SIGN'S OF GOD'S LOVE

 

SIGNS OF GOD'S LOVE

The Pharisees were PESSING Jesus=

They were looking for some

KIND of sign=that Jesus

Was the MESSIAH

But the TRUTH was=the only

SIGNS they were going to get

Were the signs that Jesus

Had already been giving

The signs of HIS GOODNESS=love=

Generosity and compassion=he was

SHOWING them=as he shows us

The signs of his

EVERY DAY LOVE

“The Pharisees came forward

And began to ARGUE

With him=seeking........

A sign from heaven

To test him

Jesus sighed

From the depth

Of his SPIRIT”                                                                                                    Mark 8:11-12

The truth is that the PHARISEES

Ill-willed testing shows us

That their HEARTS were

ALREADY CLOSED

How about us?=Are our hearts

COMPLETELY closed too?

Closed to God and Jesus' everyday

Love and coincidences=they saw

People HEALED=demons cast out

The dead RAISED=and thousands fed

BY a few loaves of bead

And fish

WE read about the MIRACLES

Everyday in the bible=

Are our hearts HARDENED too?

CAN'T we SEE the signs

Of God's and Jesus' every day LOVE

In our lives?

“And God said=

'This is the SIGN

Of the COVENANT

I am making

Between me and you

A covenant

For ALL generations to come

I have set my RAINBOW

In the clouds

And it will be

The SIGN of the COVENANT

Between me and the earth'”                                                                                            Genesis 9:12-13

Signs of GOD'S LOVE=

Includes the RAINBOW=

The covenant of the LORD

“Then some of the Pharisees=

And teachers of the law

Said to him=

'Teacher=we WANT to see a sign

From you'”                                                                                                                     Matthew 12:38

“'WHAT are we going

To do with these men?'=they asked

'EVERYONE living in Jerusalem knows

They have PERFORMED-

A notable SIGN=

And we CANNOT DENY IT'”                                                                                             Acts 4:16

SIGNS OF GOD'S LOVE

As long as we KEEP

Our eyes and ears open=

We can EXPERIENCE goodness         

And understand it

We see GOD'S LOVE every day

In a bird singing=in/when

We RENEW ourselves and

FEEL RESTORED

As well as   

WHEN family and friends CALL

To check in on us

Or when children or grandchildren

TEACHING us new things

Dear God=Dear Lord=

Help us to keep our EYES and EARS OPEN

To see the SIGNS OF GOD'S LOVE

Every day of our lives

In the names of JESUS and his MOST GLORIOUS FATHER
