THE GREAT COMMISSION

 

 

Jesus gave us

The Great Commission

 

He said

Go and make disciples

 

Of all nations

 

The job

Is only part done

 

Are you

Going to accept Christ’s challenge

Are you

Going to

Help get it done

 

Are you going to do

All that you can

To get the job done

 

Even if it is

Only bringing one person to God

That furthers Jesus’ purpose

And help gets the job done

 

The great commission is upon us

Let us begin to make disciples

Of all people

Of all nations

Beginning today

I am=NOT the BEST grower of things=except for people=

NOT much of a planter or grower=but there is ONE THING

That always grows in me=and that is=MY FAITH=Keep

YOUR FAITH=FIRM AND STRONG=”Unless your FAITH IS FIRM=

You shall not BE FIRM”                                                                                                                          Isaiah 7:9

 

Our faith=IS A GIFT=from God=but we can GROW IT=HELP

It along a little better=BY PRAYING=by READING SCRIPTURE=

And attending our CHURCH  SERVICES=or MASS=KEEP

YOUR FAITH FIRM AND STRONG!

 

BE like a physical trainer=who trains=and develops muscle=

DEVELOP your SPIRITUAL MUSCLES=for God=KEEP your faith=

FIRM AND STRONG!

 

“Moses answered the people=’Do not be afraid=STAND FIRM and you

Will see the deliverance=the Lord will bring you today=The Egyptians=

You see today=You will never see again’”                                                                                     Exodus 14:13

 

“But the plans of the Lord=STAND FIRM FOREVER=the purposes

Of his heart=through all generations”                                                                                      Psalm 33:11

 

“Everyone will hate you=because of me=but the one=

WHO STANDS FIRM=to the end=will be saved”                                                                     Mark 13:13

 

“Be on your guard=STAND FIRM=in the faith=be courageous=

That is right=my friends=KEEP YOUR FAITH=FIRM AND STRONG=

Live=by THE LOVE=of the HOLY FATHER GOD=and Jesus Christ

 

Athletic muscles get soft=IF you quit using them=quit training=The

Same is true=OF OUR FAITH=we need to keep=DEVELOPING our faith

Our faith becomes SOFT AND WEAK=if we quit training=REACHING

For God=KEEPING OUR FAITH=FIRM AND STRONG!

 

“We=WHO ARE STRONG=Ought to bear with the failing=of

The weak=and not to please ourselves”                                                                                   Romans 15:1

 

“That is why=For Christ’s sake=I delight in weaknesses=in insults=

In hardships=In persecutions=in difficulties=For when I am weak=

THEN I AM STRONG”                                                                                                                         2 Corinthians 12:10

 

“Finally=BE STRONG=in the Lord=and in his mighty power=

To PUT ON=the full armor of God=You have to KEEP

Developing OUR GOD MUSCLES!

Dear Lord=we PRAY=that no matter what we are=or who

We are=in this world=YOU=We KEEP OUR FAITH=FIRM AND STRONG=

And that we keep getting=STRONGER in our love=for you=and

FOR ALL OTHERS!=our neighbors in this world

            July 29^th-is the feast day of Saint Martha

 

            “As Jesus and his disciples were on their way

             He came to a village where a woman named Martha

             Opened her home to him

            

             She had a sister called Mary-who sat at the Lord’s feed

             Listening to what he said

             But Martha was distracted by all the preparations

             That had to be made

 

             She came to him and asked,

             “Lord-don’t you care that my sister has left me

              To do the work by herself

              TELL HER to help me!”

 

              “MARTHA-MARTHA”-the Lord answered

               You are worried and upset about many things

               But only ONE THING is needed

 

               Mary has chosen what is BETTER

               And it will NOT be taken away from her”                            Luke 38-42

         

NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE

 

 

 

 

 

 

NO MATTER=WHO YOU ARE

(Or what you may have DONE=You are STILL CALLED)

 

You know WHAT=My dear friends=my dear brothers and

Sisters=NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE=No matter what you

MAY have done=in this life=THE LIVING GOD OF LOVE=can

CALL YOU=He may have some PLANS=for you and your life

Our God can CALL ANYBODY=at any TIME

 

“I was a SHEPHERD=and a dresser of sycamores=the Lord

TOOK ME=from following the flock……..”                                                                                     Amos 7:14-15

 

Amos is a SHEPHERD=and a fruit picker=NOT a prophet=or

SON of a prophet=and yet the Lord CALLED HIM=to prophesy

To the Israel people=The Lord called Amos=he may be CALLING YOU

NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE=or what you are doing=The Lord

MAY be calling you too

 

Saint Paul was CHOSEN=from a murderous background=as was

Moses=and Saint Paul=REMINDS US=and the Ephesians today

That they were=CHOSEN BY GOD=as you and I were chosen=to be

21st century APOSTLES=just like the ORIGINAL 12 were

 

NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE=GOD IS CALLING YOU=God is

Choosing you

 

“NOW CHOOSE LIFE=so that you and your children=may live=

And that you=May love the Lord your God=listen to his voice=and

Hold fast to him”                                                                                                                                   Deuteronomy 30:19

 

“But if serving the Lord=seems undesirable to you=then

CHOOSE FOR YOURSELVES=this day=whom you will serve

 

Whether the gods=Your ancestors served=beyond the Euphrates=

Or the gods of the Amorites=in whose land you are living=But as for me

And my household=we will SERVE THE LORD”                                                                            Joshua 24:15

 

Amos KNEW=the Lord had sent him=so did Moses=as did

Saint Paul=and the ORIGINAL APOSTLES=they all were

Just ORDINARY MEN=Called by Jesus=sent by Jesus=to

PREACH THE WORD OF GOD=they had a PURPOSE             

 

NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE=or what you have done=You can be

CALLED by the Lord=WE are all chosen=we are ALL CALLED

 

“The Lord is near=to all=Who CALL ON HIM=to all

Who call on him=in truth”                                                                                                                     Psalm 145:18

 

“Seek the Lord=while he=may be found=CALL ON HIM=

While he is near”                                                                                                                              Isaiah 55:6

 

And so my dear friends=NO MATTER what your past=looks like=

Your present and your future=LOOKS GOOD=for the LORD=

May be CALLING ON YOU=NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE!

 

It may seem HARD=to begin=but the Lord is CALLING You and me=

But he is for you=and he is CALLING YOU to SHARE his message=

Of life and love=of KINDNESS=of forgiveness=with the world=The HOLY

FATHER God and Jesus=have a MESSAGE to share=and they are calling

Me and you=NO MATTER WHO WE ARE!

We all know=that our HOLY FATHER GOD=and His Son Jesus=

LIGHT AND LOVE=but what about OUR DARK MOMENTS

Those moments=WHEN

 

EVERYTHING is going wrong=when we are EXPERIENCING=

What some SAINTS call=

“THE DARK NIGHT OF THE SOUL”

 

My friends=my DEAR BROTHERS and sisters=our God

Our Jesus=are with us=IN OUR DARK MOMENTS TOO=Carrying

Us=on their shoulders through those dark=DIFFICULT TIMES

“For to us=a child is born=to us=a son is given=and the

Government will be=ON HIS SHOULDERS”                                                                                  Isaiah 9:6

 

“And when=he finds it=He joyfully puts it=on

HIS SHOULDERS=and goes home=Then he calls his

 

His friends and neighbors together and says=’Rejoice

With me=I have found my lost sheep’”                                                                                           Luke 15:15

 

And in the same way=WHEN WE ARE LOST=in our

DARK MOMENTS of life=Jesus REJOICES when we make it=

THROUGH the darkness=of our life=Our Lord is with us=

IN THESE DARK MOMENTS TOO

 

“You Lord=are my lamp=the LORD=TURNS MY DARNESS

Into light”                                                                                                                                                    2 Samuel 22:29

 

“This is the verdict=Light has come into the world=but people

LOVED DARKNESS=instead of light=because their deeds were evil”                          Isaiah 3:19

Fellowship=can light HAVE WITH DARKNESS?”                                                                2 Corinthians 6:14

 

SPEND some time=with the LORD JESUS=and the Holy Father God=

IN YOUR DARK MOMENTS=then let THE SOURCE of his grace=

Their LIGHT=pick you up=and put you=ON the right path with

God and Jesus=for they are with us=IN OUR DARK MOMENTS TOO=It

Is called FAITH

 

WHEN we spend our TIME=with God=in our DARK MOMENTS=

His love=FILLS US UP=with the GRACE=of his HOLY SPIRIT!=

IN OUR DARK MOMENTS TOO!

 

“You are=the most excellent of men=and your lips have

Anointed=WITH GRACE=since God has blessed you forever”                                          Psalm 45:2

 

“For the law=was given through Moses=GRACE and truth came

Through Jesus Christ”                                                                                                                         John 1:17

 

“Now I commit you=to God=and to the word=OF HIS GRACE=which

Can build you up=and give you an inheritance=among all those who

Are sanctified”                                                                                                                                               Acts 20:31

 

And so MY FRIENDS=when you are feeling down=AND HOPELESS

And experiencing the DARKNESS=the dark moments=OF YOUR SOUL

 

HOLD ON=to the Holy Father God=Hold on to HIS SON=Jesus Christ=

And they will pull you=THROUGH THE DARKNESS=and into their GRACE

TRUE LIGHTS=OF THIS WORLD

LIFE has been a BATTLE for me=since I was 22 years old=

So many HEALTH CHALLENGES=I would not know=Where to

Begin=but we ALL have challenges in life=we all have

BATTLES in life= but

 

NEVER lose wight=of what a BLESSING=life is=Never lose sight

What a GIFT life is=and that GOD IS ALIVE=IN YOU AND ME=

IN all of us=GOD IS ALIVE=in you and me=JESUS IS ALIVE!

 

“After his suffering=He presented himself=to them and gave

Many convincing proofs=That HE WAS ALIVE”                                                                             Acts 1:3

 

“In the same way=Count yourself dead to sin=BUT ALIVE

In God and Christ Jesus”                                                                                                                   Romans 6:11

 

So my brothers and sisters=WHATEVER your battles may be=

Count yourself ALIVE=In Christ Jesus=Count your LIFE=as a BLESSING

And a gift=for

 

Despite our health battles=Despite our financial setbacks=NO MATTER

What our relationship are=NO MATTER our troubles=GOD IS ALIVE=In

You and me=and LIFE is a BLESSING=life is a gift

 

“BLESSED are those=who have regard=for the weak=the Lord

Delivers them=in times of trouble”                                                                                                          Psalm 41:1

 

“Where there is no revelation=people cast off restraint=

BUT BLESSED=is the one=who heeds wisdom’s instruction”                                           Proverbs 29:18

 

I have seen=MORE than my share of trouble=in this life=I

Am sure you have too=but LIFE is indeed a GIFT=for whatever

Happens=God is=Jesus is=STILL ALIVE IN YOU AND ME=Life is

A gift=never lose that perspective=NEVER LOSE SIGHT OF THAT!

 

“For the word of God=IS ALIVE and active=Sharper than any

Doubled edged sword=it penetrates even to dividing soul

 

 

And spirit=joints and marrow=it judges the thoughts and=

Attitudes of the heart”                                                                                                                               Hebrews 4:12

 

And so my friends=no matter HOW DIFFICULT life is=Keep

BATTLING for one more day of LIFE=Keep giving gratitude and

THANKS=for that one more day=FOR GOD IS ALIVE!=Jesus

Is alive=in YOU AND ME=JESUS IS ALIVE!

 

“Peter replied’=’Repent and be baptized=every one of you=in

The name of Jesus Christ=for the forgiveness of your sins=And

You will receive=THE GIFT=of the Holy Spirit’”                                                                                Acts 2:38

 

“THANKS be to God=for this=INDESCRIBABLE GIFT”                                                  2 Corinthians 9:15

To God and Jesus=for this INDESCRIBABLE GIFT of life=for

How about you?=Do you welcome GUESTS=into your house=

JUST LIKE IT WAS JESUS?=Like they were a son or daughter=

Of the Lord MOST HIGH=TREAT them with love and respect

Just LIKE THEY ARE JESUS!

 

Shake their hands=GIVE the a HUG=tell them you

LOVE THEM=say=”WELCOME=I am glad to see you”

 

“Therefore=whoever takes the lowly position=OF THIS CHILD=

Is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven=and

WHOEVER WELCOMES=one such child=in my name=WELCOMES ME”                               Matthew 18:5

It is up to us=TO WELCOME=All those who come=into our home=

Like they were Jesus Christ=like they were a DISTINGUISED GUEST=

JUST LIKE THEY WERE JESUS!

 

TREAT them with respect=with LOVE=with kindness=and with

Hospitality=”Share with the Lord’s people=who are in need

PRACTICE HOSPITALITY”                                                                                                                           Romans 12:13

 

“Do not=forget TO SHOW HOSPITALITY=to strangers for by

So doing some people=have SHOWN HOSPITALITY=to angels

Without know it”                                                                                                                                      Hebrews 13:2

 

“Above all=love each other deeply=because love covers a

Multitude of sins=OFFER HOSPITALITY=to one another without

Grumbling”                                                                                                                                                   1 Peter 4:9

 

The Saint=we honor today=is SAINT BENEDICT=in his RULE=he

Said that all guests=should be treated=JUST LIKE Jesus Christ himself

 

You never know=who YOU are INTERACTING WITH=so honor

All people with LOVE=kindness and respect=for Jesus was ONE of us=

JUST LIKE IT WAS JESUS!

 

“But the Lord declares=’Far be it from me!=Those who HONOR ME=

I WILL HONOR=but those who despise me=Will be disdained’”                                              1 Samuel 2:30

 

“You have made them=a little lower=than the angels=He

Crowned them=with glory AND HONOR”                                                                                     Psalm 8:5

 

“You were bought at a price=THEREFORE HONOR GOD=with

I HAVE FORGOTTEN=much of what I have learned=in this life=but

I have NEVER FORGOTTEN=what my mom and dad=and what Jesus

Have taught me

 

WELCOME YOUR GUESTS=with love and respect=TREAT them all

JUST LIKE=THEY WERE JESUS!=Welcome all!

Our ever welcoming=LIVING FATHER!
