WHAT IS GETTING IN OUR WAY?

WHAT IS GETTING IN OUR WAY?


Do you EVER ask yourself=
WHAT is getting in the way
Of living your FAITH=
More completely=
And more GENEROUSLY?


I DO=Today we have a
MAN=in the gospel=asking
Jesus=EXACTLY THAT


And he didn't like the answer=
MAYBE I=maybe me=
Wouldn't like it either


“........Go sell=what you have=
And GIVE to the POOR........” Matthew 19:20


The young man is very SINCERE
And realizes his FAITH
Entails obligations


The young man KEEPS the
Commandments=he is decent=
And he ASKS Jesus=


“TEACHER=what good thing
MUST I do
To INHERIT eternal life?” Matthew 19:16


“Jesus answered=
'If you want
To be PERFECT


Go=sell your possessions
And GIVE to the poor


And you will
Have TREASURE IN HEAVEN


Then COME=FOLLOW ME” Matthew 19:21


WHO could do such a thing?
NOT ME=probably not you=
And definitely NOT the young man
For he was VERY WEALTHY


“When the young man
Heard this=
He went away SAD
For he had great WEALTH” Matthew 19:22


What is it
That is GETTING IN YOUR WAY?=
From INHERITING eternal life?


It is NOT always riches
Like clothes=A FINE car=
Or large bank accounts


Sometimes=it's QUALITIES like
Self-centeredness=fear=or
Self-righteousness


But Jesus tells us it
Is STILL POSSIBLE to be SAVED
If we STAY CLOSE to God


“Jesus looked at them and said=
'With man this is IMPOSSIBLE=
But with GOD-ALL THINGS
Are POSSIBLE'” Matthew 19:26


So I ask you=I ASK MYSELF again=
What is GETTING IN OUR WAY?


Leave it all behind=and
STAY CLOSE to God


With God=all things
ARE POSSIBLE


“If you can?,' said Jesus
'Everything is POSSIBLE
For the ONE=who believes'” Mark 9:23


“Jesus looked at them
And said='with MAN this
IS IMPOSSIBLE=but with God


All things ARE POSSIBLE'” Mark 10:27


Dear Lord=our APPROACHABLE Jesus=
Help us to TURN
To you=and OVERCOME
What is IN OUR WAY


In your name Jesus=and the name
Of your ALL-LOVING FATHER
