GOD’S GIFTS TO US ARE FREE

 

We LIVE in a world

That is FULL of MANY IDOLS

 

We might think that it is

ONLY some statue

Of the golden calf

 

But the TRUTH IS=it is

ANYTHING in life

That we PLACE above God

 

It can be ANOTHER person=

A place=or even a thing-and it

CAN BE even our own actions

Or ideas

 

Or wealth can become

An idol=IF

We think we can use it-

To CONTROL our fate-and-

KEEP God on the sidelines

 

“OUR God is in heaven

Whatever he wills-he does-

THEIR idols are silver and gold

The handiwork of men”                                                                                                                     Psalm 115:3-4

 

ALL of us-even us CHRISTIANS=

Can get caught up

In the glamour of our works

Of our hands-hearts-and minds

 

OVER and over

We HAVE to remind ourselves

Just as SCRIPTURE reminds us

 

That GOD’S GREATEST GIFTS

To us=are FREE=

And given to us

For HIS PURPOSES=NOT for our own

And are BEYOND our own control

 

“He upholds

The CAUSE of the oppressed

 

And gives food

To the hungry

 

The LORD sets PRISONERS FREE”                                                                                                         Psalm 146:7

 

YES SIR!=we are so so

DEPENDING on God=

 

 

Often times we become PRISONERS=

Of our own ideas=our own thoughts=

And OUR OWN GOALS

 

But GOD’S GIFTS to us-

Are FREE=and he does SET us free

From ANYTHING that can control us-

If we-

KEEP our thoughts on him

 

“So do this-my son-

To FREE yourself

 

SINCE you have fallen

Into your neighbor’s hands

 

GO=to the point of exhaustion=

And give your neighbor no rest”                                                                                                   Proverbs 6:3

 

“…….. BECAUSE through Christ Jesus

The law of the SPIRIT

Who gives life

 

Has set us FREE

From the law of sin and death

 

For what the law

Was POWELESS to do

Because-it was weakened by the flesh

 

GOD did

By SENDING his own SON

In the LIKENESS of sinful flesh

 

To be a sin OFFERING……..”                                                                                                                  Romans 8:2-2

 

SO MY FRIENDS=TURN away

From ALL such idols=GOD’S GIFTS

To us are free

 

It is EASY to get caught up

In WORSIPPING IDOLS=we all

HAVE done it at one time=

Or another

 

LET GOD be God=and you

Be you=DON’T ever bow down

To the golden calves

Of this world=

In WHATEVER form they do come

 

GOD’S GIFTS to us are FREE

 

Lord=MAY your will

BE DONE in me=and in US

 

In Jesus’ name=we pray
