“The Purpose of Life”
Every day
In every newspaper
In this country
There are obituary notices
Psalm 90
Talks about
The brevity of life
And in the Bible
God promises 70 years
80 years
If you are strong
Knowing this
I ask myself
What is
The purpose of life
I believe
The answer is
The same today
As what we were taught
When we were children
To know, love
And to serve God
We have many people
In our lives
That we love
We have many possessions
That we love
All these people that we love
All these possessions
That we have
Are all gifts from God
I think
Sometimes we become so in love
With the gifts
That we forget the giver-----
GOD
Every day
God gives us a gift
Of 1,440 minutes
To use as we wish
Dear Lord today
We just want to say thank you
For our family and friends
Those we have had
And those who are still
With us today
And we want to say thank you
For this gift of today
Of all 1,440 minutes
May we use
A few of those minutes
TO KNOW—TO LOVE—AND SERVE YOU TODAY
