SO EASY TO CRITICIZE

 

SO EASY TO CRITICIZE

Today we READ about Jesus

And his FORGIVENESS

Of the adulterous woman

“The teachers of the law

And the Pharisees=

Brought in a woman

Caught in ADULTERY

They made her stand

Before the group

And said to Jesus

'Teacher=this woman

Was caught in an act

Of adultery-

In the Law=Moses commanded us

To stone such women=

Now what do you say?'”                                                                                        John 8:3-5

It is easy=TO CRITICIZE OTHERS

It is so EASY

To look at

Others' faults=and point them out

And out in PUBLIC=

So easy to criticize

But Jesus was having

NONE OF IT=he was

NOT caught in the trap

Jesus began to WRITE

The sins of others

On the ground too=and said

“Let any one of you

Who is WITHOUT SIN=

Be the first

To throw a stone at her”                                                                                            John 8:7

Jesus knows we ALL

Have sins=Jesus knows

None of us=are 

To sit IN JUDGMENT of another human being

So EASY to criticize

So easy to JUDGE

“We want to avoid

Any CRITICISM=of the way

We administer=this liberal gift”                                                                            2 Corinthians 8:20

It is SO EASY to

See the faults=of another

But it is NOT so easy

To always see

Our own faults

WHEN we are confronted

With our own faults=

It is=NOT quite as easy

To criticize

That was the case

With the Pharisees today=

They all ran away

WHEN they were confronted

With their own sins

Again Jesus wrote on the ground

“At this-

Those who heard began

To go away=ONE at a time

The older ones first=

UNTIL only Jesus was left

With the woman-

Still standing there”                                                                                                     John 8:9

It is SO EASY

To criticize others=

It is so easy

To see another's faults

But Jesus was NOT like this=

He took on the faults

Of THE WORLD=

And he FORGAVE this woman

“WOMAN where are they?

Has NO ONE condemned you?”

“No one sir”=she said

“Then NEITHER DO I

Condemn you”=Jesus declared

“Go now=and leave your life of sin”                                                                      John 8:10-11

In Jesus' name=and in the name=of our ALWAYS loving and FORGIVING FATHER!
