BITING OUR TONGUE!=
(Saying! the WONG THING=at the wrong TIME)
Have you EVER said=something and RIGHT A WAY
KNEW=it was the wrong thing=to say?=I have
TOO MANY TIMES=in my life=sometimes we offend
People=when we really don’t mean to=IT IS
Sometimes BEST=to leave our thoughts=and
Words unspoken=BITING OUR TOUNGE!
“……..His brothers=saw their Father=
LOVED him=best of all……..”
Genesis 37:4
That was the CASE today=between Joseph
And his set of BROTHERS=Joseph KNEW
He was his Father’s favorite son=and he REMINDED
His brothers of it=ONE too many times=KEEPING
OUR WORDS too ourselves=BITING our tongues!
BITING OUR TONGUE!=just listen=to what Joseph
Said to his brother=
“Joseph had a dream=and WHEN he told his brothers=They
HATED him all the more=He said to them
‘Listen to this dream I had=we were binding sheaves
Of grain=out in the field=when suddenly my sheaf rose
And stood upright=while your sheaves gathered around mine
And=BOWED DOWN TO IT’
“His brothers said to him’=’Do you intend to reign
Over us=Will you actually rule us?’=and they HATED HIM
ALL the more=because of his dream=and what he said” Genesis
37:6-8
BITING OUR TONGUE!=fracturing our family=
BEING sorry=for what we said
But Joseph didn’t let it end there=He had ANOTHER DREAM
That offended everyone=and he even told his Father=who
became
Offended too
His Father rebuked him=and said
“What is this DREAM you had?=Will your Mother and I
And your brothers=actually come and BOW DOWN=to
The ground before you?”
Joseph 37:10
Joseph=FRACTURED his family=for years=Because his brothers
Became JEALOUS of him=they became ESTRANGED
For years
I have seen=this HAPPEN =too many times=in my life
DON’T let it happen to your family=FORTUNATELY
For Joseph and his brothers and Father=this story
Has a happy ending=after many years of estrangement
BITING OUR TONGUES!=feeling sorry for what we have said
BROKEN FAMILIES=pay a price=APOLOGIZE if you need to
We all belong to=and are=CALLED BY GOD=with
GOD’S SAVING GRACE=we can STILL SAVE our families
Like Joseph=and his Father and brothers
“Who is this=robed in splendor?=striding forward
In the greatness=of his strength?
‘I t is I=proclaiming victory=MIGHTY TO SAVE’” Isaiah
63:1
“By this gospel=YOU ARE SAVED=if you
Hold firmly=to the word=I preached to you=Otherwise
You have believed in vain”
1 Corinthians 15:2
And so my FRIENDS=if you didn’t say
You were sorry=say it=It is=NEVER TOO LATE
For your family=and
Go ahead and read=Chapters 37 through 47
Of the book of Genesis=in the OLD TESTAMENT=for
A HEART WARMING FAMILY STORY
TIME HEALS all wounds=God can still
SAVE YOUR FAMILY!
In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our ALWAYS HEALING=always
