THE CONVERSION=OF OUR HEARTS

 

Today=the Pharisees=try to

ENTRAP Jesus=by asking him

Yet another question

 

“Teacher=which COMMANDMENT

In the law=IS THE GREATEST?”                                                                                             Matthew 22:36

 

They are HOPING=Jesus

Will CHOOSE ONE commandment=IMPLYING

That the other commandments

Are not as important

 

But as ALWAYS=Jesus is

TOO SMART=to be entrapped

He turns it around =on them

By telling us=it is

ALL ABOUT LOVE

 

“Jesus replied’=

‘LOVE the Lord=your God=with

All your heart=and with all

Your soul=and with all your mind’

 

This is the first=and greatest commandment

And the second is=like it

‘LOVE your neighbor=as yourself’=All the Law

And the Prophets

Hang on these two commandments”                                                                                Matthew 22:37-40

 

You see=brothers and sisters=

Our Lord Jesus=is NOT looking at

GIVING us a set of rules= to follow

 

But in interested in=THE CONVERSION

OF OUR HEARTS=to Love

The people back then=didn’t get it

 

And we the people today

DON’T GET IT=or we wouldn’t have

This country and world=IN

The shape that it is in

 

We need to=CONVERT OUR HEARTS

And change our HEARTS=to loving

God and to LOVING EACH OTHER

 

“But if from there=you seek

The Lord your God=you will find him

 

If you seek him=with ALL YOUR HEART

And with=all your soul”                                                                                                        Deuteronomy 4:29

 

“But the Lord=said to Samuel=

‘Do not consider=his appearance

Or his height=for I=have rejected him

 

The Lord does=not look

At the things=people look at=People

Look at the outward appearance=but

The Lord=LOOKS AT THE HEART’”                                                                                1 Samuel 16:7

 

“Search me God=and know

MY HEART=test me and know

My anxious thoughts’”                                                                                                         Psalm 139:23

 

MY DEAR FRIENDS=the Lord

Does NOT=just want us to abide

By a set of rules=he wants

 

THE CONVERSION=OF OUR HEARTS

To love=that is what makes us

CHRIST’S APOSTLES

 

Dear Lord=we pray today

That we=just

Do not abide=by your TEN COMMANDMENTS

But we follow=Your commandment OF LOVE

In our hearts

THE CONVERSION=OF OUR HEARTS!

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our FOREVER LOVING and living=Holy Father God!
