LIFE CAN BE UNFAIR=WHAT WILL YOU CHOOSE?
LIFE CAN BE UNFAIR=
WHAT WILL YOU CHOOSE?
This world=this LIFE=is
Definitely UNFAIR=sometimes you
Get more DIFFICULTY than you deserve
And often times=LIFE deals you
A set of UNFAIR CIRCUMSTANCES
That you did not earn or DESERVE
“.........My conscience JOINS
With the Holy Spirit
In BEARING me witness.........” Romans 9:1
So IF life is UNFAIR to you
STILL be grateful and GRACIOUS
In all circumstances
CHOOSE to live out of FORGIVENESS=
Never bitterness=be GRATEFUL and GRACIOUS
At all times
“May God be GRACIOUS to us
And BLESS US
And make his face
SHINE on us” Psalm 67:1
“GRACIOUS words are a honey comb-
SWEET to the soul-
And HEALING to the bones” Proverbs 16:24
Yes-sir=life can be UNFAIR=but
We NEED to CHOOSE to live in HUMILITY=
To ACCEPT=what life
DELIVERS to us
“In your majesty-
Ride forth victoriously
In the case of truth-
HUMILITY-and justice-
Let your right hand-
ACHIEVE awesome deeds” Psalm 45:4
“In the SAME WAY
You who are younger
SUBMIT yourselves to your oldest
All of you=
Clothe yourselves with humility
Toward one another-because
'God opposes the proud
But shows FAVOR to the HUMBLE'” 1 Peter 5:5
SPEAKING of the HUMBLE
Today=we CELEBRATE Saint Martin
De Porres
He was born in Lima, Peru-
And JOINED the THIRD ORDER
Of Dominicans
He REQUESTED simple tasks
To do:
Working in the laundry room
HELPING on the farm
And NURSING sick friars
He believed in small things-
DONE in great love and in the
POWER OF PRAYER
We can all LEARN from him
Despite discrimination due to his race-
And subsequent abandonment by his father-
Society-and members of HIS OWN
Religious community
He CHOSE to forgive over and over
He chose to be HUMBLE
He REMAINED GRACIOUS no matter
How he was treated=he had NO ROOM
For bitterness in his life
“.........But the one who HUMBLES himself
Will be EXALTED” Luke 14:11
When Saint Martin de PORRES died
In 1639=the ENTIRE city of Lima
EXALTED this humble man
So when life TREATS us UNFAIRLY=let
Us remember the EXAMPLE of Saint Martin de PORRES
And respond in a HUMBLE-life-forgiving=life-sustaining ways
In the names of Jesus and his MOST HEAVENLY FATHER
