RELYING ON THE POWER OF GOD!

RELYNG ON THE POWER OF GOD!


We all FACE FEARS
In life=this week is
HOLY WEEK=and the final days
Leading up to
Jesus' PASSION AND DEATH


Today's first reading does
Not=explicitly name Jesus=
But Isaiah talks about
The “SERVANT” of God=
And the long-awaited MESSIAH


He is called=”my servant” and
“MY CHOSEN ONE-
With whom I am well pleased” Isaiah 42:1


Our Messiah is NOT
Presented as a warrior
Or a king


Instead= he is SEEN
As a GENTLE=nonviolent person
Who has COMPASSION
For oppressed and suffering people


Jesus FACED his fears=
But survived and RESURRECTED


Because Jesus was
RELYING on the
POWER OF GOD


We-too-have to face
Our fears and RELY
On the POWER OF GOD
To conquer our demons


“The Israelites
Were subdued=on that occasion


And the people
Of Judah=were victorious
Because they RELIED
On the Lord


The God
Of their ancestors” 2 Chronicles 13:18


“Were NOT the Cushites
And Libyans=a mighty army
With great numbers
Of chariots and horsemen?


Yet when you-
RELIED on the Lord
He delivered them
Into your hand” 2 Chronicles 16:8


“From birth-
I have RELIED on you
You brought me forth


From my mother's womb
I will ever praise you” Psalm 71:6


Dear Lord=we RELY
On the power of God
Just as you did=
We are NOT AFRAID


Psalm 27 PORTRAYS
The servant WHO
Is not-
Wracked with fear


The servant=Jesus=
And us


RELY on the power
Of God=
NOT their own power


And I have been
Relying on God and Jesus=
EVERY DAY since
My 22^nd birthday


By facing my fears
And relying on the POWER
Of God and Jesus


“Therefore-
We will not FEAR-
Though the earth
Give way


And the mountains
Fall into the
Heart of the sea” Psalm 46:2


“The FEAR of the Lord
Leads to life


Then one rests content
Untouched by trouble” Proverbs 19:23


Did you EVER THINK
How many wrong decisions
And sins are caused
By fear?


But when we RELY
On Jesus=
He directs us to
DO the right thing


In spite of our fears
And TRUST GOD with
The outcome


Dear Lord=help us to
RELY ON YOU=this holy week
And OVERCOME all obstacles-
Just as you did


In Jesus' name=and in the name=of the HOLY=LOVING FATHER
