I THINK I WOULD FALL DOWN

Imaging this
In today’s world

A great man---a Holy Reverent man
Is in your town
And in a parade---on foot

You are well off
A tax collector---working for the government
Or perhaps a CPA

You are a short man
And you cannot see
This Holy Reverent man
So you run away
And climb a tree
So that you can see

As this Holy Man
Passes by you he says,
“Zacchaeus, come down immediately
I want to stay in your house tonight”

You have this bad reputation
Because you are a tax collector
And all the people
Begin to talk about you

You are in awe
That he chose you
To come to your house and stay
You think,
“Why me?”

I don’t know about you
But I think
I would be so stunned
That I would fall down
I would fall
Right out of the tree

You are so touched
That this Holy Man
Has chosen you,
That you say,

               “ Lord, here and now
I give all of my possessions
                  To the poor,
                  If I have cheated anyone
I will pay back 4x the amount”                                             1 Luke 19:8

Jesus said to Zacchaeus,

“Today, salvation has come to this house
                  Because this man, too
                  Is a Son of Abraham
For the Son of Man came to seek
And to SAVE what was lost”                                               1 Luke 19:9&10
