WE ARE HIS FOLLOWERS!

 

WE ARE HIS FOLLOWERS!

The apostles were HIS FOLLOWERS

In Jesus' day=But we

Are his followers TODAY=

The followers of his word

In this 21st century

“........someone said to Jesus='I will FOLLOW YOU

Wherever you go'”                                                                                                   Luke 9:57

I am CERTAIN we all know

Many followers of Jesus=

That is for SURE

The apostles got to worship

His MIRACLES and enthusiasm=

And the WARMTH of his personality

We get to READ ABOUT=

We get to take it all in

And IMAGINE we were there too=

Right with them=some 2,000 years ago

Jesus asked them as he asks us

To FOLLOW HIM right now=

There is no time

To say=”Let me go home

And check on a few things

And then I will come”

We are his followers too=

And we need to FOLLOW HIM

In love=in charity=

And in forgiveness and peace-

EVERY DAY of our lives

BE one of his followers

And your are in

For a challenging=yet REWARDING JOURNEY

WE ARE HIS FOLLOWERS!

“Moses summoned all Israel

And said=

'Hear-Israel-the decrees and laws-

I declare in your hearing today

Learn them=

And be sure to FOLLOW THEM'”                                                                               Deuteronomy 5:1

“Surely your goodness and love

WILL FOLLOW ME

All the days

Of your life

And I will dwell

In the house

Of the Lord forever”                                                                                                           Psalm 23:6

“Then Jesus said

To his disciples'

'Whoever wants

To be my disciples

Must deny themselves

And take up their cross

And FOLLOW ME'”                                                                                                     Matthew 16:24

NO ONE ever said

It was going to be easy=

To BE a FOLLOWER of Christ=

We will have many crosses too=

And we will have many

Difficulties in life=regardless

We are going to GET TIRED

Along the way=face hardships

And our results=our FRUITS=

Will not always be seen=

It is UP to us

To PERSEVERE on the journey

We WILL find rewards

In being a FOLLOWER of

Christ too=though they may be INTERNAL

“For the SON OF MAN

Is going to come

In his FATHER'S GLORY

With his angels

And then he will

REWARD EACH PERSON 

According to what they have done”                                                                                   Matthew 16:27

We are THE FOLLOWERS

Of Christ=we are to

ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER=as we

Fearlessly FOLLOW JESUS=in word-

Deed and action

In this world into the NEXT=we are

HIS MODERN DAY FOLLOWERS
