk
And NOT grow faint” Isaiah 40:31

FAITH IN THE DARKNESS OF LIFE
FAITH IN THE
DARKNESS OF LIFE
We LIVE in a dark
And violent world
With murder and killing
ALL over the world
NOT to mention the violence
IN our own American cities
And ALL the white collar crime
And relationship issues
The RESULT:
This world leaves
MANY of us
CRUSHED IN SPIRIT
“The Lord is CLOSE
to the brokenhearted:
And those who are crushed in spirit
HE SAVES” Psalm 34:19
HANG on to your FAITH
Hang on to the Lord
You are going to NEED him
I am SURE each of us
Have felt CRUSHED in spirit
At some time in our lives
But hang on
We can still find HOPE
In the Lord
We can still FIND COMFORT
In this dark world
We just need to practice
OUR FAITH DAILY=we need
To PRAY daily
HANG on to your faith
Pray with ALL of your might
“She said to herself
'IF I only
Touch his cloak-
I will be HEALED'
“Jesus turned and saw her-
'Take heart daughter-'
He said-
'Your FAITH has healed you'
And the woman
Was HEALED at that moment” Matthew 9:21-22
And our faith CAN heal us

Yes my friends=we must trudge on
IN FAITH-because the Lord
Is IN the darkness
The LORD is in the deepest-
Darkest spots of our own soul
That IS where and when
We all FIND GOD
And maybe one day like Jacob
We will be able
To look back to our brokenness
And say like Jacob
“Truly the Lord is in
This spot
Although I did not know it” Genesis 29:16
We NEED to hang on
To our FAITH-
And continue to PRAY
Through the dark moments
Of our life
And SURELY we will find God
We will find our Jesus
And find COMFORT-like Jacob
In the midst of
OUR BROKEN hearts and crushed spirits

THE GREAT EQUALIZER!
THE GEAT EQUALIZER!
The great EQUALIZER in life
Is that we
Are all HUMAN
For that reason=we all NEED
To know HOW to forgive=
And to be FORGIVEN=and we
Should do well
To do it GRACIOUS LY
“.............how OFTEN MUST
I forgive him?............”= Jesus answered
“I say to you=NOT seven times=
But seventy-seven times” Matthew18:21-22
Just like we all NEED
To CLEAN our homes=and
Make it spotless
We all need to WORK
On ourselves INTERIORLY speaking=
And we all need to be CLEAN
ONE of the HARDEST CHALLENGES
In CHRISTIAN LIFE=as forgiveness
STRETCHESHUMILITY
We all need to ACKNOWLEDGE=
And apologize when we have
HURT SOMEONE
It is the GREAT EQUALIZER=
In life=when we have the
TRUE HUMILITY to admit
What we have done
What we have FAILED to do
And sometimes what we have SAID
And what we wish
We would NOT have said
Forgiveness and living with TRUE HUMILITY
In life
ARE GREAT EQUALIZERS
“In your majesty
Ride forth VICTORIOUSLY
In the cause of truth=
HUMILITY=and justice=
Let your right hand
ACHIEVE awesome deeds” Psalm 45:4
“WISDOM'S instruction
Is to fear the Lord
And HUMILITY

SUBMIT yourselves

CLOTHE yourself with HUMILITY

'God OPPOSES the proud

Forgiveness is the REMINDER
That we are ALL
Much MORE than our mistakes=
Our flaws=and our failures
And so we CONTINUE to CLEAN
Our houses=and we continue to
CLEAN ourselves up
INTERIORLY SPEAKING
Wit love and COURAGE=
As our dust cloths
And we RECEIVE FORGIVENESS
77 times and BEYOND
Dear LORD=we PRAY=let us
ALWAYS have the courage
To FORGIVE OTHERS=and RECEIVE
Forgiveness when need be
“Now forgive MY SIN
Once more
And PRAY yo the Lord
Your God
To TAKE this deadly plague
Away from me” Exodus 10:17
HELP us to REMEMBER dear Lord=
Always=that HUMILITY and forgiveness=
In LIGHT of our mistakes
ARE the GREAT EQUALIZERS
In life
