SEEING THE FACE OF CHIST=IN THEM=
THE POOR


Dear Lord=OUR GOD has
A LOVE AFFAIR with the POOR=
He sees his OWN FACE=the face of God
IN THEM


“............
WHEN you hold a banquet=INVITE
The POOR=the crippled=
The lame=the blind” Luke 14:13


Our Pope FRANCIS=sets the TONE=
He walks the streets=he RIDES
The buses=and he EVEN washes
Inmates' feet in prison


He REMINDS us of his namesake=the
“POOR MAN of Assisi”=Saint Francis=
Who LOVED the poor=like his own self=
Saint Francis of Assisi is widely received to be
The man MOST LIKE Christ=who ever
WALKED this earth


SEE the FACE of Christ in them=
SEEING the face of Christ
In the POOR


“Many Lord=are asking=
'Who will BRING us PROSPERITY?'


Let the LIGHT of your face
SHINE on us” Psalm 4:6


“For God-who said=
'Let LIGHT-
SHINE out of darkness'


Made his light
Shine in our HEARTS


To GIVE us the LIGHT
Of the knowledge of GOD'S GLORY-
Displayed in
The FACE OF CHRIST” 2 Corinthians 4:6


SEEING the FACE of Christ
In the poor


We can't help the POOR
IF we are feeling PITY
For them


We must RESPECT them as PEOPLE
As human beings=CARRYING the IMAGE
Of the FACE of Christ


For WHEN we SEE the
FACE OF CHRIST in the poor-
And ACKNOWLEDGE our own lowliness


Then the food becomes-
The LIVING BREAD of God
The living bread of CHRIST


In fact=NOURISHING us all


“YOUR PEOPLE settled in it
And from your bounty=GOD=


You PROVIDED
For the poor” Psalm 68:10


“BETTER the poor-
Whose WALK is blameless


Than a fool-
Whose lips are perverse” Proverbs 19:1


“The SPIRIT of the LORD
Is on me


Because he=has anointed me
To PROCLAIM GOOD NEWS
To the poor........................” Luke 4:18


Dear Lord=PLEASE always help us
To SEE your IMAGE
In the FACE of the POOR


And RECOGNIZE our own poverty=
And POORNESS in spirit=as we ALL
Become RICH IN YOU
