IT IS FOR US

IT IS FOR US


God made the SABBATH
For all of us=it was
MADE FOR MAN=at least
That is what Jesus tells us


“Then he said to them
'The Sabbath
Was MADE for man
Not man for the Sabbath


So the Son of Man
Is LORD
Even of the SABBATH'” Mark 2:27-28


In Jesus' time=the Pharisees
EXCERCISED control
Over the people


By insisting on nitpicking
OBEDIENCE to the law


The people were ALWAYS
Having to ask them
For GUIDANCE


They were falling SHORT
And they were needing
To make it RIGHT
With rituals
And gifts to the Temple priests


The SABBATH DAY=whatever day
That it is=was made for us
By God
Was made for us BY JESUS


And it is OK to
DO GOOD on the Sabbath


“I ask you
Is it lawful
To DO GOOD
On the sabbath


Rather than to do evil
To SAVE LIFE
Rather than to destroy it?” Luke 6:9


The SABBATH DAY
Was made for us
IT IS FOR US!


“He looked around
To them all
And then said
To the man
'STRETCH out your hand'


He did so
And his hand
Was completely RESTORED


But the Pharisees and the teachers
Of the law
Were furious


And began to discuss
With one another


What they might do
To Jesus” Luke 6:10-11


Under Jesus
A NEW TRADITION
Was emerging


He made it known
That the Sabbath rules
Are less important
Than HAVING COMPASSION
And helping people


Jesus was
ALL about COMPASSION
And love


“When he saw
The crowds
He had COMPASSION
On them


Because they were
Harassed and helpless


Like sheep WITHOUT a SHEPHERD” Matthew 9:36


The SABBATH is for us
My dear friends=and Jesus was
And IS=the REASON for that


In Jesus' name=and in the name=of our WEEKLY DAY for HIM and the FATHER
