LEANING ON MY ROCK

 

LEANING ON MY ROCK

There is something

ABOUT ROCK=it is solid=

It is strong=

I sense a KINSHIP

With it=

When I rest my hand=ON ROCK

Rock is a lot like Jesus=

It is solid and IMMOVABLE

LEANING ON MY ROCK!

“........and blessed be MY ROCK!” Psalm 18:4

LEANING on my Jesus=

He is always there

For me=I could NOT

Have made it through life

WITHOUT rock=

Without my Jesus

There is something COMFORTING

About the sturdiness

And immovability of rock

Like Jesus=it brings

COURAGE AND HOPE

For my spirit

LEANING on my rock-

LEANING ON MY JESUS!

“Trust in the Lord-

With all your heart-

And LEAN NOT

On your own understanding” Proverbs 3:5

It is no wonder

That the psalmist-

Refers to God as a ROCK

Stones are some

Of the oldest

And most DURABLE SUBSTANCES

On our earth

How appropriate

That our Lord

Is being described

AS OUR ROCK

As the rock of

ENDURING LOVE=the one

Who girds us with strength

“For who is God

Besides the Lord?

And who is the ROCK-

Except our God?” Psalm 18:31

WHEN life attacks us=

When people attack us-

When our situation

Is especially shaky

Or when our FAITH

Is faltering

That is when we NEED

Our ROCK=that is

When we need OUR LORD

“He lifted me-

Out of the slimy pit-

Out of the mud

And mire

He set my feet

ON A ROCK-

And gave me

A firm place to stand” Psalm 40:2

“Therefore everyone who hears

These words of mine-

And puts them into practice

Is like a wise man

Who built his house

ON THE ROCK” Matthew 7:24

When we are WEAK=when

This world is attacking us=

We need the RESILIENT PRESENCE

And strength of the Lord

We need the ROCK strong strength

Of the Lord=

LEANING on my ROCK=

Yesterday-today-and every day

FOR ALL OF ETERNITY

In Jesus' name=and in the name of our FOREVER SOLID and stable FATHER
