WITHDRAWING TO REST
We live in a very FAST
Paced world=that keeps
On moving
We BARELY have time
To think=
Let alone pray
But Jesus ALWAYS
Took time to REST
And to PRAY=
We would be wise
To EMULATE HIM
“Jesus WITHDREW
Toward the sea
With his disciples” Mark 3:7
Jesus was all GOOD=
And he offered GOODNESS
To the people
He offered healing-forgiveness
And GRACE=
Is it any wonder-
He withdrew
From the crowd
TO REST?
We NEED to rest too=
We need to
BE ALONE WITH GOD
Sometimes we need to
WITHDRAW to ourselves
And rest and PRAY
“For six days-
Work is to be done
But the seventh day
Is a day
Of SABBATH REST=
Holy to the LORD” Exodus 31:15
“Whoever dwells
In the shelter
Of the MOST HIGH
Will REST
In the shadow=
Of the ALMIGHTY” Psalm 91:1
And TECHNOLOGY is not rest=
You need to get
AWAY from the technology
You need to get AWAY
From the television and the computer
You need to SPEND
Some time=IN NATURE=
In the mountains-
Or at the beach
Get alone to yourself
WITHDRAWING to rest
How often
Do you read
In the bible
WHERE Jesus-
Goes off by himself
To pray=
We need
To do that too
“This is what
The Lord says=
'Stand at the crossroads
And look=
Ask for
The ancient paths
Ask where the good way is-
And walk in it
And you will FIND REST
For your souls'” Jeremiah 6:16
“Come to me
All you-
Who are weary
And burdened
And I will GIVE YOU REST” Matthew 11:28
So BE LIKE Jesus=
Take a little time
To yourself EACH DAY
If you can
And WITHDRAW to REST
And to pray
In the names of Jesus=and our ever RESTFUL GOD
