HE KNOWS WHAT IT IS

TO BE HUMAN

 

OUR God is a God

Who FULLY knows

What it means to be HUMAN

 

He came to earth

In the form of

A human being

And EXPERIENCED every human emotion

That we do-including-

Pain and suffering

 

He even had a mother-a

Step-father-and brothers and sisters

He was part of a HUMAN FAMILY

A family that KNEW

What it means to EXPERIENCE LOVE

 

“For we do NOT

Have a high priest

Who is unable

 

To sympathize with

Our weaknesses........”                                                                Hebrews 4:15

 

YES-weaknesses-we have

Plenty of those-at least-

I do

 

And Jesus did too

He was FULLY HUMAN

He lived-died-and RESURRECTED

 

Because he was PERFECT

In love-HIS LOVE

Knew no limits

 

So he knows

What it means to be weak

To be PUSHED

To the limits of a being human

 

“What is mankind

That you are mindful

Of them?

 

Human beings

That you CARE for them?”                                                          Psalm 8:4

 

Of course-

What higher HONOR

Could we have than

You ( Jesus)-being ONE of us

 

You UNDERSTAND us

Oh so well-yet you-

LOVE US oh so much

 

“For the foolishness of God

Is wiser than human wisdom

 

And the weakness of God

Is STRONGER

Than human strength”                                                                       1 Corinthians 1:25

 

Our God-our Jesus-not contained

Even by death

 

LOVE IS STRONGER!-than human weaknesses

 

Yet he KNOWS-what it is

To have a human body

Have limitations-even though-

He could PERFORM miracles-

And overcome all

 

Our Lord God-Our LORD Jesus

Understands-UNDERSTANDS our hurt-

Our doubts-

Our fear of failing

 

He understands us too-he does NOT

Condemn us

 

“........For the Lord

SEARCHES every heart

And understands every desire

And every thought”                                                             1 Chronicles 28:9

 

“But the seed falling

On good soil

REFERS to someone

 

Who hears the word

And UNDERSTANDS it

 

This is the ONE

Who produces a crop

Yielding a hundred-sixty-

Or 30 times what was sown”                                                   Matthew 13:23

 

That IS the GOOD NEWS-

We have a GOD who UNDERSTANDS

What it is to be fully HUMAN

 

Just IMAGINE how proud he is of us

IF we understand him-just

A little-and we BECOME

A little bit MORE like him

 

Yet he FORGIVES our flaws

And imperfections-for HE KNOWS

WHAT it is to BE HUMAN

 

HE KNOWS-ALL TOO WELL
