A GLORIOUS MYSTERY

A GLORIOUS MYSTERY There are basically two sides To the mystery Of THE ASCENSION The first side Is the glorious RETURN To the RISEN Jesus Back to his place In heaven “As he BLESSED them He parted from them And was taken up to heaven” Luke 24:51 Jesus became like us In EVERY way-but sin He was PERFECT-yet our sins Destroyed him- And he was blameless THE ASCENSION= Is after Jesus endures rejection Terrible physical suffering and death He returns to the FATHER But he did so NOT to abandon us But to give us HOPE As we are DESTINED To share in his GLORY “Lord-our Lord- How MAJESTIC is your name In all the earth You have set your glory In the heavens” Psalm 8:1 “At that time People will see The SON OF MAN Coming in clouds With great power and glory” Mark 13:26 “So whether you eat or drink Or WHATEVER you do Do it all- For the GLORY OF GOD” 1 Corinthians 10:31 Jesus did it all For the the GLORY of God- HIS FATHER And we should do We should offer up ALL the good we do For simply The glory of God and Christ The second side Of this GREAT mystery Of the Ascension IS THE MISSION Jesus gives this MISSION To the apostles- And to us To MAKE KNOWN The person of Jesus And his WONDERFUL TEACHINGS To every person- To all the nations- And to the ENTIRE world This is KNOWN as THE GREAT COMMISSION And it falls to each And every one of us “Therefore Go and make disciples Of all nations BAPTIZING them In the name of the Father- And of the SON- And of the HOLY SPIRIT And teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you And surely I am with ALWAYS To the every end of the AGE” Matthew 28:19-20 And surely-he is WITH US- ALWAYS-just as his HOLY SPIRIT Is with us UNTIL the end of time WHAT A GLORIOUS MYSTERY- In Jesus' name Robert P.
