GOOD FRIDAY-FROM DEATH INTO LIFE
WHY do they
Call Good Friday-GOOD
WHEN it signifies
The death of
OUR LORD AND SAVIOR Jesus Christ
THE DEATH
Of our God
Because it is
WHAT comes next
That matters
THE TRIUMPH of life over death
BECAUSE we know
Anything in and of God
Cannot die
God-TRUE LOVE-God's WORD-
Jesus-THE Son Of God
Jesus is the Word
Made flesh
The living-breathing SON OF GOD
Even death
Could not contain him
The ULTIMATE TRIUMPH
Of eternal life
And if we
Truly BELIEVE in him
We can live forever
IN GOD
BUT on that Friday
Men call good
There was NOTHING GOOD
There was agony
There was ridicule
There was
BRUTAL torture and whipping
And there was a crown of thorns
For our God
For our innocent lamb
And FINALLY
There was a crucifixion
Of an INNOCENT man
NOTHING GOOD
About this good Friday
EXCEPT THE MAN HIMSELF
Dying for our sins
Dying for our humanity
A man SO INNOCENT
That the army officer
Standing by the CROSS said:
“This man really was
The Son of God” Mark 15:38
As Jesus himself said:
“My God-My God
Why did you abandon me” Mark 15:34
So there
Was nothing GOOD about this Friday
Except the man himself
This man was good
THE MAN WAS PERFECT
And was to bring
The HOPE of ETERNAL LIFE
To ALL who came after
For all who BELIEVES in him
Jesus said to her:
“I am the Resurrection and the LIFE
He who believes in me
Even though he dies-WILL LIVE
And WHOEVER LIVES in me
WILL NEVER DIE” John 11:25-26
Lazarus lived
Jesus LIVED
YOU AND I will live-IF we believe
Because of this GOD/man
GOOD FRIDAY INDEED!
