KEEP WAITING=FOR THE LORD

(Don’t Give Up!)

 

Today we have=the

FAMOUS PARABLE=in Matthew about

The ten virgins=who are

WAITING for the Lord

 

FIVE were wise=and PREPARED

For the Lord=with oil=for their lamps

And five did not

 

Five were UNPREPARED and missed out=

ON the wedding banquet

KEEP WAITING=FOR THE LORD

 

“……..but the WISE=brought flasks

Of oil=with their lamps=……..at midnight

There was a cry!=’Behold=the bridegroom!

Come out to meet him!’”                                                                                                           Matthew 25:4, 6

 

We live=in a VERY IMPATIENT WORLD

My friends=we don’t want

To WAIT a moment=for anything

 

But we have to=STAY PATIENT=

Stay wise=stay prepared

For WHEN the Lord comes back=and

HIS SECOND COMING!

 

“A person’s WISDOM=YIELDS PATIENCE=

It is=to one’s glory

To overlook an offense”                                                                                                   Proverbs 19:11

 

“…….being strengthened =with all power=

According to his glorious might=so

That you have=Great endurance and PATIENCE”                                                      Colossians 1:11

 

I would bet=the five virgins=that

Didn’t have their oil=wished that

They had been more patient=MORE WISE

When the bridegroom showed

 

And we will be too=IF

We give up the fight=OF WAITING

For Jesus==and God the Holy Father

IN the Second Coming

KEEP WAITING=FOR THE LORD

(Don’t Give Up!)

 

Be READY=to GREET the Lord

When he comes again=STAY WISE

Stay patient

KEEP WAITING=FOR THE LORD

 

“The fruit of the righteous=

Is a tree=of life=and the one

Dear Lord=We PRAY for the PATIENCE

And the WISDOM=to KEEP WAITING-

FOR THE LORD=and not give up

 

And that=when the LORD COMES AGAIN

That the CHURCH=and the whole world

Will be READY AND WAITING=for him

SAINT ANTHONY=SAINT OF MIRACLES!

 

December 7th

 

 

“Saint of Miracles”

 

 

St. Anthony is known as the Saint of Miracles.  He is also known

As the Restorer of Lost Things  ( both material and spiritual  ).

 

Saint Anthony died June 13^th,  1231.  He was buried on June 17^th.

Legend has it that on that day June 17^th, during his funeral procession,

Miracles began to occur. 

 

The blind saw, the deaf heard, the dumb spoke, and the lame walked

Again.  It was and still is the general belief that miracles can occur on

This day, if asked with a sincere heart through St. Anthony.

 

Whatever miracle you seek, or that you need, if it is in your best interest,

I join you in prayer today for that miracle, through God’s Saint of

Miracles, St. Anthony of Padua.

Of the Immaculate Conception.   And Saint Anthony had a tremendous love

for Our Lady.

 

 

BE READY=IN EVERY MOMENT!

Our God=Our Jesus=told us

To stay ready=for at some point

In time=God IS coming back

BE READY=IN EVERY MOMENT

 

“Therefore=KEEP WATCH=because=

You do not know=on

What day=Your Lord will come”                                                                                                 Matthew 24:42

 

When Jesus tells us=

To awake=TO KEEP READY

 

He is asking us=to be vigilant=

He is asking us=to get our lives

OFF OF automatic pilot

 

He is asking us

To always=BE READY FOR HIM=for

WHEN he comes again

BE READY=IN EVERY MOMENT=for

The Second Coming of our dear Lord

 

“…….that the mirth=of the wicked

Is brief=the joy of the godless

Lasts=but a MOMENT”                                                                                                     Job 20:5

 

“Who has ever heard=of such things?=

Like this=Can a country= be born

In a day

Or a nation brought forth=IN A MOMENT?”                                                                     Isaiah 66:8

 

“We did not give in=to them

So that=The truth of the gospel=

Might be preserved for you”                                                                                             Galatians 2:5

 

We should NOT be anxious=

AWAITING for the Lord’s SECOND COMING

It just means=we=should STAY IN PRAYER

More diligently

 

And use these prayers to REMAIN READY

For our Jesus

BE READY=IN EVERY MOMENT

For the Second Coming

 

Be ready=and WAIT for the Lord

Use prayer=as YOUR STIMULANT

As your coffee=in staying awake=for the Lord

BE READY=IN EVERY MOMENT=just

WAITING for the Lord

 

“For the Lord=is a God

Of justice=Blessed are all

WHO WAIT FOR HIM”                                                                                                              Isaiah 30:18

 

“On one occasion=while

He was eating with them=he

Gave them this command=

 

‘Do not leave Jerusalem=BUT WAIT

For the gift my Father promised=which

The TRUTH is=Jesus loves us

IN EVERY MOMENT=but he wants us

To pursue him=with love too=and

Have our HEARTS ready and awake for him

When he returns

BE READY=IN EVERY MOMENT!

We live=IN A WORLD

That focuses so much=on OUTER BEAUTY

 

Sometimes=it leaves=those of us

WHO ARE NOT=10’s

ON the outside looking in

 

But we NEVER=have to worry

About that=with our God=if

We are a GOOD PERSON=BUILDING

Our lives=on the love of God=and Christ

WHAT THE EYES SEE

 

“You are like=whitewashed tombs

Some of us=ARE FLAWED=

In fact=All of us are=but

I don’t care anymore

For I know God

 

Sees you and me=for

Who we are=ON THE INSIDE

Our hearts=WITH THE EYES=OF GOD

 

“He does not take=HIS EYES

Off the righteous=he enthrones them with kings

What we look like

About the condition=of our skin-just the

CONDITION of our hearts=it is OK

The Lord cares=about

The condition=OF OUR HEARTS

WITH THE EYES=OF GOD!

 

“So we=FIX OUR EYES

Not on what is seen==but

On what is unseen=since

 

What is seen is temporary=but what

SAINT FRANCIS XAVIER

 

 

 

 

 

 

SAINT FRANCIS XAVIER

 

 

 

 

 

I went to grade school at Saint Francis Xavier

In Pittsburgh

The church and school

Were right around the corner from our home

 

I have countless friends

From Saint Francis Xavier

And many of them

Are still active in my life today

 

While today

The church is called RISEN LORD

( it was combined with Saint Leo the Great )

 

 

It still begs the question

Who just was this Saint Francis Xavier

This man---who my church and school

Were named after

 

Francis Xavier was a Jesuit missionary

Who was a Basque Spaniard

Who lived from 1506 to 1551

 

He was educated

At the University of Paris

Where he met Saint Ignatius of Loyola

And both were ordained as priests 3 years later

 

The foreign missions

Has been an integral part

Of the Jesuit ideal and vocation

And in Francis Xavier---it was no different

 

In 1541

Francis sailed to Goa in the East Indies

At the invitation of the King of Portugal

And was backed by a Papal brief

Nominating him as Apostolic nuncio

In the East

 

The journey took 13 months

And his mission there was to evangelize

For the remaining 10 years of his life

 

And he did just that

By his example

And by his preaching and writing verses

On Christian truths

 

He went among the poor

As a poor man himself

Slept on the ground

And lived on only rice and water

 

He would return to his headquarters

From time-to-time in Goa

And made plans to go further East

 

Eventually

Despite his propensity towards seasickness

And difficulty in learning foreign languages

He did make it to Japan

 

His external appearance of poverty

Was unsuccessful in Japan

So he abandoned this tactic

And began to dress in fine robes

And present gifts to the rulers

As a representative of the King of Portugal

 

When he left Japan

There were 2000 Christians---and growing

But they were under fierce attack form the rulers there

 

Counted among them were Paul Miki and his companions

Who ALL died a martyr’s death in 1597

With many more to follow in the coming years

 

Having established

The roots of the Christian faith in Japan

Francis returned to Goa

Then decided to set out for China

To try to establish roots there

 

While on his way there

Francis fell ill and died

Practically alone on an island

 

He became a Saint in 1622

And in 1927---Saint Francis Xavier

Was declared the patron Saint of foreign missions

A lot of it=has been PASSED DOWN

But in the end it depends

ON OUR VERY SELVES!

 

We develop=our MESSAGES from God

By our faith experiences=by ALL

We come into contact with=and

OUR VERY SELVES!

To SHARE with you=NOT only the Gospel of God=but

OUR VERY SELVES=as well……..”                                                                                               1 Thessalonians 2:8

 

I know the GOOD Saint Paul=KNEW

Exactly what he was=Talking about=ALL

Of the bible=has been=AN INFLUENCE

On me too

 

The OLD TESTAMENT=and Abraham=Moses=David

And so on =and on and on

 

And the New Testament=specifically Jesus=and

The apostles=Saint Paul=and the continuing Saints

Canonized saints=and uncanonized=all go

INTO making us who we are

 

They all make us=as well as

OUR PERSONAL EXPERIENCES=into

Making us who we are=

OUR VERY SELVES!

 

“Remember your leaders=who spoke

The WORD of God=to you=Consider

THE OUTCOME=of their way of life

And imitate their faith”                                                                                                             Hebrews 13:7

 

“For it is time=for judgment

To begin=with God’s household

And if

 

It begins with us=What will

Prayer of Faith

 

I asked for strength, that I might achieve

But I was made weak, that I might humbly obey.

 

I asked for health, that I might do great things

I was given infirmity, that I might know what is great.

 

I asked God for riches, that I might be happy

But I was given poverty, that I might be wise.

 

I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men

I was given weakness, that I might feel the need of God.

 

I asked God for all things, that I might enjoy life

But I was given life, that I might enjoy all things.

 

I got nothing that I asked for, but everything needed

After much prayer by his mother Monica whose feast day was yesterday.

 

Monica is a patron Saint for Christian Mothers and Augustine went on

To become very learned and a Doctor of the Church.  Theirs is a fascinating

Story—look in to it if you have the time.

Don’t you=JUST LOVE IT

When someone reaches out=to you

When someone=DOES SOMETHING KIND

We give them thanks=when

APPRECIATE THEM even more=for they are

MIRRORS of our ever KIND GOD=

MIRRORS OF JESUS’ LOVE

YES=we are to be=A REFLECTION

Of God and Jesus=in this world

We are to see Jesus=IN

Every other human being=in this world

 

We are to=DO GOOD for others

And SHOW them=Jesus’ love=kindness=and grace

BE A MIRROR=OF JESUS’ LOVE=in this world

 

“It is a sin=to despise one’s neighbor

But blessed=is the one=WHO IS KIND

To the needy”                                                                                                            Proverbs 14:21

 

“Love is patient=LOVE IS KIND

It does not envy=it does not boast=it

So treat those=who are KIND TO YOU

As special human beings=in this life

TREAT THOSE MIRRORS=Of Jesus’ love

To you=with kindness back

 

Thank God for their GRACE=thank

God for=their FAITHFULNESS=and

PRAY FOR THEM=and that you

CAN continue to be KIND too

 

Try to BE A MIRROR=Of Jesus’ love

To all others=in this world

THE WILL OF GOD

 

 

 

 

 

How do you know

If you are doing

The will of God

 

Something is troubling you

And you are suffering

And you know

Not what to do

 

It may be health related

Praying for a miracle

 

It may be financial

Maybe you just lost your job

 

It may be

A broken relationship

That no matter how hard that you try

You just can’t seem to restore it

 

How do you know

 

If your suffering is God’s will

I don’t know

Can’t answer that

 

But I can tell you this

 

In 1 Peter 4, it says,

“If you suffer

It should not be

As a murderer or thief

Or any other kind of criminal

Or even as a meddler

 

However

If you suffer as a Christian

Do NOT be ashamed

But PRAISE GOD

That you bear his name”                                     1 Peter 4:15 & 16

 

You may NOT even see it

How it helps anyone

But it just may be

For the GREATER GOOD

 

The will of God---

How do we know

---If we are abiding in it

 

One thing I do know

Is that

If you are trying

To live by the standards of this world

 

Sexual lust---materialism---violence

That that Is NOT

THE WILL OF GOD

 

“Do not conform

Any longer to the pattern

Of this world

But be transformed

By the renewing of the mind

 

Then you will be able

To test and approve

What GOD’S WILL IS-------------

HIS GOOD, PERFECT AND PLEASING WILL”                                 Romans 12:2

 

So HOW  do we know

Really know

That we are really doing

The will of God

 

I do know this

If it is the right choice

If it is the right decision

It---your life---your decisions

Will stand the test of tine

August 27^th

 

 

“The Highway to Nowhere”

 

 

I’m on a highway to nowhere

Sometimes don’t even know where I’m coming from

Sometimes I don’t even care

Because I know where I’m at

And that is all I need

To curb my inner fears

 

You got to run your own race

You’re not in competition with anyone

So set you own pace

There’s miles to go before it’s over

So just relax

And along the way have some fun

 

Back on the highway to nowhere

And all the cars go flying by

I’m tempted to try to pick up the pace

But then I let it slide

I’m just trying to stay within myself

I’m not reaching for the sky

 

The highway to nowhere

Where does it begin

Where does it end

How many of us know where we are going

How many of us know where we’ve been

 

I’ve been on the highway to nowhere

Too many times in my life

I’ll be on the highway to nowhere

Probably too many times again

But right now I’m in the pits

Charting a highway to somewhere

So I know where I’m at

And that’s all I need

To curb my inner fears

It is EASY to get LOST

In our problems=IF we do not know

Who Jesus is=in this world

 

IF we do not know=that

We are SONS AND DAUGHTERS

And CHILDREN of God=that Jesus

Is his SON=and that HE is our BROTHER

 

Jesus is=ALL THINGS=AT ALL TIMES

(To Me)=I found MY MEANING in life

Through Christ Jesus=and The Holy FATHER GOD

 

“They read=from the

Book of Law of God=making it clear

 

And GIVING THE MEANING=so that the people

Understood=what was being read”                                                                                   Nehemiah 8:8

To win the weak=I have become ALL THINGS

Just always REMEMBER=who Jesus is

He is=that SUPPORTIVE FRIEND=who tells us

OF GOD’S LOVE

When we are brokenhearted

 

He is our BIG BROTHER

With who=we share our SECRETS WITH

And he keeps them

 

He is OUR GUIDING FORCE=our road map

When we are lost=on the HIGHWAY OF LIFE

He is our GPS=he finds us=when we are LOST

 

“Truly my soul=FINDS REST in God

My salvation=comes from him”                                                                                    Psalm 62:1

 

“For everyone=who asks=receives

ALL THINGS=AT ALL TIMES=TO ME

Today is the birthday of Doctor Ray—the Pastor of Palm Beach Community

Church.  My FAITH and my cousin Lisa, brought me to his Church for a year,

And it was a blessing.

KEEP YOUR EYES=ON THE PRIZE

 

KEEP YOUR EYES=ON THE PRIZE

 

EVERYONE=in this world

Seems to get ATTACKED=for

ONE thing or another=INCLUDING OUR FAITH

That included Jesus=and me sometimes

 

But=NO MATTER=what is

Going on in our lives=we have

To KEEP our eyes=ON THE PRIZE

 

And the PRIZE IS=

OUR LIVING GOD OF LOVE

Keep your eyes=on this prize

 

So don’t BELIEVE in false teachers=or

Follow false prophets

 

“……..they PREACH=but

Do not practice”                                                                                                                   Matthew 23:3

 

“So you=MUST BE CAREFUL=

To do everything they tell you

 

But do not do=what they do=for

They do not practice=what they preach”                                                                     Matthew 23:3

 

Stay close to Jesus=

Stay close= to HIS HOLY FATHER

KEEP YOUR EYES=ON THE PRIZE!

The living=loving=GOD OF LOVE

 

“Do you not know=that

In a race=all the runners run

 

But only one=GETS THE PRIZE

Run in such a way=as to

GET THE PRIZE”                                                                                                                  1 Corinthians 9:24

 

“I press on=toward the goal

TO WIN THE PRIZE=for which

God has called me heavenward

In Christ Jesus”                                                                                                                Philippians 3:14

 

2,000 years ago=Jesus warned us

AGAINST FALSE TEACHERS=false prophets

Namely the Pharisees and scribes

 

And the great Saint Paul warned us

Against false teachers too=I am here to tell you

That there are MANY FALSE TEACHERS

In today’s world too

 

Stay close to Jesus=Stay

Close to God=KEEP YOUR EYES

ON THE PRIZE=Of God

Love=truth=kindness=and forgiveness

 

“Watch out=for FALSE PROPHETS=

They come to you=in sheep’s clothing

But inwardly=they are ferocious wolves”                                                                                      Matthew 7:15

 

“But what does it matter?=

The important thing is=in that every way

Whether from FALSE MOTIVES=or true

Christ is preached=and because of this

I rejoice”                                                                                                                                      Philippians 1:18

 

Jesus tells us=

You have=ONE RABBI==ONE FATHER=ONE MASTER

Period

 

KEEP YOUR EYES=ON THE PRIZE!

The LIVING=LOVING Holy Father God=and

HIS SON=Jesus Christ

“My Story/Your Story”

 

 

Are you a Christian?  Are you a practicing Christian?  Where are you in search to find God in

Your life?  To find God in others?

 

What is your story?  What is your testimony?  Are you seeing God in your life?  In others?

In your neighbor?  Even in your enemies?  Even in the bad things that happen to you in life?

 

Because my friend, God is everywhere.  He is in everyone.  He is in everything.

 

Because, my testimony, my friend, is that God is in you.  He is in me.  Every time you love

Someone, every time you forgive someone, every time you perform an act of kindness for

Someone, you are acting like God.

 

Whoever you are, I want you to know, that GOD LOVES YOU.
