FINDING FORGIVENESS IN FAMILIES


The FAMILY
Is the BACKBONE
Of the world
And the backbone
OF AMERICA


Fortunately I come
From a GREAT FAMILY=
I had great parents
And have great sisters


But that is NOT
Always the case
Some families
Have some MAJOR problems-
Where members hold GRUDGES
And DON'T FORGIVE


“It was really
For the sake
Of SAVING LIVES


That GOD sent me here
AHEAD of you” Genesis 45:5


TODAY we have
One of the most FAMILIAR
Stories=in all of Scripture


The story of JOSEPH
And the story is
Both=incredulous
And HEARTWARMING


It is incredulous
BECAUSE Joseph's BROTHERS
Sell him into slavery


And it is heartwarming
Because Joseph FINDS FAVOR
In the Pharaoh's house=
During a time of famine
In Israel


WHEN the brothers
Go for food in EGYPT-
Joseph forgives them
And gives them food


FORGIVENESS is in
The HEART of families=
In the heart of
ALL good human relationships


FINDING FORGIVENESS
IN FAMILIES


“She gets up
WHILE it is
Still night


She provides food
For her FAMILY


And portions for her
Female servants” Psalm 31:15


“Do you think
I came to bring peace
On earth?


No I tell you
But division


From now on
There will be five
In one FAMILY-divided
Against each other


Three against two
And two against three” Luke 12:51-52


Now a family can't SURVIVE
Much less thrive=unless
It is living in UNITY


Like my own family
Like Joseph's FAMILY


Someone must ALWAYS FORGIVE=
And above all else
There MUST BE LOVE!


This is the story
Of lemons=where
Lemonade is made


All will be WELL
In the hand of God
God will PROVIDE
THROUGH the human family


“He must manage
His own FAMILY well
And see that
His children obey him


And he must do it
In a manner
WORTHY of full respect” 1 Timothy 3:4


Our FAMILIES THRIVE
When we are able
To find FORGIVENESS
In each other


That is what happened
IN JOSEPH'S FAMILY-
That is what happens
In my own family


And that is what happens
In the FAMILY OF GOD
