Take Heart
Jesus said
Take heart
For I have
Overcome the world
What we
Need to remember/understand
Is that Jesus
Was both God
And man
Before he resurrected
And proved himself
To be God
He faced
Every single situation
That we have to
He faced
The temptation
Of being attracted
To the opposite sex
Yet he remained
Chaste and faithful
And devoted to God
He loved women
And his very best friend
Was a woman
Named Mary Magdalene
He faced the temptation
Of selling out
For money and materialism
Yet he remained
Faithful to God
He never sold out
Though the Bible
Says nothing
About his health
It often talks
About him becoming tired and weary
And going off alone to pray
It was as if
Being alone with God
Renewed his inspiration
And allowed him
To continue on his journey
He faced
Rude—ignorant—selfish people
Everyday
The same as you and I do
In fact
His very own Apostles
Were some of these
He never gave in
In any situation
And because he didn’t
When events conspired
To take him down
He resurrected
“Take heart
For I have overcome the world”
