BRINGING GOD ALIVE!

BRINGING GOD ALIVE!

ONE of the great MISSIONS

We have as MODERN

Day disciples

Is to bring GOD'S WORDS ALIVE=

To bring JESUS' words alive=

Just like he is

STILL with us here today

The two men on

The ROAD to Emmaus

DEMONSTRATE that more

Than ever=

Their hearts were ON FIRE

When they were with Jesus

And our hearts should

Be on fire too

BRINGING GOD ALIVE!

“Were not our HEARTS BURNING

Within us=

When he spoke to us

On the way

And opened

The Scriptures to us?” Luke 24:32

One of the great GIFTS

Of God to the world

is the gift of SACRED SCRIPTURE

BOTH the Old Testament

And the New Testament

It is our JOB

As modern day disciples

Of Jesus=

To bring that WORD ALIVE!

It is EASY

To take things for GRANTED=

It is easy to

Take these words=

And let them become COMMON PLACE

In our hearts

What is NOT so easy-

Is to BRING GOD'S WORD ALIVE

In today's world

“The unfolding of YOUR WORDS

Gives light=

It gives understanding

To the simple” Psalm 119:130

“Heaven and earth=will pass away

BUT MY WORDS

Will never pass away” Matthew 24:35

SCRIPTURE is much more

Than just words

It is MORE than history-

More than wisdom-

More than poetry

It is an ENCOUNTER

With God=and encounter

With Our Lord and Savior

Jesus Christ

It is God's words

COMING ALIVE within us=

BURNING within us

Just like the encounter

With Jesus=and the two men

On the road to EMMAUS

BRINGING GOD ALIVE!

Within us

“In the same way

Count yourselves=dead to sin

But ALIVE to God-in Christ Jesus” Romans 6:11

“For as in Adam-

All die=

So in Christ

All will be MADE ALIVE” 1 Corinthians 15:22

Let the HOLY SPIRIT

Work in you=

BRING the ancient stories

Of God=and of Jesus

ALIVE in your life

Make them known to everyone

BRINGING GOD ALIVE!

Dear Lord=OPEN

The Word of God within us

In Jesus' name=and in the name=of our EVER LIVING LOVING=God the Holy Father
