A father should be
A sign of inspiration
For his child
A father should try
To be a sign of
Love, honesty, and hope
A father should be
Fun to be with
For his child
A father should be
A disciplinarian
For his child--when he has to be
A father should know
That more than
The material things
He brings his family
It is the intrinsic values
That he teaches his children
That are most important
A father should know
He will fall short
From time to time
Most of all
A father should know
That we love him
No matter what
And that it is up to his children
To love him so
