A WALK TO REMEMBER
Would you take a walk with me
A walk to remember
As we begin Holy Week
I want to ask you
Would you take a walk with me
I promise you
It is
A walk to remember
Over there
Is where Jesus took
Peter, James, and John with him
To
He told them,
“Keep watch and pray
That you will not fall into temptation” Mark14:32
He asked them “to keep watch”
With him
As he was beginning to face
The hour of his death
They fell asleep--3 times
Their spirit was willing
But their flesh was weak
The Son of God
Became mocked-ridiculed-and brutally tortured
ALL ALONE
John 19:1
Let us ask the LORD OUR GOD
To ACCEPT sufferings
As his Son Jesus did
A God of humility
A walk to remember
The soldiers made him
A crown of thorns
They beat him—spat on him
And mockingly fell to their knees Mark
15:17-19
A walk through history
A walk to remember
A WALK TO REMEMBER
Jesus carried his cross
To “the place of the skull”—
Where he was crucified
John 19:18
Dear Lord—we pray
For the gift of patience
To ACCEPT the sufferings in our life
And ENDURE our trials
As you—in fact did
A walk to remember
At 3 o’clock
Jesus cried out,
“My God, my God why did you abandon me” Mark 15:34
With that—JESUS died
The curtain of the
Became torn from top to bottom
And a man—a centurion said,
“Surely—this man
Was really the Son of God”
Mark 15:39
A walk through time
A walk through history
A WALK TO REMEMBER
