ACCEPTING THE TRUTH

ACCEPTING THE TRUTH The truth can be TOUGH to deal with And the truth is NONE of us are perfect Not you-not me Not any of us We don't want to admit it- But no matter how GOOD of people That we are- We still create problems For others- Even if it is totally inadvertent “The way of TRUTH I have chosen I have set your ordinances Before me” Psalm 119:30 We can HURT others In a variety of ways NO MATTER how hard We try not to- Because we are NOT PERFECT Even if it is just from consumption And pollution But there is Also GOOD NEWS The good news that God is all good- ALL KIND-and all MERCIFUL God is perfect He is all OBJECTIVE TRUTH “The one Whose walk is blameless Who does What is righteous Who SPEAKS the truth From their heart” Psalm 15:2 “An HONEST witness Tells the truth But a false witness-tells lies” Proverbs 22:17 “For the law Was given through Moses Grace and truth Came through Jesus Christ No one Has ever seen God But the one And only SON Who is himself God And is in closest relationship With the Father Has made him known” John1:17-18 ACCEPT THE TRUTH The truth is God And the truth is seen In the person of Jesus Nowhere else It is true That none of us are perfect But through the GRACE Of God We can CHANGE To be better people Than we ever have been before FORTUNATELY for us-our God- Is nothing if not MERCIFUL And transforms us and creates us Into people who can SHARE GOD'S MERCY With a hurting world ACCEPT THE TRUTH We CAN make a difference “The Lord is compassionate And gracious SLOW to anger ABOUNDING in love” Psalm 103:8 Dear lord= We know that you are ALL truth We know= That you are all MERCY Help us to ACCEPT THE TRUTH That we are not perfect- And still TRY to live like you In Jesus' name Robert P.
