Today we CELEBRATE=THE VISITATION of our Mary=

To her Cousin Elizabeth and her husband Zechariah=

 

And ONCE AGAIN=we celebrate=THE YES=of our Mary=

To her Holy Father God’s WILL=through AN ANGEL=”For

He has looked=WITH FAVOR=on his lowly servant=From

This day=all generations=will CALL ME BLESSED”                                                              Luke 1:48

 

But=WHAT ABOUT US?=Do we have THE STRENGTH to

SAY YES=to our God’s will=and DO whatever is

ASKED of us?=PRAYING FOR THAT YES STRENGTH=to do

GOD’S WILL=with our lives=PRAYING for the=grace of God

To have faith=and GRACE=Just like Mary

 

What would our=OWN RESPONSE=Be to the

Holy Father God=IF he called upon us=through

An angel?=What would be do?=PRAYING FOR that

YES STRENGTH=to respond to=OUR HOLY FATHER GOD!

 

“It is God=who arms me=WITH STRENGTH=and keeps

My way secure”                                                                                                                          2 Samuel 22:33

 

“…….But those=who hope in the Lord=Will renew

THEIR STRENGTH=They will soar on wings=Like eagle’s

They will run=and not grow weary=they will walk=and

Not be faint”                                                                                                                                    Isaiah 40:31

 

“For the foolishness of God=is wiser=than human wisdom=and

The weakness of God=is STRONGER=than HUMAN STRENGTH”                           1 Corinthians 1:25

 

Mary felt herself=to BE a “SERVANT”=yet she was the

GREATEST human being=whoever lived=Outside of her Son

Jesus Christ=THE GOD-MAN

 

She felt unworthy=yet she UNDERSTOOD=that God CAN

Accomplish everything=He wanted=from whoever he wanted

AND CHOSE=What about you and me?=Are we PRAYING FOR
THAT YES STRENGTH=to our ever LOVING GOD?

 

Mary KNEW=God could use her=for she KNEW who God

Had already used=Abraham=Gideon=and Moses among others=

NO ONE=Is unworthy with our Lord=It just takes a LOVING

HEART=in God’s eyes=PRAYING FOR=THAT YES STRENGTH=that

God can USE US=Like Mary

 

“Then this is=How you SHOULD PRAY=’Our Father

In heaven=Hallowed be your name’”                                                                                            Matthew 6:9

 

“In the same way=The SPIRIT=helps is=in our weakness=We

Do not know=What we OUGHT TO PRAY FOR=but the Spirit

Himself=Intercedes for us=through wordless groans”                                                      Romans 8:26

 

WITH GOD’S GRACE=Mary found the STRENTH=to say

“YES” to angels=The angels of God=and FULFILL God’s plan

For the world=THROUGH HER FAMILY

 

We and OUR FAMILIES=can work for God too=IF we continue

PRAYING FOR THE STRENGTH=to say YES=to our God=and HIS

Holy Son Jesus Christ!

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our EVER LOVING=ever living=ever

PLAN FULFILLING=Holy Father God!

Of God=IS our JOB TOO

 

We had=THE GREATEST FAMILY LIFE=In our Home=at 3400

Massachusetts Avenue=we had so MANY CHARACTERS=

IN and out=of our house=SOMEONE was always there

 

We USED=to have a STANDING JOKE=among our family=

“IF THESE WALLS COULD TALK”=What a STORY it

Would tell=what a SITCOM=we would have

 

My MOM used to say=we had 40 OR MORE PEOPLE=

LIVE in our home=30 days or longer=which BRINGS ME

To the point

 

What about=OUR CHURCHES=our temples=our mosques=IF

The walls could talk=WOULD IT TELL=a story of God=of LOVE

OF FORGIVENESS=of OUR HEAVENLY FATHER GOD=”……..Like

Living stones=let yourselves BE BUILT=into a

SPIRITUAL HOUSE……..”                                                                                                                  1 Peter 2:5

 

What about you and me?=What about OUR LOVE=and

FORGIVENESS=Are we SHARING THE MERCY=and love

Of God?=What IF=our spiritual walls could talk?=What would they

SAY about us?=Are we SHARING LOVE and forgiveness=with

ALL OTHERS?

 

“Surely=YOUR GOODNESS AND LOVE=will follow me=all

The days of my life=and I will dwell=in THE HOUSE of the Lord

Forever”                                Psalm 23:6                                                                              

 

“The burnt offerings and sacrifices=will be

Accepted on my altar=for MY HOUSE=will be

Called a=HOUSE OF PRAYER=for all nations”                                                                       Isaiah 56:7

If you are BUILT on rock=like out Holy Father God=and

Our Jesus=If you are SHARING the mercy and forgiveness

Like them=then you are SURELY=A CHILD OF GOD

 

For it is OUR JOB TOO to do this=to SHARE GOD’S MERCY

AND LOVE=with all others=I want to do this=I HOPE

That you do too

 

“John answered’=’Anyone=who has two shirts=SHOULD SHARE=

With the one=who has none=and anyone=who has food should=

“Nevertheless=the one who receives=Instruction in

The word==SHOULD SHARE=all good things=with

And so my brothers and sisters=REMEMBER you are a

“LIVING STONE”=a living CHILD=of THE GOD OF LOVE=and

EVERY WORD=that comes out of your mouth=SHOULD SHARE

THE MERCY AND GOODNESS OF GOD=with all others

 

You are a CHILD OF GOD=LIVE LIKE IT=Love God=Love all others

Make YOUR CHURCH=Make YOUR HOME=a SPIRITUAL HOUSE of

The Lord=of GOD’S LOVE

When I am down

When I am troubled

When I no longer want to try

God hears me cry

 

When I am feeling so low

I just want to die

God hears me cry

 

When I no longer know what to do

When I see no hope

For me or for you

God hears me cry

 

When I am feeling so miserable

That I even don’t know

If I can face another day

God hears me cry

 

When the bills are rolling in

And I don’t have anything to send out

God hears me cry

 

But most of all

Even when I am facing ALL these things

God hears me cry

 

God hears my cry of love

My cry of thanks

And my cry

OF HOPE IN TOMORROW

SO MANY=of us=IN TODAY’S WORLD=Want riches

Want fame=Want whatever we can get=FOR OURSELVES

 

But I suggest to you=Greatness=REAL GLORY=Can only

BE FOUND=in the CROSS of Christ=ONLY in giving ourselves

Away to someone else=For someone else=For the LEAST

Of our brothers and sisters=

“You do not know=what you are ASKING=Can you

Drink the chalice=That I drink=or be baptized=With the baptism=

With which I am baptized?”                                                                                                              Mark 10:38

 

Jesus=ON the way to Jerusalem=TOOK the apostles aside=

Telling them EXACTLY=what would happen=He told them=

 

He would SUFFER=be put to death=and AFTER three days=He

Would RISE from the dead=NOT a single other ONE OF US=

In this world=or the next=Could walk this path to glory=to find glory

And greatness=IS FOUND=Only in the CROSS OF CHRIST=Not one of us

Could do this my brothers and sisters

 

So PICK UP YOUR CROSSES=and Follow Jesus=and find

YOUR WAY TO GLORY=In the cross of Christ

 

“Whoever=does not take up=THEIR CROSS=and follow me=Is

Not worthy of me=Whoever=finds their life=will lose it=and

WHOEVER loses their life=for my sake=will find it”                                                                      Mathhew 10:38

 

“Then he said to them’=’Whoever wants to be my disciple=

Must deny themselves=and take up=THEIR CROSS=daily and

Follow me”                                                                                                                                                      Luke 9:23

 

The APOSTLES=James and John=Wanted the GLORY of Jesus too=

But Jesus tells them=They could NOT DO=what he has to do=

And NEITHER could we=NOT a single other person=IN

The HISTORY of the world=Could do this

 

We need To CARRY OUR CROSSES just like Jesus=IN THE HOPES of

Living forever in him=and with him=and the HOLY FATHER GOD!=

ONLY in=THE CROSS=of Christ=can we EVER find greatness=find

GLORY!

 

“For Christ=did not send me= to baptize=but to preach

The gospel=--------Not with wisdom=and eloquence=lest

THE CROSS OF CHRIST=be emptied of its power”                                                                  1 Corinthians 1:17

 

“And having=disarmed the power and authorities=He

Made a public spectacle=of them=Triumphing over them

BY THE CROSS”                                                                                                                                             Colossians 2:15

 

“……..Fixing our eyes=on Jesus=the pioneer and perfecter

Of the faith=For the joy=set before him=HE ENDURED THE CROSS=

Scorning its shame=and sat down=at the right hand=of the throne

Dear Lord=Dear Jesus=WHEN we are OVERWHELMED with

Difficulties=in this life=Help us to=PICK UP OUR CROSSES

And follow you=with our lives

 

For GLORY=for greatness=is FOUND=only in the WAY of your

WELCOME HOME PRODIGAL SON

 

 

In the 15^th chapter

Of Saint Luke’s Gospel

Jesus tells us the story

Of the lost son

And his loving father

 

We call it

The story of the Prodigal Son

 

What is interesting

Is never once in the story

Is the word, “prodigal” used

 

The young son

Sets off for a distant land

And squanders his wealth

On wild living

 

How many of us

Haven’t made a mistake or two

When we were young

 

When famine hits

And after he has squandered everything

He decides to go home

And throw himself

On the mercy of his father

 

But to his surprise

Instead of being angry

His father throws a party for him

 

To the father’s surprise

The older brother

Refuses to join the party

 

He feels he has been slighted

Because he has been loyal and dependable

 

Which brings us to the point

Which of us isn’t guilty of something

Something done or something left undone

 

For every sin committed

There are 100 good deeds

Left undone

 

For every violent act

There are 100 acts of

Coldness, indifference, and condescending attitudes

 

We ALL deserve

A second chance

 

As Dickens wrote,

“There is so much bad in the best of us

And so much good in the worst of us

It ill becomes any of us

To speak badly of the rest of us”

We can OVERCOME=all our problems=Our health challenges=

OUR FINANCIAL LIMITATIONS=and our relationship tests=all of

THIS IS POSSIBLE=with our God=when we TAKE IT

STEP BY STEP

 

“In their hearts=Humans plan their course=but the Lord=

ESTABLISHES THEIR STEPS”                                                                                                Proverbs 16:9

 

“Lord=I know that people’s=Lives are not their own=it is

Not for them=to DIRECT THEIR STEPS”                                                                                Jeremiah 10:23

 

Did you EVER STAND=at a BOTTOM=of a hill=and

LOOK UP?=It looks daunting=It looks IMPOSSIBLE

To climb=With its many twists=and turns=and OBSTACLES!

 

But=we can still CLIMB IT=we can still get it done=IF

We approach it=STEP BY STEP=with the HELP OF GOD!=

Our Holy Father God=and Jesus

 

“Since we=Live by the Spirit=let us=KEEP IN STEP=

With the Spirit”                                                                                                                                Galatians 5:25

 

“To this=you were called=Because Christ suffered

For you=Leaving you an example=You should follow

IN HIS STEPS”                                                                                                                             1 Peter 2:21

 

The PATH=to God=in our lives=is FILLED with obstacles=

And doubts=but we=Can still make it=FOR ALL THINGS

Are POSSBLE=with our God=if we APPROACH it=step

BY STEP=then we can=OVERCOME ANYTHING=IT IS POSSIBLE

With our God

 

“Jesus looked at then=and said’=’With man=this is impossible=

But with God=ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE’”                                                                     Matthew 19:26

 

“If you can’=said Jesus=’Everything IS POSSIBLE for=

“IF IT IS POSSIBLE=as far as it depends on you=Live

So my brothers and sisters=No matter=what problem=

You are facing=DON’T GIVE UP=for the ANSWER is=REACHING

OUT for God=and listening to him=and following him

STEP BY STEP=IN LOVE

 

We can overcome everything=with the Lord=and

Our Heavenly Father God=and Jesus=IT IS POSSIBLE

It is POSSIBLE=step by step=With our God

 

“I have=told you these things=so that in me=you

May have peace=In this world=You will have trouble=

But take heart!=I HAVE OVERCOME=the world”                                                                 John 16:33

 

And so my dear brothers and sisters=IF you are looking

At MOUNTAINS of problems=You can overcome them

STEP BY STEP=You can still WIN=the battle of life=with

 

The Help of our Holy Father God=and Jesus=just take them

STEP BY STEP=and OVERCOME=with our God!

 

In Jesus’ name=and In the name=of our FOREVER LOVING=forever living

Ever victorious=HOLY FATHER GOD!

God’s plan is sure

God’s plan is true

God’ word

Is always on the mark

Is it in you

 

Even in the best of we humans

Who try to be true

Who always

Try to do our very best

Sometimes we fail

It has happened to me

Has it ever happened

To you

 

The human element

Leaves us weak

The human element

Leaves us vulnerable

The human element

Leaves us

With us an Achilles heel

 

Jesus Christ

Had that human element

But he triumphed

Over it all

Jesus Christ knew

He had to show

The human element

In order to fail

 

But he was

Willing to do it

In order

To triumph over it all

 

We try and try and try

To triumph

Over our human element

 

I only

Know one thing about it

And that is

Without God in our heart

We are

Doomed to fail

 

Without God

The human element

Leaves us

Our very BLESSINGS=that our Holy Father God=and

Jesus paid for

 

WE KNOW=we think=we Jesus did ALL the hard stuff=

And of course=he did=But we are so BUSY and

CONCERNED=about WHEN Jesus=Is going to RETURN=

We FORGET=to do our part=We forget that Our God=and

Our Jesus=Are IN the SMALL STUFF TOO=

“……..BE HOLY=Because=I AM HOLY”                                                                                      1 Peter 1:16

 

We forget Our Lord=Our Heavenly Father God=is

With us=IN EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE=We are IN

With God all day=OUR GOD IS IN=THE SMALL and

The Ordinary STUFF TODAY

 

Our God is=He is=with us=WHEN WE=go to the bank

When we go to the Doctor’s=even when we are=GETTING

Our haircuts=OUR GOD=is with us=IN THE SMALL STUFF TOO=

In the ordinary=IN EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE=of our lives

 

“I am not saying it=Because I am in need=For I

Have learned=to be content=WHATEVER THE CIRCUMSTANCE”                                         Philippians 4:11

 

“Rejoice always=Pray continually=Give thanks=in all

CIRCUMSTANCES=for this is=God’s will for you=in

Christ Jesus”                                                                                                                                 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

 

That is what=I try=and do=for our God=for our Jesus=

In every situation=in EVERY SMALL THING=That we do=

It is in=THE SMALL THINGS=that we FIND our God=our

Jesus=It is in the SMALL-HOLY THINGS=that Our God

Is there

 

“Your ways=God=are HOLY=what god is as great

“I live=in a high=AND HOLY PLACE=but also with

The one=who is contrite=and lowly in spirit=To revive

Cut someone’s grass=Empty their garbage=SEND someone

A card=SAY A PRAYER for someone else=You will be

GLAD that you did=Our lord Jesus=Our HEAVENLY FATHER God=

Is in the SMALL THINGS TOO

Have you ever=FELT like you=spent yourself

TOTALLY?=then one more person=asks you to do

SOME LOVING SERVICE?=It can be CHALLENGING

Even when we are DOING OUR BEST=to Love God=to

Love others=the TWO COMMANDMENTS OF JESUS

 

That IS the way=that Jesus felt=n Chapter 10=of

Mark’s gospel today=But he REMINDS US=we should

NEVER TIRE=of PROCLAIMING the Kingdom of God=

Especially to the LITTLE CHILDREN=who are so

VERY IMPORTANT=to his kingdom=”Then he EMBRACED
THE CHILDREN=and blessed them=PLACING his hands

On them”                                                                                                                                                 Mark 10:16

 

THE CROWDS=had gathered around Jesus=and

THE Pharisees=had just tried=TO ENTRAP HIM AGAIN=so

Jesus MUST have been very tired=but he gets up

 

DUSTS himself off=and PROCLAIMS THE KINGDOM of God=

To them=NEVER TIRING=of saying YES to his Father=the

HOLY FATHER OF GOD!

 

That is our job too=as 21^st century apostles=to keep ON

Saying yes=to PROCLAIMING the Kingdom of love and

Forgiveness=in this world=No matter=what the circumstances

Of our life are=SAY YES=To the Holy Father God!

 

“When Moses hands=GREW TIRED=they took a stone=and

Put it under him=and he sat on it”                                                                                                Exodus 17:12

 

“Do you not know?=Have you not heard?=The Lord is

The Everlasting God=the Creator of=the ends of=the earth=

He will NOT GROW TIRED=or weary=and his understanding=

No one can fathom”                                                                                                                   Isaiah 40:28

 

“And as for you=brothers and sisters=NEVER TIRE of=

Doing what is good”                                                                                                                       2 Thessalonians 3:13

 

The disciples wanted to protect him=PROTECT JESUS=from

The next wave of people=from further DEAMANDS on=his time

 

But Jesus KNEW=his TIME=on this earth was LIMITED=He

Wanted to make SURE=the apostles knew=THE IMPORTANCE

Of CHILDREN were=in his kingdom=and to NEVER TIRE=and

Always be ready to say YES=to the Holy Father God’s love

And forgiveness=to PROCLAIM=the KINGDOM OF GOD!

NEVER TIRING of it!

 

“The heavens=declare the glory of God=the skies PROCLAIM

The work of his hands”                                                                                                                 Psalm 19:1

 

“For I have not hesitated=TO PROCLAIM TO YOU=

The whole will of God”                                                                                                                Acts 20:27

 

And so=MY FRIENDS=NEVER TIRE=of saying YES

To God and Jesus=and NEVER TIRE PROCLAIMING=or

WELCOMING=THE LITTLE CHILDREN=into your hearts

SAYING YES=To the Kingdom of God=at all times=PROCLAIMING
THE KINGDOM!=At all times

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of The ever LOVING=ever LIVING Holy

Father God=WHO WELCOMES US ALL!

TALENT

 

 

We all

Have talent

In this world

Some more than others

 

In the 25^th chapter

Of Saint Matthew’s Gospel

Jesus tells the story

Of the parable of the talents

 

The man who has 5 talents

Brings back 10

 

The man who has 2 talents

Brings back four

 

But he man with one talent

Buries his talent

 

What are we

Doing with our talent

In today’s world

 

Are we using

Our talent

To spread God’s love

 

You say

You don’t have any talent

But we all do

 

We can all

Have a kind heart

 

We all can have

A listening ear

 

We all can have

A smile

For another human being

 

So we

Ask you Dear Lord

To use us

In whatever way you can

To spread God’s love

 

And to

Look for no reward

 

BUT YOUR LOVE
