CALLED TO PERSEVERE My late Uncle John Used to have GREAT ADMIRATION For my niece-Allison You see-when Allison was a little girl- She did not read music Yet she taught herself How to play songs On the piano She did it by PERSEVERANCE My Uncle John Admired this quality in her For he had that same great quality Of perseverance Without a formal education He had great aptitude in electronics- He could build a computer From scratch He said it Came from perseverance I think that that is true Of all of us Who ACCOMPLISH something In life WE have great perseverance I know that is What has KEPT me going all these years BATTLING this illness That and my GREAT BELIEF in God My great of BELIEF in Jesus MY great belief in THE POWER OF LOVE CALLED TO PERSEVERE How else could Jesus Have ENDURED the cross “Indeed we are all BLESSED- Those who have persevered” James 5:11 Our fellow apostle-James- COMMENDS the prophets and Job For their PERSEVERING in FAITH Despite the many hardships They endured Called to PERSEVERE=JUST like Jesus Just like the apostles and disciples Of yesteryear “LOVE does not delight in evil But rejoices With the truth It always protects Always trusts ALWAYS perseveres” 1 Corinthians 13:7 Called to persevere Called to turn our failures Into successes Called to PERSEVERE IN LOVE “LOVE NEVER FAILS ….....” 1 Corinthians 13:8 For Christians- Or us the modern day Apostles and disciples in Christ Perseverance means MORE than Stubbornly remaining the same It means PERSEVERING in LOVE It means battling on It means continuing to move forward Despite our chronic health problems Despite our financial setbacks Despite our relationship concerns Called to persevere Continually to love Continually called to TRANSFORM ourselves- Despite our problems We win be perseverance We win BY LOVING We win by LETTING GOD AND LOVE Transform us into winners “Do NOT conform To the pattern of this world But be TRANSFORMED By the RENEWING of your mind” Romans 12:2 Dear Lord-HELP us to become A more LOVING PERSON-just like you- By learning to persevere For together-just by persevering We can- CHANGE THE WORLD Robert P.
