"WOMAN-WHY ARE YOU WEEPING?"

“WOMAN-WHY ARE YOU WEEPING?” Today we CELEBRATE the feast Of Saint Mary Magdalene The BEST FRIEND That Jesus ever had-Also CONSIDERED to be- The APOSTLE to the apostles She KNEW Jesus-better than anyone And LOVED him and accepted him As her TEACER “Jesus said to her, 'Woman-why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?'” John 20:15 Mary loved Jesus- She gave him her heart-in life- And she gave him her heart- In death How awful she must have felt WHEN she thought Jesus Was dead And the JOY and confusion She must have felt When she began to see That Jesus was ALIVE-and may- Have RESURRECTED Just as he said “Thinking he was the gardener- She said- 'Sir-if you have carried him away Tell me WHERE you have put him And I will get him'” John 20:15 “Jesus said to her-'Mary'- “She turned to him and cried out In Aramaic-'Rabboni'- (which means “TEACHER”) John 20:16 Mary's encounter with Jesus SPEAKS to all of us Who have felt the PAIN Of human loss And the HOPE that we feel When we REALIZE that They are going to spend ETERNITY With God and the RISEN LORD Oh-how we CAN empathize with her Many of us-when we lose someone- Are FORTUNATE to have the SUPPORT Of family and friends Still there are others of us Who have to SUFFER our pain And our anguish all alone But in our time of grief- We all look for the FAITH- HOPE-and JOY that Mary found She found it in Jesus- In the LIVING GOD We too can FIND IT- In God-and the Risen Lord OUR FAITH leads us to them The PRESENCE of God- And the presence of others TEACH US that the human heart Can NEVER die It LIVES for all of eternity “Your word-Lord-is eternal It stands firm in the heavens” Psalm 119:89 “Just as Moses Lifted up the snake In the wilderness So the SON OF MAN Must be lifted up That everyone who BELIEVES MAY have eternal life in him” John 3:14-15 “For God-so LOVED the world That he gave His one and only SON That whoever believes in him- Shall NOT perish But have ETERNAL LIFE” John 3:16 I too have a friend- Just like Jesus-had Mary Who ALWAYS takes the time To read my poetry Hearts that are UNITED in life Can NEVER be broken Even in death The LIVES of Jesus and Mary Is PROOF that their relationship Goes on forever For in our tears- We FIND our joy- The JOY OF ETERNAL LIFE Robert P.
