PUTTING TEMPTATION BEHIND US

(Living the Christian LIFE)

 

EVERYONE of us=are brought

To people and things=that

Are NO GOOD for us=particularly

When we are YOUNG

 

But we are CALLED to=LIVE

The Christian life=we are called to

PUT TEMPTATION BEHIND US

PUTTING TEMPTATION BEHIND US!

 

“BLESSED be the Lord=my rock=

Who trains my hands for battle=my

Fingers for war”                                                                                                                                   Psalm 144:1

 

We are called to=ALIGN OURSELVES

With Jesus=we are called to

LIVE THE CHRISTIAN LIFE=and

PUT TEMPTATION BEHIND US

 

One man=who did this almost BETTER

Than anyone else=was the great 4^th century Saint

Saint Anthony of Egypt

 

He was=the DESERT FATHER=and at times

LIVED on bread and water=and he spent

LONG long hours in prayer=he DETACHED himself

From the COMFORTS of the world=and

GAINED GREAT WISDOM

 

But we don’t have to be a SAINT=or

A monk or hermit=like Saint Anthony

To learn how=to

PUT TEMPTATION BEHIND US

 

It is a BATTLE=that is for sure

PUTTING=the temptations of the world

BEHIND US=things like lust=things like

LOVE OF MONEY=things like

 

Love of pornography=drugs=and alcohol

PUTTING TEMPTATION BEHIND US=LIVING

The Christian life

 

“And lead us=NOT INTO TEMPTATION

But deliver us=from the evil one”                                                                                                    Matthew 6:13

 

“Watch and pray=so that you

Will not fall=INTO TEMPTATION=the spirit

Is willing=but the flesh=is weak”                                                                                             Matthew 26:41

 

“NO TEMPTATION=has overtaken you=except

What is common to mankind

 

And God is faithful=he will not

LET YOU BE TEMPTED=beyond what

You can bear

 

But when you ARE TEMPTED=he will

Also provide a way out=so

That you can endure it”                                                                                                                 1 Corinthians 10:13

 

Fortunately for us=we have

God the Holy Father=and Jesus Christ

Who set the example for us=so

We can endure=THE TEMPTATIONS we face

 

And we have the BIBLE=and the EXAMPLES

Of the apostles and the Saints=to show us

How it is done=ALL we have to do

 

Is ALIGN ourselves with Jesus

PUTTING THE TEMPTATIONS of this world

Behind us=by FOLLOWING the way of

Our Lord Jesus Christ

 

Follow God=Follow Jesus=follow

The examples of the  Saints=like

Saint Anthony of Egypt=who all

Did NOT SUCCUMB to the temptations

Of this world

 

We can do it too=ALIGN yourself with Jesus

And=LIVE the Christian Life=by

PUTTING TEMPTATION BEHIND YOU!

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our ever PURE and chaste=Holy Father God!
