HIS AGENDA OR OURS?

HIS AGENDA OR OURS?


We WAKE UP every day
With a to-do list
And what we want to ACCOMPLISH


Buy the groceries=get the car
Fixed=go shopping=for what
We want=what we want to watch
On television


It is easy to FORGET
That we LIVE in God's world=
And to sit down=QUIETLY
IN PRAYER


And ASK ourselves=what does he
WANT for us this day?


“Come away by yourselves
To a DESERTED PLACE
And REST awhile” Mark 6:31


Dear Lord=we PRAY=help us
QUIET ourselves down=
And REST with you=
For awhile


HIS AGENDA OR OURS?


FOLLOW the plans
Of the Lord=
Quiet ourselves=dear LORD


“He makes me lie down
In green pastures
He leads me
BESIDE QUIET WATERS” Psalm 23:2


“The QUIET WORDS
Of the wise
Are more
To be heeded


Than the shouts
Of a ruler of fools” Ecclesiastes 9:17


“Rather it should be
That of your inner self


The unfading beauty
Of a gentle and
QUIET spirit


Which is of great WORTH
In GOD'S SIGHT” 1 Peter 3:4


DEAR LORD=we thank you
Today=for ALWAYS reminding us
Of who and what
Is truly important


HELP us to NOT so much
Focus on our plans
But to remember yours


And to remember that
We are your children=
And we are CHILDREN OF GOD

Help us to LIVE UP
To your plans
And to KNOW that your plans
For us


ARE the plans
That really matter

And NOT to harm you
Plans to give you HOPE

Dear Lord=when we WAKE UP
In the morning
Help us to FOLLOW your agenda=
NOT OURS


Help us to get to
A QUIET PLACE
And REST IN YOU


And help us to PRAY=and
PUT your plans
For our day
AHEAD of our own
