BEACONS OF LIGHT AND HOPE

 

LIVING AS=BEACONS OF LIGHT

(And Hope)

 

Do you KNOW=what

A BEACON IS?=it is a LIGHTHOUSE

That sends out a SIGNAL=a guide

For ships=in the harbor?

 

That is what we are

TO BE=BEACONS OF LIGHT

And HOPE=for others=IN this very world

 

“Take courage=it is I=do

NOT BE AFRAID”                                                                                                                   Matthew 14:27

 

Jesus is OUR EXAMPLE=a perfect lighthouse

The LIVING GOD=of our world today

 

But there are MANY OTHER=

EXAMPLES OF LIGHT=in the bible

 

We have Elijah=who had his obedience

REWARDED=by encountering

THE PRESENCE OF GOD

 

We have Paul=who is

A BEACON OF WRITINGS to many

About=THE RISEN CHRIST

 

And we have Peter=THE ROCK

Of Christ=on who=he would=BUILD HIS CHURCH

And then we have=ALL

The other apostles and saints=CANONIZED

And plain ordinary SAINTS=who all

Made a difference=IN THIS WORLD

 

And then there is US=who are

TO LIVE AS BEACONS OF LIGHT too=

For others

 

“You Lord=are my lamp

The Lord turns my darkness=INTO LIGHT”                                                                           2 Samuel 22:29

 

“The Lord=IS MY LIGHT=

And my salvation--------whom

Shall I fear?”                                                                                                                                   Psalm 27:1

 

“The people=walking in darkness

Have seen=A GREAT LIGHT=on those

Living in the land of deep darkness=a LIGHT

Has dawned”                                                                                                                              Isaiah 9:2

 

But some of us today=beyond

The HOLY EXAMPLES=and known SAINTS

Are living lives=AS BEACNS TOO

 

We are=PROVIDING INSPIRATION

With our own lives=by keeping on

GOING ON=even WHEN the deck is stacked

AGAINST US

 

SOME of you=are lighthouses=and

BEACONS OF HOPE for me=to just

Keep on going

 

“In the same way=LET YOUR LIGHT

Shine before others=that they may see

Your good deeds=and glorify=Your Father in heaven”                                                                   Matthew 5:16

 

“But you are=a chosen people=a holy nation

God’s special possession

 

That you may declare=the praises

Of him=who called you out of darkness=

INTO HIS WONDERFUL LIGHT”                                                                                               1 Peter 2:9

 

And so my friends=my dear

Brothers and sisters=keep on BEING EXAMPLES

OF LIGHT=for the world

This world needs you=I need you

 

We NEED this LIGHT=in a world

DESPERATELY seeking=BEACONS OF LIGHT AND HOPE

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our EVER GLOWING=HOLY FATHER GOD!
