A GOD-GIVEN RESPONSIBILITY


Today we read about
The famous brothers=the
Famous murder=of Cain
KILLING his brother-Abel


AFTER Cain takes his brother
Out into the field=
And kills him


God asks Cain about Abel=
“Then the Lord asked Cain=
'WHERE is your BROTHER-Abel?'” Genesis 4:9


And we have Cain's
FAMOUS RESPONSE
“'I don't know,' he said-
'Am I my BROTHER'S KEEPER?'” Genesis 4:9


As CHRISTIANS-we know
That the ANSWER to this question
Is an UNQUALIFIED YES


As Christians-we KNOW-
We have=A GOD-GIVEN RESPONSIBILITY
To take care of our family-
To take care of our FRIENDS-
And to take CARE
Of anyone in need=
IF we can


We have a God-given
RESPONSIBILITY to care for
The WELFARE of others


This goes BEYOND family and friends=
To take care of
ANYONE in need


It is a God-given
Responsibility to take care of
The WELFARE OF OTHERS


It is part of our
God-given DUTY=and part
Of the second commandment=
“LOVE your neighbor
As ourselves”


“Now all has been heard
Here is the conclusion
Of the matter


Fear God
And keep his commandments
For this is the DUTY
Of all mankind” Ecclesiastes 12:13


“Paul looked straight at the Sanhedrin
And said=
'My brothers=I have fulfilled


My DUTY to God
In all good conscience
To this day'” Acts 23:1


“Brothers and sisters=
Each person-
As RESPONSIBLE to God


Should remain
In the situation
They were in
WHEN God called them” 1 Corinthians 7:24


IF we run away
From our responsibility
We may END UP
Selfish or self-centered


But when we EMBRACE
Our Christian responsibility=
Our GOD-GIVEN RESPONSIBILITY


We end up with LOVING FAMILIES-
With safe neighborhoods=
Life-sustaining government agencies
And a great COMMUNITY
With good schools-CHURCHES-hospitals
And CARING CENTERS


God's love=CHRISTIAN LOVE
Should be ALL-INCLUSIVE=
Who can we HELP TODAY?


“A new command-
I give you
LOVE ONE ANOTHER


As I have loved you
So you
MUST love one another


By this EVERYONE
Will know
That you are my disciples=
If you=LOVE ONE ANOTHER” John 13:34-35


Love one another
TAKE CARE of
One another
HELP one another


It is A
GOD-GIVEN RESPONSIBILITY
