SERVING GOD AND OTHERS
We all have
To SERVE SOMEBODY=
Or something in this life
Jesus tells us
We SHOLD SERVE GOD=and his
First two commandments
Tell us=we should SERVE GOD
AND OTHERS
“You shall worship the Lord=
Your God
And him alone=
SHALL YOU SERVE”
Luke 4:8
One thing for SURE
Life shall put us
ALL=to the test
We will be deserted
By other things
In this world
And PUT TO THE TEST=
Even Jesus was tempted
By Satan in the desert
But he did NOT SUCCUMB
“The crucible for silver
And the furnace=for gold
But the Lord=
TESTS THE HEART”
Proverbs 17:3
“On the contrary-
We speak as those
Approved by God
To be entrusted
With the gospel
We are not
Trying to=to PLEASE people
BUT GOD”
1 Thessalonians 2:4
So Jesus=passes his test
And goes on about
The path
Of PLEASING God=his Holy Father
We would all do well
To do the SAME=
Live lives PLEASING TO GOD-
And not our own
Selfish choices
“I would like you
To be free from concern
An unmarried man=is concerned
About the Lord’s affairs--------
How he can=PLEASE THE LORD”
1 Corinthians 7:32
“So we make it
Our goal=to PLEASE HIM
Whether we are at home
In the body=Or away from it”
2 Corinthians 5:9
Seeking to SERVE GOD
And others=seeking to
PLEASE the Lord
We are called=to CHOOSE GOD
ABOVE worldly things
We are called
To SERVE GOD AND OTHERS
Above ourselves
The CHOICES we make
At the BEGINNING
Of the LENTEN season
Can anchor us
IN the Lord
So WHEN we are
PUT TO THE TEST
May we all pass it
Like our Lord
And choose to
SERVE GOD AND OTHERS!=
Passing the test
Of our temptations=this Lent
Just like our Lord
In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our ALWAYS FAITHFUL=Holy
Father God!
