CARRYING OUR CROSSES!

(With the WORD OF GOD)

 

I don’t know about you=but

I feel like=I have been given

An inordinate AMOUNT OF CROSSES

 

Health crosses=Financial crosses=and

Relationship crosses=but Jesus KNOWS THIS

Knows us=all too well=it was the ACTUAL CROSS

That took his life

 

 

“Whoever wishes=to come after me=must deny himself

TAKE UP HIS CROSS=and follow me”                                                                                            Matthew 16:24

 

And so=WHENEVER I=want to stay down

From my crosses=I THINK OF JESUS

And get back up

 

After all=Jesus fell THREE TIMES

On the way to his death

We fall=INFINITELY more times

On our way=through this life

 

CARRYING OUR CROSSES!=with

The Word of God=the WORD of Jesus

To get back up=and SUSTAIN US

On our ways

 

“Whoever does not=take up

THEIR CROSS=and follow me=is

Not worthy of me”                                                                                                            Matthew 10:38

 

“For Christ=did not send me=

To baptize=but to preach=THE GOSPEL=

Not with wisdom=and eloquence

Less the CROSS of Christ=be emptied

Of its power”                                                                                                               1 Corinthians 1:17

 

“May I never boast=Except

IN THE CROSS=of

Our Lord Jesus Christ

 

Through which the world=

Has been=crucified to me=and I

To the world”                                                                                                                        Galatians 6:14

 

CARRYING OUR CROSSES!=with

The Word of God=the WORD

Of Jesus Christ

 

Today we CELEBRATE=Saint Clare

A TRUE FOLLOWER of Christ=and Saint

Francis of Assisi

 

She had faith=she prayed daily

But when she HEARD=Saint Francis

PREACH THE GOSPEL=Preach

The WORD of Christ=she became

COMPLETELY DEVOTED=to the Lord

 

She set aside=her family’s wealth

Her lovely clothes=and beautiful hair

SHE CARRIED her crosses=with

THE WORD OF GOD

 

And went on=to find

The Poor Clare Sisters

 

“For I am=NOT ASHAMED

OF THE GOSPEL=because it is

The power of God

 

That brings salvation=to everyone

Who believes”                                                                                                                   Romans 1:16

 

And so like Jesus=Saint Francis

Of Assisi=and Saint Clare=and all

The apostles and the Saints

 

We ask you=DEAR LORD=for the STRENGTH

To keep on=CARRYING OUR CROSSES!

And get back up=WHEN we fall down

Just like Jesus

 

Dear Lord=CONTINUE to inspire me today=

Us today=Through our crosses=and

THE WORD OF GOD!

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our EVER POWERFUL=Holy Father God!
