LOVE AND PEACE= LOOKING FOR ACCEPTANCE Are you looking for LOVE and peace In today's world Are you looking For acceptance In today's world I think we all are EVEN JESUS WAS “As Jesus drew near Jerusalem He saw the city And wept over it saying, '….....For the days Are coming upon you When your enemies Will raise a palisade against you That will encircle you And hem you in On ALL SIDES'” Luke 19:41-43 Today's gospel TELLS of Jesus' sorrow and tears Over the failure of Jerusalem To accept him Jesus cried a 1,000 tears I have cried A thousand tears too Over my desire To be ACCEPTED in this world I'll bet you have too REJECTION is a terrible thing It makes you wonder What someone else has In this world-that you don't have Jesus EXPERIENCED the ultimate rejection He was even put to death Because of it But Jesus did NOT reject us God and Jesus never will “For the Lord Will not reject his people He will never forsake His inheritance” Psalm 94:14 “The stone The builders rejected Has become the CORNERSTONE” Psalm118:22 & Matthew 21:42 The one thing These SCRIPTURE readings remind us Is that on any level From families-to local organizations- And from nations-to the whole world Is that there is NO PEACE In this world EXCEPT in those hearts OPEN to God's love “PEACE I leave with you My peace I give you I do not give to you As the world gives Do NOT let your hearts Be troubled And do not be afraid” John 14:27 God and Jesus Give us the peace We cannot find in this world This world Does reject us BUT GOD NEVER DOES But God's love BRINGS PEACE So if you are looking For ACCEPTANCE in this world TURN TO God “ACCEPT one another-then- Just as Christ accepted you In order To bring PRAISE to God” Romans 15:7 “The Lord Has heard my cry for mercy The Lord ACCEPTS my prayer” Psalm 6:9 So LOOK to the Lord For acceptance For love and peace-and- You will find it there NOT SO-in this world DEAR LORD=WE PRAY Help all the world To be open To YOUR FATHER'S LOVE AND PEACE Robert P.
