THE PRESENCE OF JESUS


Jesus did all kinds
Of HEALING
In his life


Both from a DISTANCE=
And when he was
PHYSICALLY PRESENT


Similarly=when we PRAY=
There are days
When Jesus feels
DISTANT to us


And then there are those days=
When we actually feel
He is LIVING in our heart


“Moved with pity-
He stretched out
His hand-
TOUCHED HIM.......” Mark 1:41


He=Jesus=healed from a distance
When he healed the daughter
Of the Syrophoenician woman


The servant of the centurion=
And an official=whose son
Was actively dying


But today I want
To talk about
The PRESENCE OF JESUS


When he HEALED
A LEPER


He knew that the leper
Needed a TENDER GLANCE


He needed the PHYSICAL PRESENCE
Of Jesus


The leper was shunned
And BANNED from all contact
With the REST OF the world


He needed the
TOUCH of Jesus=
HE NEEDED THE TOUCH OF JESUS!


Like we all do
In our daily adventures


“Blessed are those
Who have learned
To acclaim you


Who walk
In the light
OF YOUR PRESENCE” Psalm 89:15


“For Christ did not enter
A sanctuary
Made with human hands


That was only a copy
Of the true one


He entered heaven itself=
Now to appear for us
IN GOD'S PRESENCE” Hebrews 9:24


This leper
Needed to FEEL
Some INCLUSION=
He needed to feel
A sense of COMMUNITY


He needed to feel
Christ's PRESENCE=
The way that
WE ALL DO


We all need to BE
INCLUDED in GOD'S WORLD


“Lord=the God of ISRAEL
You are righteous!


We are left this day
As a remnant=
Here we are=before you
In our guilt-


Though because of it
NOT one of us
Can stand
IN YOUR PRESENCE” Ezra 9:15


We all need
To BELONG with others=
WITH THE COMMUNITY


Today=may we all FOLLOW
The HEALING OF JESUS=
And the PRESENCE
Of Jesus=in our lives


Just like the POOR LEPER=
In the name of Jesus=and our EVER HEALING FATHER!
