GOD IS=CLOSE TO US!

 

GOD IS=CLOSE TO US!

 

Sometimes=our lives

And our DAILY happenings

Are difficult to understand

 

We face DOUBT=and

Disagreements=but our Father

Keeps us going=

It is easy=to be BROKENHEARTED

 

But we can FIND

Our faith again

In our Father=as we go on

 

“The Lord is CLOSE

To the brokenhearted”                                                                                                   Psalm 34:19

 

THIS is the ONE thing

That we can

Hang on to=WHEN

All else fails

Our Lord=Our Savior

IS CLOSE to the brokenhearted

 

When we COME CLOSE

To someone

With a broken heart=

We come=CLOSE TO CHRIST

For surely=our God

Is right there with them

 

Just as surely

As the night=is

FILLED WITH STARS

 

Our Lord=is at WORK

In the broken hearted=

Even if

It is OUR OWN broken heart

 

“He heals the BROKENHEARTED-

And binds up-

Their wounds”                                                                                                                 Psalm 147:3

 

“He has sent me

To bind up

THE BROKENHEARTED

 

To proclaim freedom

For the captives=

And release from darkness

The Lord’s TENDER CLOSENESS

To the broken hearted

Is seen in

Christ’s own life

 

He SACRIFICED his body

On the cross=for all of us

And he gives himself=to us

ALL over again

Each time he sees us

With a broken heart

 

God is CLOSE TO US

As we face our own crosses

As our hearts break

With our crosses

HIS HEART=breaks with us

 

“Whoever does not take up

THEIR CROSS

And follow me=is NOT

He made=a public spectacle

Of them

In this world=

There are

MANY MESSENGERS of God

In this world

 

Their roles

ARE difficult and challenging

But simply put

Their roles are

 

To be SHINING LIGHTS

TO BURN

For the Word of God

THOSE BURNING

AND SHINING LIGHTS!

 

“He was a

BURNING AND SHINING LAMP

 

And for a while

You were content

To rejoice=in the light”                                                                                                   John 5:35

 

That is what/who

John the Baptist was

A BURNING and SHINING LIGHT

For Jesus

 

That is WHO

Our SAINTS are too

Both canonized Saints

And the saints

 

We interact with-

IN our daily lives

 

SHINING the light of God

For us

BURNING their lamps

Being MESENGERS of God

 

“Many Lord=are asking=

‘Who will

Bring us prosperity?’

 

Let the LIGHT

Of your face=SHINE ON US”                                                                                       Psalm 4:6

 

“Arise=SHINE

For your LIGHT=has come

 

And the glory=of the Lord

These MESSENGERS of God=

May they inspire=clarify=encourage

To be SHINING MESSENGERS

Sometimes our fragile spirits

NEED the courage=and understanding

Of THOSE=MESSENGERS OF GOD!

I see people WALKING

Around town=I see people in

Others=SMILE!

REJOICE!  Rejoice in the Lord=

MODERN DAY CHRISTIANS

It is

ALL of our WORK

 

To do lots of SERVICE

For one another=and to

CONTINUOUSLY pray

For one another

 

LIVING LIVES

OF SERVICE=AND OF PRAYER

For one another

 

“A curse on anyone

Who is lax=in doing

THE LORD’S WORK!”                                                                                                       Jeremiah 48:10

 

“THEIR WORK

Will be shown

For what it is

 

Because the Day=will bring it

To light

 

It will be revealed with fire=and the fire

Will test the quality

Of EACH PERSON’S WORK”                                                                                    1 Corinthians 3:13

 

It is great-

To have a profession

To make a wonderful living

 

But as=MODERN DAY CHRISTIANS

We are called=to have

A WIDER VIEW of life

 

LIVING LIVES OF PRAYER

AND OF SERVICE

 

“The Lord

Has heard my cry=for mercy

The Lord=ACCEPTS MY PRAYER”                                                                                         Psalm 6:9

 

“……..these I will bring

To my holy mountain

And give them joy

In my house=OF PRAYER”                                                                                                            Isaiah 56:7

 

With PRAYER-

And times of quiet contemplation

 

We become AWARE

Of HOW God is

WORKING and moving in our lives

 

It then becomes OUR JOB

As MODERN DAY CHRISTIANS

To illuminate

The lives of others=

By LIVING LIVES

Of PRAYER AND OF SERVICE!

 

To FIND God

Deep within our hearts

Is a TREASURE=

A BLESSING FROM GOD

 

And to SHARE that TREASURE

With others=in our life

Is our WORK

GOALS AND COMPASSION

 

 

We ALL need goals

In life

GOALS that reflect vision

Goals that really matter

Goals that INCLUDE GOD

 

Of course

We need to have

Personal goals

But we have

To include God

In our personal goals

OR what is the point

 

At least

That is the way

That I feel

 

“So we made it

OUR GOAL to please him

Whether we are at home

In the body or away from it

 

For we must all appear

Before the judgment seat

Of Christ

That each one may receive

What is due him

For the things

Done while in the body

Whether good or bad”                                                            2 Corinthians 5:9-10

 

How are you doing

With your goals

 

Do you have

That significant other

Are you satisfied financially

Do you have many failings?

 

My goal

Is to live

IN HARMONY and love

To love GOD with my whole body, soul

Mind, and strength

And to love others as I love myself

 

Some goals

Can’t be measured in quantitative terms

ONLY IN LOVE

 

God is the ONLY ONE

That can satisfy these types of goals

And we can only reach that goal

If we come to the end of my life

And hear

 

“WELL DONE

Good and faithful servant

 

You have been faithful

With a few things

I will put you in charge

Of many things

Come and SHARE your master’s happiness”                                               Matthew 25:23

 

One goal

That we should all have

Is to FEEL COMPASSION

For those

Less fortunate than ourselves

 

We should have a feeling

For those

Who have physical, spiritual,

Or emotional hurts

 

To feel compassion

For someone

And do nothing to help

Is not only UNFOUNDED Biblically 

But is

NOT being much of a Christian

 

So I ask you

How are you doing

At achieving your goals

That you started out with

 

“Are you so foolish

After beginning with the spirit

Are you now trying to attain

Your goal by human effort”                                                                     Galatians 3:3

If you are loving God

Loving others

And living your life

With compassion

To BE a part

He KNOWS how difficult

That this life

CAN BE

The OFFICIAL=had been told

About Jesus’ healing power

He BELIEVED in Jesus

And was granted=A MIRACLE

How about us?

Do we believe?

Do we have FAITH that Jesus

CAN CREATE MIRACLES

In our lives?

He already has done it for me

How about do?

Do you BELIEVE

In the POWERS of God?  Of Jesus?

 

“God is exalted

IN HIS POWER=

Who is a teacher

“See the Sovereign Lord comes

A loved one=or when

Someone=takes their ANGER

Out on us

 

We need to embrace God then

We need to TURN TOWARDS GOD ALWAYS!

Keep looking for Jesus

Our God=TRUSTS us all

The same

Our God=our Jesus

Loves us=ALL THE SAME!

 

Whether we COME to him

In the last moments

Of our life=

Or whether

We DEDICATE our

WHOLE LIFE to him

Like the older son

Feels it WASN’T FAIR

For the Father=

To take the second son back

 

But LIFE is not fair

LOVE isn’t fair=our God

HE KNOWS ME

God knows me

He knows what I look like

At every stage of my life

He knows me INSIDE AND OUT

He knows me-things about myself

That I don't even know myself

I am a mystery-I am puzzling

I am difficult to understand

Yet he knows me-

MY GOD KNOWS ME-and he loves me

MARY=OUR EXAMPLE IN FAITH!

 

OUR EXAMPLE IN FAITH!

 

Today we celebrate-

Our BLESSED MOTHER Mary

Our dear EMAMPLE in FAITH

 

Today we celebrate

The Annunciation too

 

“The angel DEPARTED from her”                                                                                          Luke 1:38

 

Let us NOT overlook

This line=For Mary

Would FACE many challenges

 

What a challenge

It must have been

For her to MANAGE

 

In this life changing news

But God was with her=

For months=in the womb

When future trials came

MARY=OUR EXAMPLE=IN FAITH!

 

“I have set you

AN EXAMPLE-

That you should do

As I have done=for you”                                                                                                        John 13:15

 

“FOLLOW MY EXAMPLE-

As I follow

The EXAMPLE of Christ”                                                                                   1 Corinthians 11:1

 

“Don’t let anyone-

Look down on you

Because you are young

But SET AN EXAMPLE              

 

For the believers in speech

In conduct=in love=in faith

And in purity”                                                                                              1 Timothy 4:12

 

Yes=that is what

Mary did for us

ALL those years ago

 

Set an example for us

IN all of these things

MARY=OUR EXAMPLE IN FAITH!

 

Mary’s example

Helps us face

THE UNCERTAINTY=we face

In this life

 

Yes=Mary is an EXAMPLE

For us=in each MOMENT

Of faith-joy-and surrender

 

As God CONTINUES to lead us

As he led Mary

MARY=OUR EXAMPLE IN FAITH!

 

“In everything-

Set them an EXAMPLE

By doing=what is good”                                                                                                 Titus 2:7

 

“To this=you were called

Because Christ=suffered for you

 

Leaving you AN EXAMPLE

That you should follow

In his steps”                                                                                                                              1 Peter 2:21

 

We may NOT

Have an ANGEL=to lead us

The way that Mary did

 

But we can PRAY

To our guardian angels

And walk BY FAITH

And not by sight

 

Mary=IS OUR EXAMPLE

In our faith

And we accept her

And remain confident=GOD

Will continue to lead us

And NEVER let us down

 

Just as he led MARY

OUR EXAMLE IN OUR FAITH!

 

Upward and onward with Mary

And her Son=Jesus Christ

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our EVER PRESENT=Holy Father God!

SEEING GOD'S PRESENCE IN EVERYONE

There is an age old

QUESTION=in WHICH PERSON on this

Earth is God?

The answer is an

EASY ONE=EVERYONE=for

In EACH of us

There is A TRACE OF

The presence of GOD

SEE GOD'S PRESENCE

IN EVERYONE!

“Then I heard EVERY creature

In heaven=and on earth

And under

The earth

And in the sea=

EVERYTHING in the universe

Cry out”                                                                                                            Revelation 5:13

This is a DEEP QUESTION=

Do we see the

PRESENCE of God

Not only in the priest=

Not only in the LEAD service minister

But do I see a

TRACE OF GOD

In everyone 

In the CHURCH?

In every person

That I MEET=even

In the BEGGAR on the street?

“For what you have done

I will always

Praise you

In the PRESENCE

Of your faithful people........”                                                                              Psalm 52:9

“How can we-

Thank GOD enough for you

In return

For all the joy

We have

In the PRESENCE

Of our God

Because of you?”                                                                                                         1 Thessalonians 3:9

“This is how we know

That we belong to the truth

And how we set

Our hearts at rest

IN HIS PRESENCE”                                                                                                 1 John 3:19

It is EASY to see

God's presence

In our LOVED ONES

And in individuals

That are a lot

LIKE OURSELVES

But how about

SEEING God in

Those that are

DIFFERENT than us

Those that

Are different in age-

In ethnicity-in social standing-

Or different than us POLITICALLY

Seeing GOD'S PRESENCE=

In everyone

The word=REVELATION=means

Removing the veil=

BETWEEN the seen

And unseen

Dear Lord=we PRAY

Help us to see

GOD'S PRESENCE

In everyone today

In those alike=and

Those who are DIFFERENT

Than us

“The Lord is

In his holy temple-

The Lord is on

His heavenly throne

He observes

EVERYONE on earth-

His eyes examine them”                                                                                     Psalm 11:4

“By this EVERYONE

Will know that you

Are my disciples

If you=

LOVE one another”                                                                                                   John13:35

Yes=see GOD'S PRESENCE in EVERY 

PERSON and love them

And you will be doing

GOD'S WORK=and BE

A disciple of Jesus

In Jesus' name=and in the name=of the LORD GOD OUR FATHER
