KNOWING SORROW

KNOWING SORROW

Jesus-Mary-and Joseph

Was a FAMILY

That knew SORROW

In fact=at the PRESENTATION

Simeon PREDICTED that a

Sword would PIERCE

Mary's heart

“Then Simeon blessed them

And said to Mary=his mother=

'This child is destined

To cause the falling

And rising of many

In Israel

And to be a sign

That will be spoken against

So that the thoughts

Of many hearts

Will be revealed

And a SWORD will

PIERCE your own soul too'” Luke 2:34-35

There could be no more

AGONIZING PIERCING for Mary

Than to watch

Her own son be crucified

Mary knows the SORROW

Of watching her own son die=

That is WHY I prayed

The way I did

When I was 22

I could NOT BEAR the thought

Of seeing my own mother

See me die

Jesus-Mary-and Joseph KNOW

The price that

All families pay=

The agonizing UPS AND DOWNS

And ALL of our families

KNOW SORROW TOO

“They will be like

A well-watered garden

And they will SORROW

No more” Jeremiah 31:12

“I have great SORROW

And unceasing anguish

In my heart” Romans 9:2

“GODLY SORROW brings repentance

That leads to salvation

And leaves no regret=

But worldly sorrow

Brings death” 2 Corinthians 7:10

As Mary was watching her

Son die=I can't

Imagine her sorrow=

She stood below=Pouring out

Her LOVE to him

And he looked down and saw her

In that wrenching moment=

He-Jesus

ENTRUSTED her to John's care=

KNOWING SORROW=Jesus did

Mary did=we all know

SOME TYPE of sorrow

“Standing by the cross of Jesus-

Was his mother.......

WHEN Jesus saw his mother

And the disciple there

Whom he loved-

He said to his mother

'Woman-behold your son'

Then he said

To the disciple

'Behold your mother'” John 19:25-27

DEAR BELOVED MARY=as we

Undergo our sorrow

In this life

HELP US to know your

SON'S LOVE=just as you did

Turn our piercing sorrow

INTO JOY=

In Jesus' name=and in the ever name of our ever LOVING MOTHER Mary=

And God the HOLY FATHER
