DEAR LORD=HELP US TO RECONCILE

Sometimes=it is hard

To KNOW the truth

About ourselves

Today=we read about the

FAMINE=and Joseph and his

BROTHERS=It is getting to the POINT

Where Jacob sends his sons

To see Joseph

FORCED TO RECONCILE

Dear Lord=help us to

RECONCILE WITH ONE ANOTHER

"We saw the ANGUISH

Of his heart=

When he pleaded with us=

Yet we paid no heed"                                                                                               Genesis 42:21

One thing is for SURE=

We must FACE the truth

About ourselves=

It is a condition

Of God's SAVING WORK

The JOURNEY for Joseph's brothers

Was to seek relief

From the famine

That had spread=OVER their land

This forced them TO RECONCILE

With their brother Joseph

Whom they discarded

At the same time

WE too

Have to reconcile

With the things we have

DONE wrong in our life

DEAR LORD=HELP US to RECONCILE

With one another

And with ourselves

"........leave your gift there

In front of the altar=

First go and be RECONCILED

To them=then come

And offer your gift"                                                                                                              Matthew 5:24

"All this=is from God

Who RECONCILED US

To himself through Christ

And gave us

The ministry of RECONCILIATION

That God was reconciling

The world to himself

In Christ

Not counting peoples's sins

Against them"                                                                                                             2 Corinthians 5:18-19

Jacob and his sons

Were trying to SURVIVE=

What could be=

More important than that?

But this story HINGES

On the RECONCILIATION

Of the sons of Jacob

And their brother=JOSEPH

And our lives=DEPEND ON

The reconciliation of ourselves

With our past=and

OUR PAST FAILURES!

"........and in one body

TO RECONCILE=both of them

To God=through the cross

BY which he put

To death=their hostility"                                                                                            Ephesians 2:16

Those brothers needed to

RECONCILE=for their

Bad deed

To their brother Joseph

How about ME AND YOU?=what do

We NEED to reconcile with

Or who?

DEAR LORD=HELP US TO RECONCILE!

Please FREE US from

Our hard hearts=and what

May be HOLDING US BACK

In the name of Jesus=and our ever LOVING AND FORGIVING FATHER!
